Why is Lailai in black? Me and EB got the same amount of votes against us.Vel-Rahn Koon wrote:Official Vote Count

Read some games on this site, also not everybody can post all the time, some people here have jobs, girlfriends, etc. which prevents them from being online all the time. So if we only have one week to post a lot of people wouldn't be able to actively contribute to the game. A three-week deadline is actually rather short, and when someone reaches a majority the Day will immediatly go into Night phase.I've got a question. Why are the days so long? I'd think 7 RL days would be more than enough time.AurorusVox: About Cirdua [...] when she comes back [...]

actually, I agree. If we all post several times a day, we should be able to generate an informed (as informed as day 1s ever are) decision within a week or so.Steve Kulko wrote:I've got a question. Why are the days so long? I'd think 7 RL days would be more than enough time.
And that's why the days are so long. Newbie games are plagued with the need to replace people, because a lot of people who come here don't know if they're going to like the game or not, or like the way we play the game. So we're constantly replacing people in Newbie games.dramonic wrote:well, I suppose it depends a lot on the activity level :S
By the time you find out someone has flaked, about 5 RL days have gone by, and you actually wind up statistically favoring the scum team because you can't get enough info to make informed decisions.
If no one ever flaked, or if the games were larger, I would agree - with good activity levels and very little replacing, you can get all the info you need to make an informed decision in a week or so. But the extreme flaking issue in the majority of Newbie games makes having a shorter "Day" a waste of time. The Newbie Queue ALWAYS needs ICs and Mods!

lailai was the first to get two votes, right?Vel-Rahn Koon wrote:[*]At deadline, ½ the original number of votes will be required for a lynch. Too confusing for me....lailai wrote:The reason I voted for you, is because other people are voting for you and whoever voted the same person as me voted someone else instead
I think you mean, you switched just to join a bandwagon?
Do you feel it's useful to create bandwagons without a reason for them?-

I see what your play is, but a nice time to shift out of RVS, I think. How did you feel about me at L-2, Adel?-

Just checking in as I don't want to be too absent while I try to figure out how the game is played and what is going on. Still ok with where my vote is as no one else has done enough to make me change it.
In an effort to provide some input on the discussions...on the subject of no lynching...I agree with the point being made that a NL would be a wasted opportunity to get a mafia member out and just allow them a free shot at getting rid of non-mafia.Town 57w-66l :: Not Town 29w-16l:: TBD 2

And what sort of a tell were you looking for? 'Cause blithe unconcern seems like as much of one as you were likely to get.Adel wrote:

I was on the site and paying attention to all of the games on my watched topics list. Had there been another vote, placing him at lynch -1, I would've responded by unvoting. Then we would have a tell, or at least a "teaching" moment.dramonic wrote:

A teaching moment:
using the search function of the forum, like ttp://www.mafiascum.net/forum/search.php?search_author=Adel allows you to see all posts made by a certain player, in reverse chronological order. Many games have a problem with lurkers, and many new(ish) and some lazy veteran players make the mistake of lurking in one game while posting often in the forums or in other games. Talking about on-going games is against the site rules, but mentioning (as an example) that player xxxx hasn't posted in this game for four days, but has posts elsewhere on each of those days for a total of 74 total posts since his last post in this game, is allowed by every mod I've played under.-
