Posting and Voting
  1. purple
    is my color. Don't use it.
  2. Do not use invisible, encrypted, or ridiculously small text. Everything posted in the game thread should be public. Keep font sizes above tiny as a general rule.
  3. All votes should be written in the VOTE: Player tag. Bolded votes are acceptable but make sure to write the word vote into your vote. Unvotes are helpful, but not necessary.
  4. Votes may
    not
    be contained inside quote, code, area, or spoiler tags.
  5. A lynch is reached and day ends when a majority of all players, half players alive plus one, are voting for the same person. If this is not achieved by deadline a no lynch shall occur. If a mechanic changes this it will be announced in thread.

Activity and Deadlines
  1. This games has day phases last 10 real life days, excepting Day 1 which will last 14 days, and night phases that last 3 real life days. Accelerated nights will always be available but everyone must opt in.
  2. Failure to post once every 48 hours, will result in a prod.
  3. If you fail to respond to your prod in 24 hours, you will be replaced. You may return before being replaced at the cost of an additional counted prod.
  4. If you get three prods without improvement you will automatically be replaced.
  5. If you are going V/LA please notify me in advance.
  6. A replacement may request that phase be extended up to 48 hours upon replacing in.
  7. Being V/LA over the night will result in a force replacement without notice if you have not been active during your V/LA period.
  8. If you wish to take your old slot after replacing out, you may request to do so, however it is subject to my approval. If you replace out due to inability to get along with another player you will not be allowed to take your slot back under any circumstances.

Setup Info
  • Damage system: each player starts with 2 hit points. There are ways a player may take damage, as well as ways to prevent or undo damage. Taking unmitigated damage twice will result in death. Damage received in a night will not be made known to the players.
  • Nightly updates: All players will receive nightly mod feedback containing any action results it relevant effects to the player. There exist roles that may mildly impact these messages.
  • Miscellaneous: all private topics have encryptorless daytalk.

Scattered objects (Game Mod): all the other objects in the game rest on your surface, and you support them by providing moderator services such as vote counts and flips.
How do I make a table? (Question Answering): You will do your best to answer any questions relevant to the setup or mechanics honestly and impartially.

You win when all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town is alive.

Day 1 StartFollowing the crazy party with the worst, Gamma Emerald decided to figure out if he could discover the issue with his clock. He had set the clock on his work table, and then left to get a drink. As he drank his water he started clearing some space on his desk, when he noticed a strange aura coming out of the clock.
Suddenly, his felt his body and mind being pulled into something. The next thing he knew he was stuck as the same work table he was just clearing. "Oh great", he thought, "I wonder how long it will take my friends to worry?"

It was almost a month later when they came to see what happened. "I know he's sometimes bad about announcing personal issues but he generally doesn't completely vanish", spoke mastina with a worried tone. "I'm sure there's some reason to this", EspressoPatronum explained.
At this point, eth0s called out, "hey guys, what's the deal with the clock?" Korina exclaimed, "oh, I think Aristophanes mentioned that the party he was at last year went crazy due to some clock, maybe it was this one?" RadiantCowbells and schadd_ then left to get something, while the rest looked at the desk, not knowing the fate that would soon befall them.

Elbirn was to first to speak, asking, "hey, why do I feel so weird?" Gamma Emerald heard this and said, "hey guys, did the clock do something to you too?" jjh927 said, "I think? What just happened?"
Gamma went on to explain, "it seems the clock is extremely cursed, and I think the curse might actually be spreading to some of the other objects on this table. We seem to be stuck as inanimate objects. I want you to see if you can't find any corrupted items. If you do, try throwing them off the table, I bet that would get them away from the click enough to break the effect.
"Okay, but how?", Menalque asked. "We don't really have limbs." Gamma suggested, "I've discovered I'm somehow capable of moving the object I'm inhabiting. The same should apply to you, so when the time comes you can group up and shove the suspect off". Elements spoke up, "well you heard the man, let's crack this case!"

Hello, I have some time on my hands so I'll do some cursory mod work. However I'd like to apologize for a small shortcoming I have realized. I seem to have not been vigilant in making sure schadd_ kept up the accoutrements of the game, especially the daystart PM specialization. If a large portion of you request I retroactively provide these for Day 2 and Day 3, I will do so. Otherwise I will simply advocate for the maintenance of this facility going forward. In addition I will consider writing flavor for existing and future flips, but know that I will for certain have flavor for the ending.

Game OverThe investigation had been going well. Elements and TemporalLich had already been discovered as corrupted and pushed off the table. Unfortunately there was also a mistake where Korina was assumed to be corrupted, and Son of a Shepherd and TiphaineDeath were inexplicably lying in pieces on the table. Things turned in the third break in the inquisition, however, as eth0s was found in a new state, blackened by some yet unknown force. A strange aura rose from his location, and it was the same as the ones from Elements and TrmporalLich; they had found another corrupted item.

It attempted to float back to the clock, but suddenly RadiantCowbells and schadd_ returned with a rather gaudy sledgehammer, quickly ran to the clock and smashed its face in. There was a massive puff of the corrupted aura, and then it suddenly dissipated in a flash.

Suddenly everyone was back to themselves, even the ones taken out already, though they were out of sorts. RadiantCowbells explained that the hammer has the power to dispel curses. After hearing this, Gamma was intrigued, whating to know why such a thing existed, as well as what took them so long to come in. They couldn't answer the first question, but said that apparently the clock had made the door inoperable until the last corrupted item besjdes the clock was out of commission. Gamma was troubled by this, and asked if he could hold onto the hammer for a time. He wondered what other cursed items were around in other places...

I don't know why Gamma didn't just call ethos's role an Alien because combined roleblocker/rolestopper is an existing role, Alien, which has been around onsite since before I joined (it predates 2008), and which has been Normalized as a whitelisted role.
Calling it combined makes it fit in with all those modifiers

I could see it plausibly powering up to separate roleblocking and rolestopping
Also I hate how it is called that
Like how does roleblock + rolestop = "IT WAS ALIENS"

Btw Menalque and Adorable would have cancelled each other if they targeted the same person, never noted this but they have inverted effects (they are essentially - or +1 action the next night)

I made the roles then randed aligns, then tweaked any roles I thought needed it

My next idea I want to do is a game with underwhelming or mismanaged roles and mechanics in past mafia games. I'm down to take ideas but it most likely won't be a UPick style game
