No. It was rolefishing, but not scummy rolefishing. Percy, I couldn't care less if millar stays around for the rest of the game. The important thing is that the WIFOM surrounding him is gone.dingoatemybaby wrote:

Dumping a vote on a lurker (who really had just flaked) and keeping it there was something I did as scum in the last game I played. It allowed me to distance myself from a vote that manifested against a townie who was acting in a very scummy way.
I'm NOT saying it is wrong to vote for a lurker. I am saying it is wrong to say you will keep your vote on that lurker (or flaker) no matter how scummy other players might turn out to be.-

Percy leaving a vote on a lurker as a tactic to get someone to contribute more...
I think this is a fair strategy, until someone scummier comes along, or the votee comes across as townish when they do start playing properly. Also, as long as Percy is actively participating in the game, I would not consider it a huge thing, to use this method as a tactic.
I also see Dingo's concern in someone pledging their vote until the other player plays "excellently". In this case, "Excellent scumhunting" being the operative term.
However, in order for "Excellent scumhunting" to happen, the said lurker would need to possibly lead the lynching, or contribute vastly to the lynching of at least 1 scumbag, in the next phase of their posting at the very least. Ok, that might be over doing it, but the expectation level would be too high using the above phrase.
But votes apply pressure one way or the other, speaking of which....
UNVOTE: VOTE: Musafa...
So now your saying you dont know why you said you were looking at a BM lynch.
You stated..."But I didn't find him to be the best thing since slice bread looking back on day 1 and am glad he isnt mayor."
Again, your reasoning to this is required('') (':') ('')-

Anyway, I'm currenlty leaning towards either lynching one of the lurkers, like Zoneace, or lynching Zwet for general wierdness involving the millar wagon yesterday.
Vote:Zoneace
Remember, I'm a doublevoter, so I think he has...3 votes on him now? Something like that?I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Because lynching lurkers is basically always a good idea, or at least a good place to put your vote while waiting for something better.zwetschenwasser wrote:Why lynch lurkers? He's getting replaced soon.
If he gets replaced, that's one thing. But if he comes back, he should do so with a significant amount of pressure on him to start making real content ASAP or die.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

I'd rather let Zoneace get Zone-replaced since he hasn't been posting in other games either. He last posted 7 days ago. He was prodded 1 day ago. If he doesn't show up soon we may see his replacement by mid-week.
I'm growing more suspicious of Mufasa's awareness of the game. His characterization of BM looks very general and could be applied to other players. Also his self-vote, while not really bad by itself, was made on page 4 when the discussion was shifting away from votes to more serious matters.
And he didn't make any contributions or observations on his own. He supported the BM, Yos and Fonz mayor wagons and the X lynch after others did and he didn't distinguish himself from the crowd. To me it looks like trying to imitate the group's thoughts, rather than expound on them or challenge them. That's a safe move for town that don't want to get in trouble but it's an even safer move for scum that want to stay under the radar.

@dingo:
...and related discussion which I won't quote.dingoatemybaby 638 wrote:I'm sure that calling out lurkers is a good idea. However, you suggested you would keep your vote on him until he provided "excellent" scum hunting. That seems to me a way to keep a vote out there which won't really do anything. It is an easy way to avoid committing to an actual lynch.
I'm putting a lot of pressure on ZONEACE* to make sure his replacement hits the ground running with lots of good analysis. I am not willing to let him (or his replacement) slip by without notice for another day.
Let me put it this way: I won't vote for someone else today until I start seeing protown behaviour from ZONEACE/replacement. I don't think we should lynch anyone until this occurs, because we'd have to repeat this all over again tomorrow. I can still comment on other cases (and have been doing so), but if a player gets lynched before ZONEACE gets replaced then that's a terrible result for the town.
*I believe someone made the comment that "ZONEACE needs to show his ZONEFACE", which stuck in my brain due to hilaire and perhaps is the source of the name confusion.
@Mufasa:
I just don't see this as a legitimate scumtell, at all. I'd like for you to provide some evidence for its usefulness.Percy 634 wrote:
Can you provide a link to any games in which you've used this scumtell successfully?Mufasa 633 wrote:His posting with the rise and fall of plot isn't my favorite play, and I have found to be scumtell in various games.
@zwet:
Firstly, asking for someone at L-1 to claim is not rolefishing. Secondly, you made a big deal out of it (HOW COME NO-ONE NOTICED?! or something to that effect) when everyone else could see it for what it was.zwetschenwasser 651 wrote:No. It was rolefishing, but not scummy rolefishing. Now you've said that it was to start discussion on Yos. It failed. Do you still want to talk about Yos? What is your opinion of him now?
Also, the WIFOM surrounding millar hasnotgone. People are still talking about whether we can assume he's a stumped townie or something more malevolent. I think it's a terrible idea to lynch a Jester (or some other related role), but you seem to think that if someone might be a Jester you might as well lynch them just to be sure. Is this correct?
@Mike:
It's bare, as in carry
You didn't vote for a mayor, which I find odd. Are you happy with Yosarian2? Why or why not?-
