What's the significance/utility of green goo? Players that target green goo become vanilla? Do they retain their alignment?

No, they become green goo themself. They do retain alignment and group abilities like Mafiakill. Also the importance of him claiming to be the original Green goo means odds are Xtoxm is a survivor, as Xylbot leans heavily on giving Green Goo as a survivor role. Given his apparent no chalant attitude to follow the easiest wagon, my bets is on him indeed being a survivor. This does mean though he can't be scum.

Also note the help was posted in the modkill text for those who want to know what it does.

They share no links at all other than being green goo. Think the gray goo theory here. That is what Green Goo s based off of. There is a cult version of the Green goo though, but that has bee resoundingly eliminated at the beginning of D1. Basically it is way more harmful to town if there is no SK/Cult than it will ever be to the mafia.

No, it just basically means anyone who targets me loses their abilities. And it turn, anyone who targets anyone who targets me also loses their abilities. And so on. While it can hurt scum, it got a better chance of hurting town, so it's basically a weak anti-town role.

Also, i've hardly been hopping onto the easiest wagon. I don't see DGB as scummy. Lurker lynches would be cool. Or we can lynch actives til the game dies and scum cruise to victory. It's all good...
