Personally, reading D1, my biggest suspect was VV. I was amazed that he wasn't lynched, but I suppose the ZS wagon had already picked up a full head of steam.

Bonus points to Marmalade--- He looked pretty fairly scummy to me D1, too. I have a specific post in mind, but now I've forgotten which. :P DizzyIzzy replaces in and keeps pushing the (long stalled) babygirl wagon.

Babygirl's hammering of ZS was stupid, but I don't think it was a scumtell--- He said he wouldn't claim, he had been acting irrational and scummy, and personally if I had been in the game, I'd have lynched him too. The only defense he had would have been "If he was scum, why is he acting so scummy?" And I *hate* Too Townie / Too Scummy. Not to mention the fact that Mellow obviously thought he had hammered. Which brings us to...

I don't necessarily believe the vig claim, but there's no reason to act on it today. I think the double NK is at least more indicative of a serial killer--- Neither of the NKs were strong scum suspects Day 1, but this has already been pointed out. The fact that he changed his claim when he thought he was dead is significant--- if he thought he was dead, he had no reason to try and keep up any pretenses of still being pro-town.

I don't like Alabasta's (clearly flawed for many well-noted reasons) plan to nolynch. At this point in the game, Nolynch is not the right call. Hell, lynching anyone would give us more information than a no-lynch. Nolynch would only serve to give the scum another kill. (Two if we have an SK instead of a vig, or MM really is a vig who just can't stop freaking killing townies) Some of Alabaska's stuff has come across as pointlessly angry and overdefensive.

Anyway, my gut tells me that the scum are DizzyIzzy, and Alabaska, at the very least.

Unvote, if necessary. Vote: DizzyIzzy, FOS: Alabaska

Is there a vote count?

Wait, yeah, I see we got one right before I replaced.

It sucks that babygirl asked to replace out. I wanted to ask her if her vote was blatant OMGUS. Her replacement will never be able to answer that.

Then again, it's somewhat consistent with her freaking out when put under pressure.

I was going to post my case against DizzyIzzy, but it's mostly a case against Valiant Valiant. DI can't answer those questions on his behalf anyway.

Post #470, of which there has already been much ado, looks like a bit of a reach to me. It seems like a passing comment that Dizzy wants to paint as scummy in order to keep herself off the block today--- "Die quietly" is not necessarily an instruction, more like a turn of phrase. (One which I've encountered at least once myself in the last month or so)

OK, so we have our debate: I voted for somebody five posts before me with the intent of sparking discussion. Explain how that is scummy, uncalled for, etc., and I'll defend. As I said, once I have reason to believe killa seven is town, I'm unvoting him.
The vote itself isn't scummy, it's your reason. You said you could have random voted anyone. So instead of voting against someone who's been lurking, and trying to goad them into discussion, you vote against a guy who posted the page before you? That's scummy, IME.

Nevertheless,

Considering most of the original players have been replaced / are being replaced, I would support the decision to mod kill. The replacing makes it hard to follow the game. :(

Since Surye posted saying he was back, wouldn't you also like to hear from him?

Hell, day 5 is what, not even a week old yet?

Mr. Incrediball seems to still be alive and hasn't posted Day 5 either. No mention, let alone a vote. Are you guys scumbuddies?

This game has become an endless desert of misery.

Although, while on the way to Subway, it occurred to me:

I don't think the scum are any of the lurkers: I think right now, with the game as close to finish as it is, it's entirely likely that the scum wouldn't want to just sit back and watch---- they'd want to direct the remainder of the conversation so as to ensure a favorable outcome.

The town, meanwhile, has grown complacent and lazy, and even thinking of doing a re-read brings me to tears.

Korts wrote:Kuribo, Surye had at least posted Day 5, even if only to say that he's back.
But that's even worse, it indicates that he was at least at one time paying attention on Day 5, and then never came back.

I, on the other hand, just never paid attention to start.

You accuse q21 of opportunism for jumping on the me-wagon: but you jumped on too (to get me to post?) So you vote q21. Then, of course you vote me for my "serious overreaction."

Believe me, when I'm "seriously overreacting," it will involve lots of caps and name-calling, and possibly spamming the letter "A."

I'm not assuming that at all. I'm just saying
if
.

A modkill can be better than a replacement because it confirms the player as town or scum. It is also better than a lynch because the day may continue, and we effectively have two lynches, one of them being a lurker/inactive-lynch. Why do you feel a lynch is better than a modkill?
I just told you: If we get a replacement, that means we

A) gain an active player

B) Get to question said active player

C) Get a fresh perspective on the game

All of which can only help the town.

This is scummy beyond belief. He's discarding a well laid out case only on the basis of his previous activity level, rather then on the basis of the argument.

And It's a case I happen to like,

No, I'm discarding it because he only posted it after we kept pushing him to do so. Therefore, it doesn't feel like he put any effort into it, nor is he actively scumhunting.

Nope! Scum can make great cases. Hell, I've won as scum using great cases (Mafia 78 - Meta Breaking Mafia 1). You should always take the case for case sake before discarding it for ancillary reasons.
Scum make cases for different reasons than town does: Town does it to lynch scum, scum does it to get town to lynch other town.

Therefore, if I am correct in thinking K7 is scum, it DOESN'T make his case against RBT a good one.

Of course I've heard of those things. My point is that scum DO build legit cases against other scum, but for DIFFERENT REASONS.

I think K7 is scum. Therefore, I think his motive for posting this case against RBT is spurious. Hence, I am free to disregard it.

Further, I think he posted this case against RBT to give the appearance of playing the game after we've had to (as I've said) drag him kicking and screaming into a game of Mafia.

great timing for a roleclaim, captain literacy

And yeah, if you had claimed SK (or hell, even bulletproof), then you'd have been left alive and Riceball probably woulda been the lynch, and you were NK immune. From there, though, it gets kinda muddy, because I have no idea who the lynch would have been the following day.
