good point. I guess quitting isn't a scumtell in this case, but the way she quit saying syndrome was sexist was bs.

Kmd have you ever seen quitting as a scumtell in the games you've played?

Do you think the reasons they give for quitting could be scumtells?

The reason I ask is because of the games I've read, and tried to figure out who was mafia , I've been suspicious of players who quit when they get a little pressure on them.

I generally see it as a null tell. It's nothing strategic or anything, so it doesn't really indicate alignment.
Raiv wrote:Do you think the reasons they give for quitting could be scumtells?
Not really. I think the best place to go is to judge Ash for his own actions unless you can pick out something from Mizz's play. TBH, I really can't.

Raivann wrote:CntR are you scumbuddies with Ash?
No.
Kmd4390 wrote:Bolt/Cnt: I didn't notice much from you regarding Mizz. What did you think of her?
Thought that she was mostly a lurker-ish (who could be putting up a newbie pose) player before she left, but at the moment, I feel that she might just be a confused townie.
ZazieR wrote:One player who did catch my attention is CntR. You might remember that he called Dennis out as he didn't post after his vote. Afterwards, he also saw that Mizz hadn't posted after her vote. But when she does post, he only states that he would vote her after waiting on a post (after those 3) as she pinged his scumdar. But he never stated why, and he didn't respond to her last post before she asked to be replaced.
She pinged my scumdar for just lurking, since lurkers make the game less fun, really.

As for why I did not post...I think I was sleeping at the time and I missed the entire episode. (I'm in a GMT+5:30 time zone, which sometimes makes things awkward)

Time for me to step in. I see many posts which include a part about Mizz leaving in this game and if it had to do anything with her allignment. However, Mizz had also joined two other games besides this one. So if you think that she might be scum as she left, then it's also possible that she was scum in another game.
Also, KMD is right. It doesn't show indicate allignment.

Anyway, I still find Mizz suspicious as she suddenly showed up after being called out, but not adding content. She also didn't address any votes or questions in her final post before she decided to leave, but she did address the unvote.

However, CntR, who votes Mizz for lurking, but didn't mention Bolt at all, while he was worse, deserves some attention as well.

And KMD, I assume that you'll give comments later about the stuff from my previous post you disagreed with.

This is a good point. Newbie scum tend to think of lurking as optimal strategy. But they don't want to be called out, so they will post occasionally, especially when called out. Quitting is not a scumtell. The timing and lack of content in her posts is a scumtell.

Also, I agreed with your post for the most part. If you want to see what I disagreed with, I'll let you know, but it's nothing major.

Kmd4390 wrote:SoaD, What were your thoughts regarding Mizz's play? Any opinions on Ash yet?
What play? You mean quitting? I think that's a nulltell; we will never know for sure if she quit because she was mafia and too much pressure was being put on her, or if she quit because she was just new and didn't like all the negative attention, or even if she quit for another reason altogether and just didn't want to tell us so she made up a reason. I'm going to have to say she was just new. Innocent until proven guilty, I always say.

I don't like how ash is saying he "admits" that mizz looked scummy, yet says "but now that I took her role I know she's not". He obviously could very well be telling the truth about it, but something just seems fishy about that story that I can't quite put my finger on. Anyone else getting these vibes?

Also, Ash:
Raivann, seems like you were pushing pretty hard for her in the beginning and are still going for it strong through me

Trying to get an innocent out quick in the beginning?"
Can you point out how Raivann was "pushing hard for her" with specific quotes? Because I re-read over his posts and I'm just no seeing it.

That combined with her play before that.
SoaD wrote: Innocent until proven guilty
In mafia, guilty until proven innocent is a better way to think. At least that's my opinion. Some players say otherwise.

Well, I can see replacing a player who you agree is scummy. I've even done it. The explanation seemed a bit much though.

I agree that mizz's attitude was weird and now Ash's attempt to prove his innocence matter-of-factly is not looking townie at all.

Vote Ash.

I wasn't sure at the time. I was applying pressure , i would not have hammered

I think her reaction- quitting - is scummy. So yeah i'm still happy with my vote.

KMD you've noticed townie behaviour , have you noticed any scummy ?

CntR are you scumbuddies with Ash?

Here, he say that he "was just applying pressure." but still maintains that he thought Mizz was scum, than proceeds to again act certain that I'm scum.

Furthermore

No, I know my case is weak, but it did have the desired effect of generating some quality discussion
When confronted against his voting, after all the confidence, he seems hesitent, and ask if anyone else has seen it happen before, and says that he has a weak case, despite acting like he knew I was scum without a shadow of a doubt previously.

In conclusion, in my opinion he, pushed hard for Mizz early, than I switched in, in still held strong pushing for that vote, yet when he was confronted about from someone else, he now all of a sudden seemed unsure and said his case was weak.
