I'd open an exception for games with direct medieval/Salem flavor.

There are certain toxic mindsets held by people on this site that thankfully keep to politics and the speak easy. I avoid those places and stick to playing mafia (which is the only reason I'm really here anyways) and everything is fine. Once it starts leaking into mafia, however, I'm just not interested in participating.

Or pirates. Or wild west. Turns out "lynching" was used for a lot of things that had nothing to do with race.
Am I still allowed to use L-X as a moderator? Another mafia site is keeping L-X as the term even though they officially use Eliminate (shortened to lim there) now.
yall, there are some seriously disappointing takes here.
Caring about not making people uncomfortable or hurting them is never a bad thing. Filtering ourselves to be a more inclusive, welcoming community isn't hard.

(you can certainly continue to take the L if you wish)
Yeah that's fine. We did make it E-X in the Newbie queue, but you do you.
Turns out I wasn't talking about not being called one. This doesn't explain why I haven't heard anyone say it about my best friends. This doesn't provide any support for the argument that using the word for it's original intended use is in any way prejudiced or discriminatory, which is the original point I was making. Just saying I haven't heard it used as a slur before this site.

I feel like an official sitewide stance on this would be better, if only because new people are either going to be confused about why there are two different terms for it, or they'll figure it out and then probably have an uninformed opinion on it.
That said, I also think L-X is better because it is standard and sounds nicer and is justifiable as L being short for eliminate. But of course if an official announcement suggested E-X I would use that for consistency's sake.
It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!
