Read the rules people. Locked doors have no effects on night actions. You can die in a locked room.

Tenchi- I only mentioned the vig as a plausible explanation to a supposed hidden motive for going into the storage room. As you pointed out, there is a chance that the vig would want to go into that room if you're assumption of conditions are true. Yet you dismiss it. Did you notice all of this is based on assumption? You also think there is a very low possibility of there being a vig in this game, why is that? The only information we have is that there are 12 players. Not anything that would make a vig unlikely.

And to go back to one of my other questions that I accidentally deleted in my post:
Tenchi wrote:Let's create codenames for everyone so that MafiaMann can help us with stuff.

I want mine to be
"the guy with glasses"[/b].

Battousai, why did you move to Room number 7? Do you need an Evil Bunny mask to do your stuff?
Why did you post this question only to vote me after I answered? That implied that you had an acceptable answer in which I could have responded. What could I have said that would make you not want to vote me?

No; my only knowledge of the manga is some google searches and a wikipedia article. I'm trying to get a better handle on to what extent the set-up is reflective of the source material.

Sure :)

Black means that that the door is open.
Red means that the door is closed.
Room 14 is in darkred, as it's its door in a different room, which got locked by Iecerint. So nobody, except for Iecerint (who can't use his barcode on it) can get to this door. So nobody can open this door until Iecrint unlocks his door.
Then there's purple. Room 7 also had an extra door in it. This one was opened by Mykonian. As Mykonian didn't leave this room when PhilyEc closed Room 7 and as Mykonian's door isn't locked, both Mykonian and PhilyEc can still move between these two rooms.

I hope this explains it all.

The basics of the flavor:
~~~~~~~
~spoilers~
~~~~~~~

Let's start with an important one;
- The Master Wolf had a key that can open all doors.
- If you have a lover, then she might be a wolf.
- Playing around with flavor could be used to trigger events. A hypnotist used trigger words to influence some characters.

Characters:

1.) A former boxer who is forced to quit after allegedly murdering someone on a street brawl. He was imprisoned inside a room with nothing on it for his violent behavior early on, he never got out, he was killed there. His dismembered hand was retrieved to allow the group to make use of his barcode.

2.) A woman who pimps high school girls, she also makes some cash through extortion. She finds a clue on the library that leads her to the real wolf, she stabs her and binds the wolf's love interest. She never finished her off though, much to her regret, since she gets killed later on while she was looking for more clues alone.

3.) The harmless little love interest that has been with the main character since childhood has actually been conditioned to become a killing machine after hearing the signal:"four dee won eye lob", I've changed the words to prevent triggering her in this game, if she does exist.

4.) The main character who was not given barcode, since the wolf was his lover, she didn't want to kill him.

5.) The wolf master is a hypnotist with a tragic past. She pretended to be the first one to die (think Saw), just like another victim in this twisted game.

6.) A masked bunny completely under the hypnotist's spell. They find him in one of the rooms. He gets poisoned by a little needle planted on his mask.

7.) A special agent sent to investigate. He cared for the injured.

Rooms that have existed in the comic, but have not yet been revealed:
- Surveillance Room
- That room with the fuse box. The Wolf in the story would shut off the power to prevent the survey room from being any help.
- Clinic

It seems as if the weapon room that has already been opened acts as a place for the vigilante to pick up a weapon. The clinic that has not yet been found (if it does exists), might do the same for the doctor. And the library is for the cop, although it looks like he has to stay there to research. Perhaps if we all go in there, the cop wouldn't be so afraid of attracting attention to himself.

PaperPenguin moves to Library

They survey room is for the tracker, but we have not found it yet.

Kreriov:

@PaperPenguin - Good theory, though if you read the exchange, I think it pretty obvious I was getting tired of PhilyEc constantly posting when he did not need to. Iecring summed it up better then me in this post to PhilyEc here.
Iecerint wrote:I think his point was that he had already agreed that you had probably just made a mistake. Since this was the best you could have done under the circumstances, it was in your best interest to drop the issue. I believe this applied regardless of your alignment, so I don't think your subsequent indignation is a tell. Please let me know if it is apparent that I have missed something crucial about your altercation.
Either way, it no longer matters. The opportunity to involve more people in the discussion is lost.

I do like PaperPenguin's idea about the Library.

I don't know how close the game follows the manga, but if thats the case, then Battousai would've taken the role of the main charater, right? We should ask him if he know whos the lover, and likely, the killer. But that sounds alittle too easy... Also, I didn't read that far into the manga, how many killers were there?

Does this mean that he gave the town an extra door to open after his death (implies a mechanism for obtaining additional locks, albeit one we clearly shouldn't try to trigger), or does it just mean that the characters maintain access to his already-accessed room after he died? Were there any deaths that led to the characters being cut off from a room?

As I understand it, there's one wolf mastermind in the manga who has a profile similar to the Mod in this game. There's another character (the lover) that she hypnotizes, and that lover hypnotizes various players to commit murders.

So if Batt has a lover, that player should be scum. Shouldn't outguess the Mod though.

And about the library theory, didn't someone say that all the doors are unlocked at night?

Not all doors will be unlocked, they can be locked and stay locked. But night actions are not affected by a locked door (a cop can see your alignment if you are in a locked room, scum can NK you if you are in a locked room, etc.).

On what basis are you claiming this? We now know we have a flavor reason to know that scum will be able to unlock all doors at night, but I don't see how this applies to town roles like cop. Did I miss something?

There were a few players left who could still use their key. All of them were looking with surprised faces what those players who had opened a door were doing. Yet, the biggest surprise had yet to come...
As finally, Looker stood up after being hit by Kreriov's run to his door. She heard the players, whispering that she was probably going to hit Kreriov. Wat else would she do at that side of the corridor? But then they saw that she walked past the room in which Kreriov was staying. She kept on walking, till she stood next to a closed door. And she opened it... Only to get back at the starting room. The ''crime scene room'', where the body of Super Hot Chick, codename ZazieR, was still hanging on the wall.

I do not think we can or should assume anything other than that the scum will be able to perform a night kill at will. That 'with the possible exception of night actions' does not imply that a night action WILL work, only that in conducting a night action, someone MAY move from whatever room they were in to the place they need to be to conduct their action. I see no guarantee that the action will or will not work. For example, what if the cop really does require access to the Library? All that rule says is that if he is in the corridor when night begins, he moves to the Library to do his night actions. It does not say he can go through a locked door.

The whole point is we do not know and should not assume to much.
