populartajo in 146 wrote:And why cant he be a dumb newbie (again judged by his avatar and his goon status?)
Why is that a strong scumtell?
First you say you didn't say it at all, and then you start defending it... I dont understand... I took 140 to exactly mean that you thought he as a newbie (reference to goon status) and dumb to boot (reference to avatar). I'd say we can all have our own taste in avatar and that doesn't mean anything about our play style. Now, about being newbie, i don't understand why you denied saying it and then defended it...
Completely offtopic: Since when is it ok to call players dumb? Keep doing that so i know to ask for a replacement. I won't stay in a game where i'm insulted. The goon status is due to the fact that i've been playing for a month. Why does that make me dumb?
And still don't get the remark about my avatar. That is not related to this game whatsoever. Keep any personal opinion about my character to yourself please and stick to the game. Don't defend me by insulting me.

I think he wasnt calling you "dumb"...I think he was calling you inexperienced....if you dont have thicker skin than that, you need to find a new game to play. I have been called MUCH worse. let it go and move on.
I don't think anything should be excused even if he is a new player. We can take into account that he is one, but that doesn't mean we should overlook scumtells.
@Stef: But I do think you should get a bit thicker skin, because you will encounter people who will not be quite so courteous. People will insult you, and you just have to deal with it.
I totally agree. I don't want any1 to treat me differently because i am newer to this site. If you think i am scum make a case and i will answer your questions/face your evidence.
@Shadowgirl: maybe. If i thought he meant inexperienced i wouldn't have commented but he said " dumb newbie ". Newbie already means inexperienced. The dumb part was just unnecessary.

Why? Could you be specific as why you think that scum are more likely to skip the random voting phase?
By not participating in the random voting phase you are denying other players from getting any kind of read on you. Just because someone doesn't like that stage of the game, doesn't mean he should be allowed to get off not participating in it.

Only the existence of Stef prevents me from voting you for the italicized portion of this post.
FoS: Sierra
Please explain what you don't like about that sentence.

So, its sort of a lurking scumtell, you're saying? Do you find lurkers are more often scum?

I didn't place a random vote... why isn't that suspicious?

1) Please phrase your questions better. It's not so much that I don't like your sentence as that I find said sentence very, very scummy.
2) What is so scummy about your sentence? That would be your approval of the Stef wagon without actually placing a vote or FoS on him. It gave me the strong impression that you were trying to push along a wagon without actually committing to said wagon, which I generally find to be a sign of scum who either don't want to be tied to a bad wagon or scum who don't want to draw the attention of a well-known town player.
populartajo wrote:Now that I see that post, the reasons why Sierra FOSes me and votes Seraphims arent scumtells at all.
And that italicezed sentence really feels off as Thar notices. He's a wise man.
So, Vote : Sierra
Seriously, if you're going to hop on a bandwagon, at least give more reasoning than a simple "I agree with PLAYERNAME".
Unvote, FoS: populartajo
One of populartajo and Sierra is scum. I'm just not sure which yet.
poptajo: Horrible Sierra vote + really bad vanilla claim + defending Stef w/ newbie card
Sierra: the noncommittal post mentioned above
Stef: hostility towards questions + responds to pressure by joking around (in my experience, that actually IS a scumtell, albeit a weak one)
