I'm not sure if you're saying this exactly, but scum!derp might be incentived to force some reads out to avoid flak? That's actually reasonable. My theory was that you were a launchbait type of player, one that struggles to make reads as scum, so just doesn't try out of fear. The things you've been saying in your push back here kind of suggest otherwise though, so I don't believe in it anymore.
