Voting

• Please use voting tags (VOTE: Player or VOTE: Player) or bold text (

Deadlines/Activity

• Days will last 10 real life days, Nights will last 48 hours.
  
• A Day will end early upon elimination or when at least 50% of living players vote for no elimination.
  
• Nights may end early if all living players request a fast night via PM.
  
• Votes or Actions submitted after a deadline expires will not be counted.
  
• Players will be prodded after 36 hours with no activity. If a prod is not picked up within 24 hours, the slot will be open for replacement. If the inactive player posts before a replacement is found, they may remain in the game.
  
• If there is an outstanding prod at the end of a Day, the player must check in during the first 24 hours of Night, or the slot will be open for replacement.
  
• If a player would receive a fourth prod, the slot will be open for replacement even if the player returns before a replacement is found, though they may continue to post until officially replaced.
  
• If a player requires Vacation/Limited Access, please notify me in addition to setting V/LA status on your profile, and prod timers will be doubled.

In my first game, I was voted by policy. The feedback I was given could be boiled down to that I was too wordy, and too imprecise, and was largely unrelated to alignment. This game I am making a conscious effort to be concise, and establish clear boundaries for my positions.

I think we still no eliminate here still despite agreeing. To confirm, I have a question.

Mod: How would you resolve it if town no limmed and then scum no killed?

No elimination requires at least 50% of living players to vote. In this case, that's three.

If there are four complete cycles with no deaths, I will end the game in a draw, with both teams considered losing. There are otherwise no restrictions on no kills/no eliminations.

Regarding the setup, the "intended vision" was for scum to hide within the Millers, with the focus being on strong day play to figure out who in the massive pile of Millers was lying, since the Cop wouldn't be able to directly find scum at night. The Miller Enabler role was supposed to create a high-value scum member that the team would be reluctant to bus, and if found successfully would reward the Town by upgrading the Cop. Backup Cop existed to prevent Town getting screwed over with an early Cop kill, though Firebringer's fakeclaim is interesting because an earlier version of the setup did have a Bodyguard instead of a Backup Cop. The Informed was indeed that four Millers existed, and was added at the behest of the reviewers, who believed scum needed that information for the option to claim Miller early instead of only realizing there were enough to hide in after the Town claims.

However, none of that ended up happening, and it was the night play that ended up mattering more than anything else here. Scum shooting sheep instead of bob was a huge turning point, and then the no-kill gambit basically sealed their fate by allowing Norwee to get a free check off. It was very interesting to watch happen, and I do appreciate Firebringer sticking it out to the end.

I agree that the setup was probably townsided overall, but I don't think it was so townsided as to be forcefeeding a victory.

With nearly half of the Town being Millers, and all four of them at least soft claiming by D1, there was an extremely narrow pool for PR hunting AND for viable cop targets. What happened here, from my perspective, is that scum fucked up by not noticing Jason's sudden strong townreads (cop indicative), and shooting a claimed Miller instead. Up until that point, scum had the game locked down, and even after it was pretty much up in the air until the last night.

I do agree with Firebringer on the setup restricting scum's options, and though that was partly intentional, I get the frustration there. I'll probably not try something similar if I end up running more games in the future.

Well the simple answer is that I would not.

But I suppose if I were kidnapped and forced to run a 26 player game with a similar design, the solution would be Multiball. One scumteam gets the Miller Enabler and a Rolecop, the other gets a Roleblocker and is informed the other team has a Miller Enabler. Maybe add a JK for Town?

With double the kills in play, and the scumteams needing to balance cooperation to beat the Town with the need for one to ultimately win, I think the game would be much more dynamic, though I am making no claims as to a rough idea off the top of my head being balanced.

But also I will reiterate that I would not do such a thing. I was already in over my head modding a relatively low-power 13 player game, I'm not subjecting myself to 26
