I lost the first version of this post due to a power failure induced crash, so here's the short version:

I'm not buying sekinj's claim (she seems knowledgeable enough about DS9 to be able to fabricate it). Also, her late reluctance towards claiming (“I'd really rather not claim”, post #441) does seem strange in light of her earlier statement “I'll claim! I like claiming...” (post # 100).

The citizens of Deep Space Nine argue in the wake of the termination of Vic Fontaine. As the day wears on it is sekinj who draws suspicion, with five of the group slowly converging upon him. Worried that his cover might be blown, sekinj begins to get prickly under the pressure.

Eventually the argument develops into a full-blown shouting match, sekinj's frustration clear for all to see, all pretense of subterfuge abandoned. Once people took a long look at him, it wasn't hard to recognise the face of Damar.

In the end, it gets too much to bear. "You fools!" sekinj yells. "You've blown this for all of us!" And then he takes a phaser to his head.

It would depend on who the guilty result was on. Garak is indeed a pro-Federation character, and arguably the most suited ot being a JoAT in DS9, but as I'm sure you'd have discerned from the wiki he's always been a shady character at best. I'd certainly force some pressure on the guilty party.
The way you've revealed this however, leaves me with some suspicion. Since we've already lost an info role, a doc AND a vig though, I'd be happy with any leads we could get.

I also find it difficult to understand why you would do it this way- it's like you're checking to see how we'd react to a claim and I don't like that.

Jack of all trades makes some sense for Garak- he is quite versatile. Personally, I would have expected him to be a pure information gathering role; but CDB doesn't seem to be going with the expected, so I could buy this too.

As for lynching the person you investigated, it depends who it is, how they react to being questioned and what kind of claim they have. Obviously, I'd be very sauspicious indeed of anyone you got a guilty on.

First: I don't like this testing the waters post of yours. It sounds like someone trying to see if their claim is viable or not.

Second: Depends on who you investigated, what data you gathered from it, and what the two "in the know" people think of your claim and your data (tim and td seem to be the nerds here, but I will think about it otherwise... especially after tim's flavor-related blunder yesterday.)

@Town: While I do agree that Tim's worry over the day vig's ability makes him slightly more likely, I can't think of anyone else the scum would kill. First, he claimed that it was an unlimited day vig, and second, he was pretty much confirmed town. Seems like any scum would have thought to attack him. This statement does not lower tim's odds of being scum as he very well could be.

With Sekinj's suspicions yesterday, the find seems believable, but...

Still, I don't like the manner he brought up his claim. *Shrugs* Guess his weird diction just irks me is all. Otherwise, no problems (as I said) from what I read on wiki. JoaT is a believable claim for his character too, assuming I can trust Liam's judgment. So, barring any other persecution, or a believable claim, I will assume we can trust this find and claim.
