You have the following ability. You may only use it twice during the game:
You may target one player during the day. All abilities in that player's possession will become 1-shot abilities, with one shot left (regardless if the player has used them before). This ability does not remove other modifiers (such as "odd-night").

You exit the game in a win once you have directly contributed for the deaths of N players, where N is half of the amount of players in the game at the beginning of the game, rounded down.

You score for each hammer vote you place, successful nightkill performed by you, and anything else the moderator determines would constitute as killing another player.

Speacial Abilities
:
1 town-colored mana: restore 10 health to target player
2 town-colored mana, tap: summom an 8/8 treant. You can use it to attack one player every day phase (but not on the day ohase it was summoned on)
You begin the game with one forest (able to generate 1 green mana for every day and night cycle).

Health: Vanilla Townies have a maximum of 10 health. Any other role that does not specify health would have health between 8 and 30, up to moderator's discretion and based on the role's power level (over 20 would be only bosses).
Any ability that refers to killing would instead work as "reduce that player's health by 12", and any ability that refers to kill protection would instead absorb or negate damage.



This absolutely sucks but I will work on it at some point.


Really loved the reroll benefactor though.

Reroll but make the Dead Thread OP


Reroll this card, but now the dead thread has an unavoidable tracker ability they can use every night. They also possess a 1-shot vig ability, usable at night.

Both abilities must be decided on by majority vote. Rep-outs and spectators have a vote by default but may give up their vote if they so desire.

The fact that the dead thread is OP is announced at gamestart.

Mod-discretion alignment.

You have a posting restriction: you may never claim any roles or abilities that are whitelisted for Normal games. Doing so would make you immediately die and lose the game.

You have the following abilities:

1-Shot T-checker: At night, target a player. you will learn exactly how many times the letter T appears in their full role name (including alignment, if the alignment is specified on their card's name).

1-Shot "I am just limbait, as usual": Once during the day, post something intentionally scummy. Then post "I am just limbait as usual", or something with a similar meaning. Quote both posts to the mod, and you will (sercetly) become loved for that day phase, requiring an extra vote to get you eliminated. (does not work in XLo)

1-Shot Combined Jailkeeper Tracker: exactly what it sounds like

1-Shot Spamposter: Once during the day, message the mod that you would like them to spam a particular message. For the rest of the day phase, the mod will post that message or variations of it in every VC as well as in random intervals, and will also post a bunch of memes with no explanation.

1-Shot Poofer: Once during the game during either day or night, message the moderator "Poof: PLAYER", and that player will be immediately poofed out of existence, unable to act, vote or post for the rest of the phase. They will return to the game at the start of the next phase.

Once during the game, when a player hits E-1, you may take a peek at their role card. This will reveal to you the exact same information that would be revealed if that player flipped (so alignment and role, but not scum partners, for instance).

Optional Rule: the player must activate this power by preflipping the target, such as posting "if X flips scum then Y is probably their partner" in the game thread.

You are just some guy from town, nothing special. You do have some abilities that might be useful though:

A Bit of a Numbers Geek:
Once during the game, either at day or night, you may ask the mod to answer one of the following questions truthfully:
  • What is the maximum amount of night kills that can be made in a single night?
  • How many non-town factions exist?
  • How many roles exist which may generate mod lies that cannot be reasonably anticipated?
  • How many roles exist with night actions?
  • Any other similar question which the mod deems balanced and numbers-related.
Single:

Hi, you are town aligned.

Every day you may
awkwardy force yourself upon
tactfully start a conversation with one other player. You will get a PT for that.

In the PT you can discuss whatever you like. If the other player laughs or pretends to laugh at something you say, you feel really awesome and gain a 1-shot Awesome Ability.

If they say "ew" or just straight up ignore you, you are heartbroken and die.

The PT closes after every night phase, regardless of the outcome.

Awesome Ability:
If you successfully charmed another player, you may submit an action of your choice to the moderator at night. It has to be a pretty cool action, though. If the moderator thinks it's a cool / awesome action, then it will probably go through.

This used to be a busted town role. Unfortunately, your game moderator has decided to veto this role. So instead, you get this one:

Unknowing Night X Vigilante Night Y Doctor Night Z True Alignment Cop

Every night, you may attempt to use an ability on a player. On certain nights which the moderator will not inform you of, you will actually have an ability.

The moderator secretly picks the values of X, Y and Z (three different whole numbers between 1 and 10) at game start. The moderator DOES NOT inform the player of these values. The values are not random but mod-dscretion.

Every night you may compose a poem, and either send it privately to one player, or have it posted anonymously in the public thread.

Once in the game you may attempt to look for divine inspiration. If you do, forego your ability to vote the next Day phase. At night, you will receive advice from the mod on how to solve the game.

This should be fair advice, not straight up information. So something like "maybe you should re-evaluate one of your townreads" or "maybe someone is actually fakeclaiming" are fine, but not "PLAYER is scum" or "PLAYER is fakeclaiming".

Level 1 Paladin


Alignment: Lawful Good (see below)

You have the following abilities, which you may use at night:
  • Lesser Heal: Protect a player from a single kill.
  • Smite Evil: Roleblock a player. If their alignment is Chaotic Evil (see below), they instantly die. Otherwise, nothing happens


Alignments:

All members of groupscum factions are Lawful Evil, unless stated otherwise.

All hostile third parties, such as Serial Killer or Arsonist, are Chaotic Evil unless stated otherwise.

All members of the Town faction are Neutral Good, unless stated otherwise.


Players with the "Lawful Good" alignment have the following win condition: all evil-aligned players are dead and there are at least 3 remaining good-aligned players.

Players with the "Chaotic Good" alignment win once all Lawful Evil and Lawful Neutral players are dead. They remain in the game and are allowed to assist the town but do not have to.

Players with the "Lawful Neutral" alignment win if either of the following conditions has been met: (a) The game had been won by a Lawful Evil faction; or (b) A player with the Lawful Good alignment has achieved their win condition.



Is this a good idea or a terrible one? Would anyone enjoy playing any of these non-standard alignments?

I'm pretty sure none of this would come into direct conflict with feeling like a game of mafia. It just adds town with slightly different wincons and third parties with slightly different wincons. Also I removed the health thing.

Mafia-Siding Bastard Mod


If this card is drawn, the moderator of the game gains the Mafia-Siding Bastard Mod modifier (as described below), then reroll the card to give the player that drew it a mafia-aligned role.

Mafia-Siding Bastard Mod modifier: The mod may freely chat with the mafia faction (including giving advice), but may not disclose to them any setup information or secret information such a player's role or night actions. Once per game, the mod may redact the flip of one player, if they believe this would assist the win condition of the mafia faction.

Important note: the mod should NOT give any advice that may reveal to the mafia secret information in a roundabout way, such as "I think X might be a good roleblock target" (signifying X is a PR), only advice such as "I think X might be suspecting you" or "maybe you should bus here for towncred", etc.

Alternative name suggestions will be accepted. A Master At Arms is a naval officer responsible for discipline btw.

At the end of every night phase, the moderator will provide you with a summary of the mafia PT from that night, omitting identifying details.

At the end of N1, the moderator will inform the mafia that your role exists. Once per game the mafia may guess your identity, and if correct, you will instantly die.

Formatting and level of detail of the summary is up to moderator discretion, but the moderator should never attempt to mislead the eavesdropper by omitting important details intentionally. Yes, this role is extremely bastard.

Town Witness-Protection Program Director


During setup finalization, the mod will pick 3 non-town factions (for example, Mafia, Werewolves, and Aliens), at least one of which is guaranteed to exist in the game.

You will be assigned 3 witnesses to protect, each one protected from a different faction. The witnesses are confirmed to you not to belong to the faction they are protected from.

You share a separate PT with each witness. As long as you are alive and not roleblocked, witnesses will be protected from all actions by the faction they're protected from that target them.




An example of how this would work:

Player A rolls this role. He is informed that Player B is not Mafia (and has a PT with her), that Player C is not Cult (and has a PT with them), and that Player D is not Alien (and also has a PT with them).

The nontown factions in the game are the Aliens and Werewolves.

So all actions the Aliens take that would target player D, fail. Unless Player A is roleblocked.

Mafia Flavor Changer


Each night, you may target a player. Their role's flavor will change, but their abilities will stay the same.

For example a cop could be changed to be a reformed criminal who sees which players they "recognize from the past" (mafia), and which they do not (not mafia).


Tbh, the pagetop role doesn't sound particularly fun to play as, since you are not even playing a game of mafia at that point.

Once, during a day phase, you may attempt to recruit up to 4 other players to your crew. Each will be given the option to join or decline (if they don't respond, it defaults to decline).

Town Drunken Cop


Mod Note: give the player the same role PM you would give a sane (alignment) cop.

When the player attempts to investigate someone, roll a d100 and use the following table to interpret the result:

1-50: the player is too drunk to act and gets "no result".
51-75: the investigation is redirected to a random other player (the cop learns the new target and is led to believe they were redirected. additionally the result is still a correct result).
76-100: the investigation goes through successfully.

Town Visitor + setup synergy summoner


During setup generation, change one other player's role (but not alignment) to a role that gives visits an extra effect. An example of such a role is this one.

Each night, you may visit a player of your choice.
