The last game I played on my university's forum mafia site was a movie themed game but I won't say the movie because I don't want people to find the site, as it has my real name on there. Everyone had a unique role and there were no vanilla townies. I was a mafia shop who could give away items that would backfire on the townie that uses them. One of them was a laser cannon that would explode and blow up the townie that uses it, when they think it would actually kill the person they use it on. I think the games here are a little more sensible and I prefer it like this.

Yeah i get that's probably a lie, but honestly i think we just have to accept that there will be no sort of coherence in truth's posting

So how do you suggest we sort Truth beyond pressuring them?

My point is that i don't think we will get much out of pressuring truth

If he's town, he'll stick to whatever he's up to
and if he's scum there won't be much difference, and i don't think his scummates would try to risk themselves to protect him

I'm also pretty sure that truth's alignement will be quite obvious after a few moments, so added pressure isn't necessary

imo he's already more or less sorted, at least relative to other people playing

I do not understand how people are reaching the conclusion that Truth will be an easy sort.

Can someone explain this please? Last game Truth was not an easy sort at all and it cost Town the game.

Would've been an easy sort if I were town in that game, to be quite honest

seems a pretty straightforward player by nature. can't find an interpretation of these posts that squares w/ a scum win conditon, especially in light of the account's meta. your suspicion by comparison seems hard to interpret. suppose the player's lying about where they played mafia: what does their choice to tell that lie have to do with their alignment? i see that the behavior'a odd, but i don't see anyone drawing connections between the slot's odd behavior and the slot's win condition.

what i see is a player who at least in the context of our site meta is lowkey bad at this (maybe they'll improve), and has been recently traumatized by an experience (mistakes in a previous game) that made this kind of obvious even to them.

still lowkey bad and now w/ heightened fear of another big failure, they decided to make their biggest mistake from the last game impossible by claiming VT in this game in their first post - even though that's also a bad play.

this anxiety but inability to see the bigger picture about their gameplay issues also helps explain potential (but imo unlikely) exaggerations about their overall gameplay experience: it cuts off another potential attack on their pride

Inclined to agree with this take but have been wrong on my last 2 "anti-town but no scum motive" type reads, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
At the end of the day if Truth's willing to claim on the first post how much can we really analyze their mindset lol?

I do think talking too much about Truth is not to town benefit, though - if Truth's town scum can just sit back and let us argue about this and if they're scum there's like infinite bus equity, so a flip wouldn't give us much extra info

uh just truth's posts here, and posts about their last game. can't say i've looked at the referenced game yet.

LQ, pressuring truth really didn't do any favors in the last game you played
second part is true, but it took town literally the whole game last time around and in the end he wasn't even sorted yet

If people find it hard to tell I'm town, I would recommend cops to check me in the night. I'm not a miller so there's no risk in it and might help the town a lot from being distracted.

Btw, if any investigatives consider checking truth, don't, at least for now, it's not worth revealing yourself just so that we can know truth's alignement, i might be stating the obvious but i'd rather be safe

I agree, but I think we should move on from truth as he is a black hole.
I also think that scum could see an easy mislynch
Tunnelling him this phase can only benefit scum as it allows for laser focus or lack of information on scum.

Yeah so, to launch a new topic, does anyone who have played with bugpray recalls them having a kinda weird playstyle?

(Like, 1/3 of bug's posts are naked votes, the rest is fluff / not so great cases)

So you're fine with a wagon but if it reaches E-3 you hop off? What does that accomplish?
