Truly random voting is the work of the devil! Normal random-stage votes might mean anything at all, but dice take that meaning away!

Scigatt wrote:Everyone, cool your heels. Keep in mind that this is his first game here. This means he is probably inexperienced. Personally I don't think that his responses can be construed as being scum or town, and can be wholly explained as being a newb who got a little scared. I think that those who voted for him after the lynch are just overeager for reasons.
I read him the same way at first, but then he started throwing around suspicion in post 58... then never even voted anyone he said looked suspicious.

Pretty sure there's been a large conversation about it between Joubert and forbiddanlight.

His posts haven't changed; they still look just as scummy. The way he didn't even say he was a townie bothers me.
Alabaska J wrote:If we were to lynch one of chubbs or Joubert today, who would you choose? Please review both cases carefully before answering this question.
Whoa there, partner. We're lynching someone already? And why's it have to be one of them?

To be quite honest, I'm fine with lynching either of them. They've both seemed scummy. However...Chubbs is more likely to screw up and lead us to his scum buddies if he lives, whereas I give Joubert more credit than that. So, Joubert lynch if I have to, but I'm fine with the Chubbwagon. (I'll hammah it if I have to and Joubert wagon isn't gaining steam)

This is also full of scummery.

roflcopter wrote:hi. its not his posts changing that make him more likely to be town, its the attitude of others in some extremely scummy posts towards him that make him more likely to be town. two separate people (joubert, alabaska) are trying desperately to orchestrate his mislynch in a way that can lead to a second lynch tomorrow of someone not in their scumgroup. joubert is the one doing this the most obviously. and yes, we're lynching somebody already if the town would get off of their asses and do it, because there really should be no question that joubert is scum after his "lynch x as town today, lynch y tomorrow!" post. that kind of bullshit doesn't come from pro-town players, that comes from people who have a specific agenda of keeping their scumgroup off the chopping block in mind.
This would be a good argument, but there's two scum groups. It's easy to see a situation where Chubbs is Ice and joubert is Fire.

I'll agree with you that joubert is acting scummy. That just doesn't excuse Chubbs.

For the record, Chubbs' lack of defensiveness is what makes me read him as newbscum rather than newbtown.

The joubert wagon feels too fast. If he's been bad enough to get lynched, I didn't notice.

This calls for a reread... at not midnight.

I reread and changed my mind.

Unvote ChubbsMcLubbs, Vote Joubert

Chubbs isn't off the hook tomorrow, though. Add "dipping out of the thread to avoid having to deal with pressure" to the list of his tells.

Yeah, the fire kill either hit the doc's target or an Ice mafioso. Although I don't see the point on speculating which it was since there's no way to ever know for sure.

I haven't FOSed you.

On my Chubbs vote: I wanted to put it there until he came around and said something useful. Disappearing under pressure like he did yesterday is not cool, and this is a joint "I still suspect you" and "post some content" vote.

Speaking of which, Chubbs, that last post doesn't help your cause. I don't have anything I want you to respond to, but you could do us the service of posting your opinions. Who do you think is scummy? Who do you think is town? Why?

So, just to be clear, Alabaska, you think my brilliant scum strategy is to try as hard as I can to get my only partner lynched? Bussing is a fine tell and all, but there's a line between bussing and stupidity.
armlx wrote:Vote Ged

Quick hammer turnarounds like that are beyond scummy.
Why? Wouldn't it have been much easier for a scum me to get a bunch of townie points and stay off the wagon? It was easy to see I'd be under pressure today if joubert showed up town.

roflcopter wrote:ged, i'm sure you thought he was an enemy scum when you hammered, thus your "could have gotten townie points for doing nothing" argument is null. hell, i bet you thought you'd get townie points for hammering a scum. especially in this format, scum have every reason to scumhunt for the opposing team. no crosskills, so its the only way to get rid of them.
Fair enough, I hadn't though of it like that.

Which is odd, considering I used the same argument against you for clearing Chubbs yesterday.
Alabaska J wrote:This is exactly what I thought you would say. My opinion isn't changing, sorry.
Just because you knew ahead of time that I'd point out why your argument is bad doesn't make it less bad.
