As Spekkio is at the end of time which isn't accessible until after Yakra is dead, he is not one of the 3 heroes (weird people), and VT flavor is Knight of Guardia.

Flavor wise, spekkio would be a good guy. Yes he is a boss, but it is a mentor type battle. He is the one who gives all of the main characters magic, and then you can fight him to try out the spells.
Obviously, that does not automatically mean that it is town in this game, but he is not evil in the source material
