So you'd rather us all stand around with our thumbs up our asses like had been going on the whole second day? I don't have any stellar plan for getting things moving, so I thought maybe that would work.Panzerjager wrote:I hate when charter does this, but this is just the way he acts.(waits for him to switch is vote on me when the wagon starts to stall at L-2.-

i am not sure what to write, as everything i have to say at the moment is aimed at shadow and i don't want to just be accused of throwing stuff back at the person who just voted for me.
but i hope you see the folly of voting for me when i said your attempt to open up discussion made you look badwhen everyone else said it too!-

This sounds weird because I'm basically telling you to make a case on me, but my thinking is that a- its not OMGUS if you actually present a case against me; and b- you seem awfully preoccupied with appearing townie and only scum worries about that.ShowHouse of Mirrors- Dead

Hey guys.
In future, can you try being less scummy? Seriously. I have scumreads on nearly all of you.
Firstly, on the nightkill: Zeenon was going to be replaced. Replacements can fuck scum over big time, especially if the game is going in their favour. But most scum don't view players who are going to be replaced as potential threats, preferring instead to kill vocal/active townies. The way I figure, scum probably killed Zeenon because they felt that his potential replacement was more of a threat to them than anyone currently in the game.
That's something of a worry from where I'm standing.
It also makes Cephrir's reaction coming into day very strange indeed to me. His posts around that period feel forced. If he were scum and he knew the reason for the kill, but he knew it was slightly off the wall reasoning, then he would also know that it would look bizarre to the town. So fi he was trying to look like a townie, you would get a slightly forced looking "oh wow, what an odd kill" vibe from his posts. And I get that.
Furthermore, his contributions yesterday were, shall we say, less than inspiring. One thing that particularly struck me was how introspective they felt. Some examples:
"Playstyle thing, I guess. I generally don't vote lightly. " - This was the one that first gave me that impression. Veyr much looking at himself, his own playstyle, rather than who is scum.
"I think I'm going to end up voting for Khelvaster or Zazie today. I'm pretty confident that at least one of them is scum and I don't like the other three-ish options. " - this post predicting his own actions (I don't see why he needs to make a prediction (I think) rather than a statement (I will). Mostly, a player would say "The other three-ish options are bad options" or something.
Every time he has an opinion it ishisopinion. This is whatIthink about x. Not "this is x". This is whoIbelieve is scum. Not "x is scum". I figured this might be a meta thing, so I've just now gone and looked it up. And he does speak about himself and his thoughts more than most people. So this I'm not certain is a scumtell after all - I still think it's a convenient way of not really having to get involved in the game.
But (and this part is not new) he does not seem to be trying to form any opinions in this game. We get the conclusions, but none of the opinion making process, with the exception of two posts of meaty analysis. He has barely interrogated anyone, never got his claws stuck in - there are plenty of rhetorical questions, but at my count only 2 real questions in his play so far.
And indeed, he didn't deny the accusation that he was flying under the radar.
(As a sidenote, I massively disagree with his assertion that flying under the radar is not scummy.)Being "under the radar" isn't scummy. I'm admitting that I suck at finding scum before one scum is dead (not much better afterwards, but at least I feel like I have something to go on and talk about).
Actually, Cephrir: Why is flying under the radar scummy?

You know, I'm tempted to vote him myself simply due to his apparent inability to get in here and post something, although he has posted 15 times since his last post here in other threads (9 posts in another game in Little Italy alone). He's also had time for a re-read in a New York game.

Even if you hadn't done a little research and seen that I usually post like that, why would this be relevant? It's just wording choice. If you'd rather pretend all the 'I thinks' and whatnot aren't there, feel free. I'm not, like, intentionally using my wording to not get involved. If I didn't want to be involved, why would I play mafia?Shanba wrote:Every time he has an opinion it is his opinion. This is what I think about x. Not "this is x". This is who I believe is scum. True, I haven't had much of an opinion. Hopefully I will be able to remedy this soon, but a lot of shortish posts with a few large analyses is pretty much my style. It's just that there are usually a lot more of both kinds.Shanba wrote:But (and this part is not new) he does not seem to be trying to form any opinions in this game. I'm going to assume you meant to ask me why it's not. Not making waves is a null tell. It indicates laziness, lack of time, or playstyle more often than it indicates a specific strategy as scum.Shanba wrote:(As a sidenote, I massively disagree with his assertion that flying under the radar is not scummy.)

The bolded isn't true, not sure where you got that. It doesn't help that this game is a chore, but really all my games are suffering. Vote me for it if you want, but it has nothing to do with my alignment.Shadow Knight wrote:You know, I'm tempted to vote him myself simply due to his apparent inability to get in here and post something, although he has posted 15 times since his last post here in other threads (9 posts in another game in Little Italy alone). He's also had time for a re-read in a New York game.-

@gerain- are you actually *reading* my posts? If you're going to misrepresent me, I may as well park my vote on you till you hang yourself. I FOS'd ceph for not posting for DAYS after promising content. Read that again, since I know you're probably skimming this post too. I FOS'd him, not VOTED him. I was not on his bandwagon(?- 2 votes =/= bandwagon, btw) I was planning to push him for content before Shan voted him and in all honesty, I find it amusing that within hours of Shan's vote and minutes of my FOS, ceph suddenly shows up and posts something (still not sure I can call it true content, as the whole thing is a defense of Shan's post, which means that from the time of his promise post till then, he did absolutely nothing for this game). That makes me feel like he was planning to continue lurking, which puts him neck in neck with you for scum vibes.
@ceph- read those last two sentences for gerain. If I decide to vote you, its not because you were lurking, its because you promised content, had time to post in your other games, and when you came back, failed to deliver a post that was anything beyond a defense of an attack that had happend a few hours before your post. Granted, it wasn't much of an attack, but then again, it wasn't much of a defense either. I can understand lurking if you're having RL problems, or lack of time, etc (I had intermittant internet connection for a week and my games suffered, but I came back in all of them and started posting again, asap). What I'd like to see from you is some content that is not defense. A PBPA, A vote analysis, something.ShowHouse of Mirrors- Dead
