Shadow Thief + Tactician have been pretty effective.
pro so far: you can pass shadows back and forth forever via Tactician and the Shadow Thief can keep robbing the portal claw mini bosses. Also we just beat our first boss using the same tactic. Yaye!
con: The combo has no regenerative power, but if the roll dice and card draws smile on us, I feel like we will do pretty well on our first full run.

This game is
fun
.
Shadow Thief is probably my favorite! I don't think we have the Tactician though.
That's Season 2 characters. Tactitian... well... has a lot of tactics, but he's super fun to play, a lot of fun combos.
Right off the bat, I'm not happy that I couldn't use the original Season 1 characters (with old components) for DTA because the stuff were made for Season 2 and Season 1: Rerolled. I guess I'll need opaque sleeves.
So, quick question, this Saturday, we are doing a game night to ask several people to be in our wedding party, and I discovered that today there is a sale at Target for 25% off any toy, which seems to include board games.
Any good games worth getting that might be available over the next three days for 6 players?
I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.
Betrayal at the House on Hill and 7 Wonders come to mind if you don't have them
they'd target gaming groups at different ends of the spectrum, so perhaps not both
If you plan to buy Betrayal anyway and you know you’ll play it, I highly highly highly recommend the legacy version instead. Once you finish the legacy campaign, you’re left with a board that can be used to play regular games as well. (although now that I think about it, I’m not sure what haunts are included in the legacy general mode vs base game)
I don't know that my fiancee actually likes legacy games. I try not to force her to play Gloomhaven just the two of us, so I think we may only be going forward on that with her brother there.

Looks like betrayal legacy isn’t available as part of the sale anyway. sad
Looking at the sale now as I’m probably also going to buy something (thanks for the heads up about the sale!). here are the games I’ve played before that are included in the sale that I enjoyed and fit 6 players:
Downforce (pretty light)
Evolution (I prefer the sister game Oceans but didn’t see it)
Games I saw in the sale that I think were recently mentioned in the thread and fit 6:
- Villainous
- 221B baker st

This x100
We've owned every version of Betrayal and they all pale in comparison to Legacy
And I'll probably just wait until my birthday late this year and put that on the list for Betrayal. I got Gloomhaven last year, though, so, if Betrayal Legacy is also huge, I might be killed.

What do you mean by “huge,” physical size? It’s not that much bigger than the base game I think (don’t have a physical copy with me but I checked online, and I think the width and height are the same, but legacy version is like 4 inches longer)

We were supposed to play a bunch of Civ games and it happened once years ago. I think with Civ V, before Civ VI came out.
I'd also be down for MS group.
ah well, organizing the group is a whole different story.

Gloomhaven is 30 pounds and now, 5 months later, I'm still getting shit about how it was actually 100 pounds.
