Hm, I am not sure. I actually considered Jester to be a likely character just from the general absurd feel of the game. Then again, that could be air escaping from Airhead's long winded posts...

Anyway, I am not really getting a scum vibe off of Coron as much as I am getting a:

I am going to not post so they lynch me vibe. So, I just see him as a likely jester, and I am not going to vote him yet. (especially risking a self vote for his win if he were Jester.)

As a side note: I don't like the general feel of Ribo and Airhead's interaction...

This post deserves a face-palm. Coron just posted (without adding any content, naturally) while he was at l-1, and he didn't self-vote. Thus, we can conclude that Coron would not benefit from being lynched, so Coron is not the Jester. It is, in my opinion, now very likely that Coron is indeed scum.

I wouldn't wagon Coron just yet for the slight chance of him being a jester.

On the other hand, I've never played with him, so he might use this kind of tactic to confuse both town AND mafia, meaning he is in a 3rd party faction of some sort.

and I'm still reading it as a mafia slip. Maybe I'm reading into it too much but your first sentence suggests that Coron is a 3rd party (jester), but then you say "On the other hand...". On the other hand of what? Of Coron being a jester? If Coron is not a jester but third party, then it does him no good to attract attention to himself like that if he's a SK or cult. And the whole sentence is still coming off as mafia saying: hey, it looks to me that Coron's playing style is just trying to confuse us all. How do you know he's not mafia trying to slip by as a jester? None of your theories suggest that.

I think Airhead and I will just have to disagree on not voting. I still maintain that somebody not voting for 9 posts is not a good reason to find somebody scummy. But Airhead seems rooted in her beliefs and it just appears as a playstyle preference at this point.

As far as Coron, I see no reason for not lynching him. He's not really scum-hunting. He appears to be a jester, which means that he either is one or is a mafia trying to buy himself a ticket to the end-game. I've seen a townie play like Coron before, but that townie actually stepped up at L-1 and started calling mafia out based on their reactions to his play. Coron doesn't appear to have any intention of starting to scum-hunt using his play, so I doubt he's a townie.

If Coron is a jester, great, he can have his win. The wiki says that the game will go on once the jester is eliminated (

Artem, I've never played a game with a jester before, so the mechanics are not 100% clear with me. That was the reason for my statement.

Regarding the point you made, Coron playing as a jester to avoid being lynched, is interesting. Whatever his motives are, his playing style clearly means he is not pro-town. So I think you should hammer if there are no major developments soon.

I keep wanting to do a clean read of this game, but I'm always having other things to do, and the fact that I don't have any history with any of the players, which I do with at least some players in most every game I play, keeps making me stop. I know I haven't been doing very much for this game to this point.

Also, I don't know why you think I'm so OBVIOUSLY either a jester or trying to pretend to be a jester. Really that whole thought process is pretty dumb.

So basically, I've been around, reading some of the newer posts if they are fairly short, avoiding basically anything by airhead, no offense, but I really have been having problems getting up the will to read your posts, they look long and fluffy.

That's why I've been posting every time I've been prodded or suspected of lurking. I guess you could say I've been... well... lurking. I can't really argue with it because it's true.

I'll try to read the thread cleanly sometime tonight, but no promises, I might end up watching a movie or catalouging my previous games. I'm easily distracted by shiny things.

I do not know anybody in this game either, and neither do most other players. 'Being distracted by shiny things', come on, we all have that, but you should have the guts to get over it and play this game. And you are the player with the earliest join date of the game, while something like this would perhaps be expected of a newbie.

have I or have I not participated at some points? I've even started participating now. I put the "distracted by shiny things" in there because I know I'd gone and done other stuff several times after telling myself "I'm going to read this game tonight". Then it'd end up being like 2 AM and I'd just say I'm tired and go to sleep, even if I did remember I was supposed to be reading this game then.

When I start playing a game, I don't care about the game. The question is: how long will it take me to care about the game. In this case it took until page 6, which is longer than usual.

I DID participate, I AM easily distracted by shiny things! Why should I ask to be replaced? I'm participating now. I don't really see why my previous two posts frustrate everyone so much. Just because I'm not airhead and don't post a 5 page essay every time I want to post doesn't mean that I'm not participating. I like to keep it short and sweet.

Good post. Actually being productive instead of saying "oh you suck".

But to explain why that post is scummy: appeal to the will of the town. I'd expect a town person to be far more likely to say "I'll vote within 24 hours if nothing changes *my* mind" while scum will act like they're just doing the will of the people.
