I'm still working on that Riot reread, but I just found something in post 514 that has completely thrown me off.

This is the post where Had claimed. Notice that he said "unknown sanity". If this was a fake claim, it's a good move because 1) if there was a sane cop in the game, they would not counter claim, and 2) the unknown sanity part keeps him from being lynched. If he had said that he thought he was paranoid, he'd have probably been strung up.

So then why would Thesp further clarify the claim to say that it's most likely paranoid? If he was scum, what would he have to gain by that, especially considering he suspiciously investigated Batt? Thesp, could you elaborate at all about how you came to the conclusion that you are paranoid and not simply of unknown sanity?

In post 514 (on page 21) this was my first post after Thesp had checked in and revealed that he had investigated Batt (in the same post, he slapped a vote on me BTW). Very unfortunate. I was really hoping that his investigation would help us find scum, or go some ways to giving us a path to clear him (or better yet, me).

So the guy was voting me, and was claiming that he was a cop of undetermined sanity who just happened to investigate the dead guy. If I had not had knowledge that he was actually telling the truth, this would have definitely warranted an FoS from me. So that's what I did. If I had just given him a pass, it seems to me like I might as well have hung a sign around my neck saying "Hey scum, power role over here!."

I Fos'd him, then moved on to other things. (In fact, in that very same post I made a case aginst, and voted Charter) I never really pursued any kind of a case on him for the rest of the day.

Please continue lynching Tinsley.

Don't really know how Fark could have satisfactorily answered that question. It's quite incriminating. My thoughts on this. Fakeclaiming weak doctor is (in my opinion) entirely safe for this day, I don't see it getting counterclaimed. Plus, Fark had his breadcrumb to Thesp. I basically accepted his claim entirely.

However, I don't buy Fark's reasoning, he didn't need to Fos Thesp, especially since he DID vote me. He could have just made a little point about Thesp, then moved right on to me. I certainly wouldn't have found it suspicious.

Because if he's scum, he's already essentially dead. There's no way he makes it into the endgame. Also, the risk of lynching a doc here is outweighed by the chance of hitting scum. (If this were the endgame, it'd be a different story, but that's not the case at all.)

Why do the mafia's work for him? If he's actually a doctor, why make it easy for the scum to kill me tonight, and give the scum a choice of having to kill him or have him around for suspicion? If he's scum, do you think it will be useful to see how he explains how he's still alive two days from now?

It's been said but I'll add my opinion of no self-hammer out there. We've waited this long, might as well take this one all the way to deadline too.

Tinsley if you are going to continue your case of me that's fine but I'd like you to respond to my defense if that's the case. I had 2 questions to you in my last post, aside from the general "this is why you're wrong" type statements.

Fark post 984 is lol. (I think you've been the most entertaining player this whole game, what with dancing Strongbad and all.)

Possible. If so I really don't see them both living through the night, but that's not to say they couldn't.

Possible. This could be a great move by Fark because if he is scum, he would know Thesp is telling the truth, so appealing to him is easy and gains him credit. The weak doc allows him to gain Thesp's trust through confirming Thesp's own role if we accept Fark's. I think Doc claims are easy to keep up with, because he can just say, "I picked <non-scum-target> for <X> reason" and we must accept it. Also, if he decides to kill Thesp later, he can pull his, "It must've been a RB" WIFOM to account for it.

I'd already laid this out there but I'll bring it up again. The one thing about this fake claim is it's super risky, but he was about to get the chop anyways so I don't really see what he has to lose from it. In his defense, no one has counter-claimed. I'd rather not lynch Fark

I do think that Mac (and SG) should weigh in on this new evidence against Fark.

charter, do you realize that if Tinsley had put his vote back on before you, or if he had never unvoted in the first place, that Mac would then have been the tie-lynch, and the only way to lynch Tinsley would have been to sway one of the people voting Mac right now.

I didn't want to point this out in the thread - it's why I FoS'd you. The only thing your vote for me would have accomplished was a Mac lynch at deadline.
