If you are truly the doctor then this claim should at least get us another night. I'm inclined to believe you, I think the Falko & Cyren killings wreak of a set up on Gadget who was one of the scummier targets on D3.

Phily from the beginning has had the air of power to me, which I said way back when. He wasn't cop, and if he isn't doctor... then to me he is almost certainally scum. The fact that he has begun pushing a wagon against Gadget so early in the day in Lylo says to me he is the most likely scum.

I have another ace up my sleeve on that will confirm this too (I hope...).

No. If he is claiming doctor, and claiming he saved me... then I'm inclined to believe it. As you point out Gadget has been 'second most lynch worthy for ages' - thats not a case... that is the equivalent of saying 'just roll with the vibe'. Scum want things to roll on naturally, town at this point want a thorough investigation of action (or at least I do) and from what I'm sensing it's you.

Besides your four word vote on Zito screams total scum. I don't doubt for a second that both scum made that wagon go so fast... So which of the four was it?

I'm guessing Giskard's offing might be our tip to scum #2 if this hypothesis stands up. Read: falko.

Seeing as how Qwints has been lurking it out in this game constantly, thats something I can believe. That would make scum Xtoxm and Qwints though, two lurkers. Is that really the best way for a newbie game to go? I'm suprised an IC would do that like, seems unfair on the new people.

Ok, so the suspects given by everyone are so far, Qwints, falko, and Phily.

I'm going to assume that you definately clear me as Town, because of my claim. as well as Corp for his actions.

So there are a total of 3 possibilities, 6 if you count the hypothetical "Corp really is the scum" idea, but again, he is town to me, hence my actions to save him.

Its a Q-F F-P or Q-P pairing, from what I believe.

To speculate on tactics, a Who's the most scummy approach will lead to a F-Q pairing. on account of the observation of lack of activity.

Falko, how on earth did you manage to have the locked thread not come up on your watched topics, it comes up just fine on mine.

And Qwints, you better speak up soon or else you might get the chop.

Even if Corp, a pro-towner is really scum, we still have one of those three people mainly suspected at least as the mafia.

Okay, Gadget, yes you're town. But for me this is between Falko, Corp, Qwints. Corp was obvtown to me through the game and look how town has done?

Qwints quickhammered Zito, he's definately scum in this situation so its between Corp and falko for me. Qwints wouldn't make such an irrational move with his experience in such events.

I was clearly wrong about yesterday's lynch, but 4 other people voted for Papa as well. I had been suspicious of him on Day 1 and shotty flipping town made me quite confident Papa was scum.

There are two things to note about this situation - if I'm not hammered after everyone's had a chance to see the situation, then either I'm scum or both players on my wagon are scum.

Phily not being hammered is not as sure a sign. Scum might not be able to synchronize their actions sufficiently to get a quick lynch.

Okay this is the big one for Day 3 from me.

Re: The ace in 355. My vote on Phily was a punt. An educated punt, but a punt nonetheless. Now that about 2 days have gone past and we haven't had a lynch on him it has paid off.

There are two options here:

Phily or I are scum (and possibly both I suppose if I were bussing him here). They are the only two explanations as to why Phily hasn't been nailed yet.

CorpScumHypothesis: My vote is scum. I'm waiting for another town to vote. My scumpartner hits for the third vote.
PhilyScumHypothesis: My vote is clean. Phily is scum and isn't going to vote for himself. It's not at the stage where is partner wants to bus so they aren't either. Therefore getting Phily lynched is entirely contingent on the other two townies who are rightfully being cautious in voting.

If we are both town there is absolutely no reason why the two scum wouldn't swoop down and win this game right now. So right there we have whittled a 2/5 probability of hitting to a 1/2.

Here were my suspicions which led me to take the punt on Phily:

Voted Shotty

. Hardly anything, but you do need to put a slight mark against town. Also look at how it was done, he came in after Zito & I had made compelling cases against Shotty. He didn't put much of a case to Shotty just encouraging us to keep attacking ourselves. Look at post 266. Is it any surprise that every person that he asks people to make a case against is innocent town now?

Voted Zito putting him at L-1

. It is entirely hypocritical for Phily to lambaste qwints for quick hammering in post 369, when he provided the opportunity with a four word post in 331 which simply stated "Vote Zito, Grandstanding scum". This leads me to believe that a qwints scumpairing is likely - but not certain. Contrast this with me withdrawing my vote on Zito immediatly after I realised he was at L-1. He is just as culpable for that mislynch as qwints - make no mistake.

Coming out saying "well that fucks up my theory" wreaks of "jeez guys I'm just a confused town don't take any notice of my votes/thoughts previous". But he still makes sure to push the barrow on Gadget. If you theory has been totally fucked up why continue pushing the same pet lynch you have had the entire game? Gadget was an obvious lynch candidate just because he has always been at the periphery of everyones suspicions - it just seemed a way easy quick lynch to me.

Now after my punt

Buying Gadget's role claim hook line and sinker

. Only a scum (who would be aware of the goon/roleblocker set up) would know if there is definitely a doctor or not. The weird thing in post 353 immediately after Gadget's role claim he votes for him, but then unvotes in a change of strategy - but maybe we give the benefit of the doubt there?! I'm guessing the reason he backed off so quickly from pushing so hard for Gadget in 349 to the point where he was prepared to vote for him in 353 was that he realised continuing to accuse someone he knew to be doctor was going to alienate them from voting with them today (after already losing me given I'm voting for him - he would only have the clean one of falko/qwints who could potentially vote with the scumpartners). So he turned his attention to someone else - qwints, which leads me to think falko could also be the partner, until I factor in he is trying to bus qwints to set up a D4 victory.

sounds like total coaching to me for his partner not to counterclaim and to follow his lead.

The vote on qwints

is an absolute stab in the dark typical of Phily's gameplay this whole game. He has gone from voting Gadget to buying a potential false claim, then voting Qwints in less than 10 posts. He is either the worlds most careless townie (see his L-1 vote on Zito) or scum waiting for a townie to bite and his scumbuddy to come crashing down. Plus if his vote hangs on Qwints too much longer you can probably summise that either he or Qwints is scum too.

So there you go. I'm happy to take questions, comments and what not. But I don't see how given that you can vote for anyone other than Phily or myself. However if you are going to vote - please make a post outlining why you are doing what you are doing and in what circumstances you will remove it. Assuming a bus doesn't happen today we should be able to get the scum partner tomorrow. But knowing if a bus has occurred will be the key.

In my haste to get that posted I forgot: For me the smart money on a scum partner is qwints. It's all about weighing up the words of protection for falko throughout the game, last seen in 369 against their L-1, hammer partnership in knocking off Zito. I usually take actions over words...
