I'm seriously not trying to lurk, but I don't think we're doing anything new. At this point, we've mostly been rehashing arguments we've already had, going around in circles.

Alright, so I think I am ready to play now. I started off really badly - I didn't know about this game until about 2 weeks after it started, so I was behind and then quickly read through the thread. I didn't know what to think, and didn't really learn anything from my read through, and I started the game off with a stupid cultural reference which dominated my first couple of posts. That was stupid. It was beyond the RVS, so I should've just started in a serious mood. Alas.

Then I told myself (and you guys) that I was going to re-read and try to post, but those were empty promises. I didn't really give this game my time and effort, and I only posted enough so I wouldn't be replaced, because I wanted to play it, I just didn't.

It's been about a month since the game has started - a week from deadline - and I haven't done anything all game, besides a terrible and admittedly weak vote on Empking. KMD is right in his assertion that I can contribute more, so I don't fault him for his vote, although his suspicions are incorrect. My vote was weak, mainly because I was attempting to get into the game, and I thought voting somebody scummy would've solved that little problem, but I wasn't giving the thread my full attention, so the vote really wasn't the greatest. I still think he was bandwagoning and everything, but I am not really sure it was worth a vote from myself.

I have once again re-read the thread, and the two who stick out to me most is ort and Starbuck, and also Zaz. I think Zaz is probably the most pro-town player, to me, and I am glad she replaced in. Starbuck is probably the scummiest player in the game (minus lurkers like Emp), and I am not sure I buy Sudo's explanation for her plan for everyone to role claim. Ort is another player who has received lots of heat from a lot of people. I have played with him before a few times, including one time as his mason buddy, so I should probably know his meta, but I can't recall it at the moment. I will be reading the two of those guys in ISO, but I will try to offer more input, especially since I will be V/LA next week.

How did you confirm your role without knowing about the game?

I knew about the game initially - I signed up in the queue and got my PM, but the thread was locked and wasn't going to be unlocked until the game started. Stupidly, I didn't hit the 'watchlist' link below, and forgot all about the game, and didn't know about it until I was prodded by the mod.

So technically, I did know about it, but completely forgot all about it.

I missed this initially, but I saw it in my read through, so I figured I would answer it for you.

I brought this up, because I was reading my role PM, and the flavor seemed pretty unique compared to other games and I thought a flavor claim would be pretty useful later on in the game, because my flavor reveals a lot and I am sure others would to, because of the fantasy aspect of the game. I mentioned it then, because it popped into my head, and I didn't want to forget about it, and at least mention it. But I agree that it should be brought up when the time comes, and not now.

*whistle whistle* no-one being deliberately scummy here, sorry. I have never seen theory discussion contribute meaningfully to a game, I have been in one which OP was in also where it made the game extremely large in post-size and entirely useless. .

Was that the game with you and me as Masons and with vollkan? I forgot about the name of that. (I seem to be doing a lot of forgetting in my posts, but I swear I don't have dementia)

Reading Emp in ISO, it appears he only responds to stuff he is opposed to, like me wanting a flavor claim sometime later on in the game and people voting him. All the posts are mainly 1-2 sentences.

Of course, Empking normally plays like this, so I am not sure this is indicative of his alignment, since (IMO, no offense) he is hardly helpful in any of the games I've played with him.

The game is an island bit in the rules is about meta-gaming for yourself. That doesn't mean you can't use meta against other players, I believe, so your point doesn't matter Empking.

EMPKING: How do you know his meta is wrong, when in one of your next posts, you have to ask what it is?
