I think, in light of Darox, I am going to do a PBPA to see if my memory is correct. I'll post it later.
A comment I think I would like to make:
EK, you DEFINITELY changed the subject.
491 - you are explaining why you found him suspicious for his word choice.
492 - SlySly finishes what is a pretty logical defense, overall. Regardless, the topic is still on his word choice.
493 - you suddenly attack his "no lynch" claim, making no overall response to his defense against your word choice attack, and from then on never touch the subject again.
If that isn't changing the subject, then I am Abraham Lincoln.ShowMy mini normal is running! Yaaaay!

By clarified, I take it you mean post 511 where you refer to suspicions on a couple of other people (Isacc and kmd). That's fine, and is partly why I don't see you as majorly scummy right now. I'm interested to see where you take those suspicions now that the lynch of Sly didn't work, though: are you going to start pushing those two now?hasdgfas wrote:ok caf, but now that I have clarified, what do you think?-

Please explain how ignoring flavour is scummy. As far as I can see, the only thing he's done is disagreed with your attempt to modconfirm yourself as town via flavour. All it looks like right now is OMGUS.
Caf, please define 'a long time', because otherwise you could apply that to most of the players that suspected Sly.

Will a lynch on you fail?dahill1 wrote:*does something scummy*
I had good reason to think a lynch on me would fail so I had no fear whatsoever in doing things that could be taken as scummy. You doubted me and wasted time trying to lynch me. It failed and you are still trying to lynch me.
I have good reason to believe that if you get everyone to decide to try and lynch me again that it will fail again, hence wasting more valuable scum hunting time.
Do you find anyone else scummy?
IMO, that statement you are choosing to ignore confirms my town alignment."SlySly is the scummiest player on the site." ~DrippingGoofball-

Ignoring the flavor isn't scummy at all, for this reason: It has nothing to do with your role, so it DOESN'T confirm you, however the fact that you were not lynched DOES seem to confirm you. Since there is an apparent contradiction, it would seem that the flavor is there simply to confuse us. Thus, so that we aren't spending all day going "zomg what exactly did the mod mean," we are going to ignore the flavor. At least, that is why I am ignoring the flavor.
Working on that Darox PBPA still... Hopefully I'll have time to post it by tonight.ShowMy mini normal is running! Yaaaay!

I didn't change the subject, slysly did. The unlychable aspect seemed like it didn't make sense. Like he had been changing his story. I smelled lie, so I went after it.Isacc wrote:EK, you DEFINITELY changed the subject.

dahill says he doesn't buy the slip in 489

"Got distracted" is code for "changed the subject to."
I'm not liking your explanation here. I don't buy it at all. I don't see how SlySly changed the subject, and the fact remains you jumped from "Your word choice is suspicious," to "That one part of your last defense is suspicious."

Well, you haven't spent more than about one line addressing suspicions of any other player since post 249, where you voted for Kmd. Post 321 you have a line on Kmd, and in 438 and 446 you criticise Isacc's plan, but not in a way that suggests actual suspicion. That's all I can find. 300 posts is a long time, no?Darox wrote:Caf, please define 'a long time', because otherwise you could apply that to most of the players that suspected Sly.-

The only reasonable reaction to what you suggested is, "Hell no. Why would I agree to being modkilled or lynched. Your plan is retarded." That's what I would have said in Des's position regardless of alignment. I think you were trying to get Des killed, and when we attacked you for it, you came back with, "Wait! It was a Gambit!"Isacc wrote:@Kmd: How was my plan scummy? He wouldn't have had to test it to the point of being modkilled. I wanted his reaction, not his death.
If you do not believe I am telling the truth, then you must already be suspicious of me: can you provide reasons for your distrust of me, plan obviously not being one of them?
If you do believe I am telling the truth...well then you shouldn't find my plan scummy, so I'll discredit that possibility.
I know what you are saying, but I doubt the Mod is telling us you are town with this. If you look at the game of mafia as a whole, the town is uninformed. That means we don't know who the scum are. (Yes, I'm stating the obvious, but just follow me for a second). So if we don't know the scum, everyone has an equal chance of being "one of our own". Also, flavor doesn't usually give game related information.caf19 wrote: As for Sly's non-lynch... we are definitely in mod-Wifom-ville here. It appears that Sly's claim of being a sasquatch has been given weight, but whether he is a town sasquatch or a scum sasquatch is unclear. The prospect of having an anti-town player who resists the lynch is somewhat overpowered and unlikely (anyone here seen one in a game before?), but especially in a game such as this one we can't rule it out. Still, time to explore some other avenues.

I seriously doubt Sly is scum after the non-lynch.

To me it means, in orrderrr off likelihood:SlySly wrote:

(a) as Kmd said, only means that you and we all inhabitants of zis village, wif no implication alignment-vise
(b) you could be yester ("poorfoolsgathered around one of their own"); the idea zat you might be somevhat- or completely-unlynchable yester zeems zomehow fittingk in bastard-mod game
(c) vhat you said, flavourr confirms you as town
I give it this odds, yes?
(a) = 80%
(b) = 15%
(c) = 5%
But at cost of muddying ze vaters. Zince now playerrrs who suzpected you may vonder if you survived dueing to lemonade and not dueing to rhrrole. (Or, maybe, you survive due to role but tryingk to lure more players to buy lemonade if you and Caf both scum are.)SlySly wrote:

I put zis doubts out there to explain vhy I not yet totally convinced your rrrole/alignment claim iss true... but, I accept your point, better to be lookingk for scum elzevhere for now.

If you want to call it that, okay. Maybe I did change the subject, but guess I just don't understand what was weird about it. I stand by the "slip" remark, and I've explaned it numerous times. The fact that I may sometimes talk about other things, doesn't mean anything. It's not like I didn't want to talk about the slip. I've talked about it a lot. We can talk about it all day. I don't understand the problem with me having multiple points and going from one to the other.Isacc wrote:"Got distracted" is code for "changed the subject to."

CHANGING THE SUBJECT NOW...
I found it interesting that sly still has seven votes on him. The VC didn't reset. He has seven votes on him and continues to live. So I guess we can't lynch him today.

I have to look through the thread and see where I want to put my vote now. I'm thinking darox or maybe cow. Darox for that weird bandwagon vote on kmd with no reasons explained. cow because he went on Isaac's witch hunt against des.Talk nerdy to me.

Sorry, haven't had time for the PBPA. I should get to it sooner or later... xD
@Kmd: You completely ignored my question. Mind ACTUALLY ANSWERING ME. If you think I was trying to get Des killed, that would mean you are suspicious of meoutside of my gambit. You cannot use my plan as reason that you were suspicious of me prior to my plan: it doesn't work. Now, please, don't avoid the question any longer.
@EK: I don't know if I buy that you didn't understand what was weird about it. It looked like you were making an attack, realized it wasn't strong, and tried to switch to something else before you lost your momentum.ShowMy mini normal is running! Yaaaay!
