Excuse me? Could I get a summary of why I getting scum tells from the people who said so?There are so many questions I'd like to ask, but we are left watching the checkered board. Our eyes pass over the symmetry. I wish it were possible to achieve such mimicry, to move our pieces in peace ├óÔé¼ÔÇ£ my bishops to church, your wild horses to stable.-

I actually dredged through every OGML-modded game game on the symmetrical roles issue here (I did miss one). For some reason lazarusmoth counts work as a reason to call ConM town, but ignores it for me. I also don't get how not being on reck/inHim is a towntell. It seems like lazarusmoth stretched for reasons for his read on ConM here.lazarusmoth wrote:ConM - Townie. His above-and-beyond research in determining a metagame pattern to the mod working on symmetrical roles strikes me as a hard-working townie. He also did not believe in a reck or inhim lynch. I'd like to know about his setup observations though as he claimed to be able to narrow it down after N2.
Xyl - Confusing read. He has rang some scum alarms in early game with a lot of vote-flipping. Also, he actively tried to derail a symmetrical setup theory (which in my view is proven as right more than not) and kept his vote on inHim. But he also reads as townie because Reck roleblocked him but mafia seems to still have nightkilled (and I'm working on the symmetry assumption that there are 2 groups). Also, his constant drumbeating on the lynch deadline reads as townie as well. Not sure with him at all.#mafia@irc.globalgamers.net

Alright, here we go.
Phoebus has been spending this entire game deflecting attention from himself whenever there’s any semblance of attention placed on him and has been generally flimsy whenever he’s not been under duress. Here’s a quick summary of what he’s done so far:
1) Was on kise wagon
2) Didn’t like inHim bandwagon; next post decided he liked it; did not vote
3) Lurked
4) This:
This post was right around the beginning where people were starting to grow weary of Phoebus’ lurking and drifting through the days providing the low content with a low volume (a combination that’s sure to anger xRECKONERx if I’m excommunicable only for the former) and starting to peg him as a legitimate scum suspect.sam.samhorn wrote:
I mist've missed this post earlier. I would absolutely be down for a Phoebus lynch.Phoebus wrote:You're claiming meta because it's "unlikely" to happen.
I'm claiming meta based on my old experiences and my own actions as mod.
I don't wish to lynch a claimed pair yet, especially with the remaining one shots/specific night roles revealed.
I get the feeling you're trying to stall discussion Xyl - any speculation after N1 - whether correct or not - is helpful.
Why stamp it out?
And yes cateraction, that's exactly why I'm voting him.
I'm also uncomfortable with the way I'm "being told" what to do - i.e. voting reckoner
Would you like to persuade me to change my mind?
Rather than tell me to?
in factvote: Phoebus
That’s why this post is scummy. He created an awful “attack” on Xyl because “he’s trying to stall discussion” – which is horrible considering Xyl is one of the most active and engaging players throughout this game – and takes great offense in an OMGUS way to being told what he should do. Throughout this post he also has an irritated, combative tone that I’ve really never seen out of Phoebus before.
Here’s how this starts: xRECKONER you said it would be weird if there were two town-aligned roleblockers, well inHim is dead so HMMM WHAT DOES THAT MAKE YOU? …it’s like he was trying to be legitimate in making this case. I know Phoebus is a better player than that, so I instantly assumed he was trying to create a case out of thin air, which is what scum try to do.sam.samhorn wrote:
Yeah, this case is bad. It's really scummy and reeks of desperation too.Phoebus wrote:xRECKONERx
I just read your posts all by themselves.
You went from claiming roleblocker, to town-aligned role blocker and are now using the term - Town Roleblocker once the mod revealed it.
There are two occasions where you mentioned a scum and mafia-aligned roleblocker.
You have also been on record saying that the idea of two town role blockers seems ludicrous and that if there was one town, then the other would be evil.
Well, we have a town role blocker. Where does that leave you?
I've been reflecting on this whole paired role business.
We've had an ODD NIGHT cop. So his pair should be an EVEN NIGHT cop.
However, we did not have an odd/even night roleblocker. We just had a TOWN roleblocker.
Dizzy is AWOL - so we cannot talk to her more about her supposed vig-ability.
Yet, two one-shot vigilantes seem more probable than two full town role blockers.
In any case, Izzy is away, so she can't be effective scum, even if she IS scum.
Which leaves you and Xylth -
Yesterday, you claim you blocked me.
Well, that's moot because I don't do anything at night.
We have two kills.
The first night we had three kills. With Izzy claiming one of them and also claiming one-shot vig - let's say two are scum kills.
We have two kills again tonight.
You said you found Xylth scummy but did not block him because you wanted to go after an SK?
What roleblocker would randomly switch/NOT TARGET his suspect multiple times (well, at least twice) to ascertain his results?
Please tell me how it makes more sense to target a suspected SK over a suspected Mafia?
One works alone, the other in a group.
If you successfully block one, you can analyze his interactions to glean info.
The other... not so much.
vote:xRECKONERxVote; Phoebus
Then his post turns to terrible talk about the structure of this game, assuming that there can’t be two roleblockers for whatever reason to deflect attention away from him instead of defend himself. It’s like he knows he’s scum and he knows everyone else knows it so he’s just trying whatever means possible. It’s almost too easy.
What I didn’t like most about the post was that it was right when Phoebus was really starting to get the heat turned up by the rest of the town and he tries without any effort whatsoever to accuse someone else of being scum. This is my favorite scumtell of all: Players all too commonly don’t do anything and then finally create a case on someone somehow after they’ve been called out on it. Phoeb hardly even voted for anyone before rambling inanely about the setup and then deciding that two town roleblockers was too scummy. Not to mention I personally think (and the consensus seems to be the same) xRECKONER has been one of the most townielike players so far in this game and you have yourself a scum-fueled case.
Before you call me a hypocrite though realize that these were the thoughts I had on Phoebus when I voted him; I was just too lazy/busy to go through and type this all up."I have chronic depression and a learning disability" - Xylthilxm-

I also didn't anticipate how busy I would become. Been watching lots of sports lately.Xylthixlm wrote:Tonight ortomorrow? Deadline is two days from tonight. That's actually a good point, xyl. Again, as I stated I get scum reads and town reads from you based on the points mentioned.Xylthixlm wrote:

I determined that not being on the reck/inhim lynch was a town tell because I bought into the game symmetry that was proposed. It seems more of a possibility than not. Therefore, I put ConM for town because he shared the same viewpoint. There are so many questions I'd like to ask, but we are left watching the checkered board. Our eyes pass over the symmetry. I wish it were possible to achieve such mimicry, to move our pieces in peace ├óÔé¼ÔÇ£ my bishops to church, your wild horses to stable.-

Great. So it's pretty much me and a bunch of people I've found semiscummy from the game's start. *sigh* We can assume there's only one mafia left. I kind of support scot's idea of No Lynching today. A mafia kill puts us down to 5, we lynch tomorrow, 4, another kill = 3. I'd rather the endgame be 2 town 1 scum instead of 3 town 1 scum.green shirt thursdays
