I think it was a good idea at the start so the game could develop organically. Hoods are distracting and that lets scum hide especially if it were all town.
I probably should have figured my actual wcumhunting would get ignored like usual but I thought that one was pretty good :c

it is similar enough that the only role distribution that makes sense that keeps the same balance of the original setup is for the ascetic to be mafia.

one of the town neighbors could be an unclaimed bp on a certain night.
going from 8->9 increases the day count by 1.
changing the ascetic from scum -> town is a significant anti-town winrate move that would require even more compensation on townside to for original balance.
I can't concede as town so I am going to vote Baltar, say if I am scum with him to bus them, and look forward to getting chainflipped while I get spammed about how the mod didn't bother to change role alignments
