Jailing the Forensic Investigator Night 1 and/or night 2 is the best play if we KNOW that both players are pro town. Which is something we don't actually know.
Wrong. The right way to play small towns is assume everyone is town for action using purposes until something occurs to contradict that or doing so would be dangerous.
On preview: it seems that you, armlx, are the only one to attack my random vote of no lynch
You know, you do have 4 votes on you for that reason.
Despite not offering a random vote yourself, or making a move to imply that you believed we were out of, or never began a random voting stage.
I feel set up discussion is going to be more effective then random votes in this game.

Beware of set up discussion. It detracts from any meaningful reads of alignment. (although it is useful to some extent)

Does it? I believe it has brought up reads of Winter's alignment based on how he wanted the jail keeper directed.

My bad, I read the people's later posts as having agreed with the NL thing and leaving their votes on, which in retrospect is nothing more then minorly implied.

I read the votes on Winter's wagon (nice bit of alliteration there :P) as being in keeping with the random stage - more banter than an actual attempt at a quicklynch.

As for role direction... yeah, I'm not too keen on it. Letting the scum know what's coming erases much of an ability's function (especially in the case of mine and Twomz's). With roles dropping every night and day we should be extracting as much benefit from them as we can.

Even if he was seriously voting NL, it's understandable in a smalltown. I don't see it as antitown. Also don't see any need to move my random vote.

The stage is a lie.

Also... I agree that deciding on night choices just based on role is probably a bad idea, but at the same time, roles like jailkeeper both protect and
block
. So even though they do protect people that could be scum, they also stop them from acting and help us determine the bad guys.

Scum will also know whether or not they are likely Jailkeeper targets. Being that we have no Doc, he will be forced to play a more protective role for now. That is something they are likely to take advantage of.

BTW, the no lynch vote isn't the reason I voted for Winter. It doesn't really bother me that much.

It's kinda like no lynching in dethy imo. Although I don't know if that actually nets the town a day in a 5 player game anyway.

Why did you, then? If there's a reason beyond the apparent (humour), please let us know.

What humor?

But seriously, why does my first vote of the game have to be for a reason? I just need a reason to unvote... which winter is actually getting close to getting to.

The "reasoning" you gave for the vote appeared to be humourous.

It doesn't - I was only interested in whether it
was

Yeah my vote was random.

Also, if I die, is my alignment revealed? I believe so. So a delayed kill late game may be a good idea.

Whew. Sorry, I didn't even get on the computer yesterday.

Seems like most of the discussion today is revolving around me and who I'm targeting tonight... heh.

I, on the other hand, am left to wonder if I'll even survive night 1. There's no one who can "protect the protector" so to speak. C'est la vie... (or maybe C'est la mort?)

Someone posted an interesting idea. Motivator targets me, then I target King and Claus. Now we have another JK to take over for me when I die. I'm not sure what to think about that just yet, but I am worried about the potential of creating a scum JK.

Hell, at that point the scum wouldn't even have to kill me, they could just JK me every night.

(this actually spawns a somewhat funny question: What happens when two JKs target each other? Divide by zero error?)

Anyway,
unvote

Not quite sure what I'm going to do yet, but we have time.

This is a funny image considering your flavor text. I'm just picturing two large Neanderthals embracing.

In any case, I agree with shaft.ed. We can have some setup discussion, but too much makes it too easy for scum to hide.

Just be aware that if Claus is targetted by the jailkeeper tonight (or any other night for that matter), he won't be able to absorb any more abilities.

Also, where has Pug89 gone? Can we have a
prod
?

Yeah that's the ideal situation, whether or not it happens is another story since it's so choreographed optimal may not be optimal. Also don't foget the Watcher is also a protective role. Scum generally don't want a 1:1 trade for a NK, they're supposed to be free.

Because he's in Jail, no one can target him subsequently. See order of roles resolutions.

He can still absorb them at a later time though.
