What effects do avatars have on you?

Personally, I completely ignore avatars after the first-page randomness, no matter what my role.
I just find them really handy to identify whoever's posting by their avatar (Or lack of).

Whilst I'm certainly not new to the site (Been here since late 2006), I haven't played much - and I only recently switched to this avatar.

But if it's like someone else's, I'll change it again.

And I imagine this avvy might shape people's responses to me in a game. It isn't meant to be serious though.

Anyway, I'll try to stop derailing the thread.
The only avatar in this thread so far that might have a chance of influencing me would be Claus', and only for a joke Day 1 vote because it looks evil.
