Voting is viable because it gives us a solid record of where people's suspicions lie which we can quickly look back on. In theory anyway.

I find your negativity wearying.

We didn't have a lynching mechanism today, it's true. But assuming the russet potato always explodes after eight tosses, we will have one tomorrow.

What does voting have to do with trust anyway? It's a way of keeping discussion going. Otherwise, everyone without potatos will just sit around doing nothing.

executioner= the person with the russet potato on the seventh throw.

Why are you so determained to prevent any kind of progress, RiceTailBall?

Why do you keep insisting that I am trying to prevent progress? Why do you assume we're going to have another russet potato tomorrow? Maybe you know this already? Wouldn't that make you scum?

Voting patterns are only useful in a standard Mafia game because votes are a mechanic of the game which make a person more likely to die.

In this game, that factor has been removed, leaving voting patterns completely and utterly pointless to analyse because scum are completely free to vote for each other if they want because there is no risk of them dieing as a result.

THANK YOU.

THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SAY!

Votes are pointless because they do not lead to a direct action.

Watch:

vote: armlx

See? He is no closer to a lynch than he was before.

Unvote

And now he is no further from a lynch than he was before, because it all depends on where TSS tosses the potato. (Though we all know it's coming right back to me)

That's exactly why they think we're scummy, for trying to follow the theme of a theme game. Ironic, isn't it?

Because you seem to be trying to prevent progress.

Riceballtail wrote:Why do you assume we're going to have another russet potato tomorrow?
Because it makes logical sense from a game balance point of view.
Riceballtail wrote: Maybe you know this already?

No.

Unless you know for a fact that scum get setup information in this game, that wouldn't logically follow, no.

Of course I don't know what the scum know, that's why I was asking you.

I'm not trying to prevent progress, I'm telling you the progress you are trying to make is futile.

We've found out the russet potato takes eight throws to detonate. That's huge progress.

Besides, if everyone had your attitude, the game would stall.

And how did voting figure that out? It had absolutely NOTHING to do with you. It was found by throwing things, not voting. Implying that your idea made that progress, then we have magically found the link between Iraq and the WMD that were supposedly there too right?

You also assume that (if) we have another russet potato it will take 8 throws as well. This is flawed, because you cannot establish a pattern based on one example. You're not making any progress that anyone else hasn't. In fact, you've only stated things that anyone who's been paying attention could have figured out.

If everyone had my attitude, we'd probably be enjoying this game more.

Well, in that case, TSS never stated a case against me until long after asked to as a result of his "let's lynch kuribo" post. To me, the whole thing reeks of "lol scum" and then twisting things around to give the impression of a case.

Agreed, I'm quickly becoming disillusioned with Mafia in general because I get tired and frustrated when this is the third or fourth game I've played that has devolved into page after page of Mafia theory arguing, culminating with, "YOU DISAGREE WITH ME ABOUT MAFIA THEORY AND THEREFORE YOU ARE SCUM."

teleport sweet potato directly into kuribo's brain

Seriously, did you even read my case against you? It had nothing to do with who you agreed with and everything to do with your noncontribution. Do you think that somehow magically if we look at fakevotes we can't look at potatoes? Do you think that magically suspicions expressed by those without potatoes disappear?

I could go for riceballtail or luigi gangsta also, but that for tomorrow's worry I think.
I think it's pretty clear that TSS's awesomeness did alter the roles each of us recieved, and thus he's obviously pro-town. -- Save The Dragons

Load Sweet potato onto the end of a wand and cast Avada Kedavra, hurtling it toward Armlx

MY non-contribution? Okay, "let's get a move on lynching kuribo." How much contribution did you put forward before that?

AH, then I agree.

Not only is it annoying, frustrating, and usually cause one side to come across as "I'm smarter and know more about mafia and that makes you scum," but it also distracts from actual scumhunting.
