Then you're inferring wrong, it isn't that inHim has less of a right to defend himself, but that he supported bandwagoning on another player, claiming it to be a good thing, but when it was turned on him he became defensive and was opposed to it, making inHim a hypocrite.Fishythefish wrote:You are attacking inHim for being defensive (which is a bad attack in itself), and linking it to his bad logic. What I infer from this paragraph is something along the lines of "inHim has less right to defend himself- he supports wagoning for the sake of it", which is not a good sentiment.Brandi wrote:From what it looks like at the moment, InHim is all supportive of wagoning just to wagon, but is against his own wagon, and is being very defensive. He should be supporting it by his own logic.

This may be right. However, as nothing more than an attack on inHim's logic, Brandi's post doesn't really make much sense. inHim wasn't criticising anyone for voting for no reason, he was criticising their actual reasons. This isn't hypocritical. inHim's reaction to his wagon isn't very relevant to his own reasons for voting other people. His logic also clearly doesn't extend to bandwagons on him (he doesn't really need more information on himself).Debonair Danny DiPietro wrote:Then you're inferring wrong, it isn't that inHim has less of a right to defend himself, but that he supported bandwagoning on another player, claiming it to be a good thing, but when it was turned on him he became defensive and was opposed to it, making inHim a hypocrite.-

I'm aware of this.hp [leaves] wrote:You can still gather information even when the bandwagon is on yourself. Scum have votes too.
I'm going to respond to people's reasoning.
I'm not saying that everyone has to be so gung ho about "near random" bandwagoning; rather, I'm just trying to say that it's not such an automatically scummy thing.
Here comes some WIFOM: would I really havehp[leaves] wrote:Trying to not rock the boat ---> scumtellannouncedmy non-rocking-the-boat-ness if I were scum?
Well... are you even sure that was me trying to not rock the boat? My intention was more along the lines of, "I want to vote someone I think is scummier than many of the other players in the game, andother players might agree with me this time."
We just went over this, I think. You should vote for who you think is scummy.
My vote on Brandi may have been too hasty, as she now reads as simply playing emotionally instead of outright scum.
unvote- I'll reread. The vote may come back to Brandi, it may not.Show"I'm from Indiana. I know what you're thinking: Indiana... Mafia." - Jim Gaffigan

I don't buy this. It feels like you're backpedaling now. How can you think someone is scummier than someone else based on who has the most random votes?inHimshallibe wrote: My intention was more along the lines of, "I want to vote someone I think is scummier than many of the other players in the game, andother players might agree with me this time."On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

The quote you are referencing is in regard from me switching from DDD to Brandi.veerus wrote:

Did I really say who had the most votes was myonlycriteria? I'll have to go back and look, and then wash out my mouth if I did.Show"I'm from Indiana. I know what you're thinking: Indiana... Mafia." - Jim Gaffigan

Getting caught up now, still adjusting to a new place and job so wont be super active for a little bit still.
I like this from inH actually, and see exactly what he is getting at. DDD brought up reasons for voting inH, unvoted his previous vote, and then never voted inH. It was just a post calling him scummy. Seems like he should vote him with what was brought up here, not seemingly searching for approval to vote.inHimshallibe wrote:
Fair enough. But why pose that as a question? I think you're asking approval of the rest of us before you lay down a vote, which happens to be scum-motivated protocol. veerus did do the same, but was not so egregious, as he is still a little more convincing of his intentions.Debonair Danny DiPietro wrote:Don't like inHim counting my vote amongst the seemingly serious votes against the Fish, trying to appear to have more support than he does?
As a side note, I understand what you tried to do in the early game. I just dont really like that type of play too much as its not what im used to so I cant get reads off it. That no reasoning wagon vote is the closest I ever get to it.
unvote, vote sliceyfor these next few things.
First you vote inH for his playstyle of the wagoning thing. So he wagons to get information. Wow. Must be scum there man. If you can go back through all his past games and find significant correlation between him doing this as scum, I will listen.
Next the "I will remember this for later" comment from brandi, which is a much bigger scumtell then what you voted over, just gets an FoS. The fact that you noticed this as scummy, and voted a playstyle difference over it is shocking. You even add in how she seems to be calling quite a few people town almost randomly.
Also I dont think DDD ever responded to that vote by inH, I would like to see a response to that.Temporary unretired alt-

Yes, you would. And are. Responding to arguments with WIFOM is also a scumtell.inHimshallibe wrote:

So you think DDD is not scummy anymore?inHimshallibe wrote:Well... are you even sure that was me trying to not rock the boat? @inhim: I have in no way been playing "emotionally" just logically, unlike you.
That's rather odd that you would bring such a pointless statement out into the open like that as if it were relevant. Sounds like you are planning on it.inhim wrote:The vote may come back to Brandi, it may not.
Regardless, inhim seems to be acting VERY wishy-washy and changing things around to try and look more pro-town, now that more people are actually posting. I don't think I'll be moving my vote anytime soon.-

Hm. Unless I'm missing something, Brandi didn't say (or even imply) that Maturin is scummy, just that he wasn't posting much.hp [leaves] wrote:

Unvote, Vote Maturin24
I want Maturin to contribute a bit more (and should contribute a bit more myself ) but I don't like the "vote lurkers" concept, and never had. Not for the first "offence".Some people might remember me as Aelyn...

What's this?!?! Voting for other reasons? What a novel idea.hp [leaves] wrote:Voting lurkers is just like forcing them to post. You can also gather reactions.
Hmm, I may finally have a thoughtful post to make in this game, but I'm going to go do other stuff for the day. I'll be back later.Show"I'm from Indiana. I know what you're thinking: Indiana... Mafia." - Jim Gaffigan
