logic is to logick as magic is to magick
logick and logic both have logos as a root.
Unlike the logical systems familiar to those with a backgroud in the social sciences, logick takes Gödel's incompleteness theorems into account when attempting to generate a prudent policy decision.-

This made me laugh. In my experience, it's not at all unusual for Adel to fixate on something that I would consider of questionable significance and use it as a bulletproof scumtell.curiouskarmadog wrote:Adel, you are not usually so narrowed minded.
Yeah, thanks again for that.Adel wrote:The only other game I can recall being in with ckd was House mafia where I rashly used a dayvig on another townie because I didn't stop to consider the larger set of possibilities.
I probably need to do a player-by-player post at this point - I'm having trouble organising things in my head. From my first read of the posts I'm catching up on, ckd looks a little scummy (his defence to Adel was particularly troublesome), Adel and Sim look ok, and I'm not sure about cicero, vollkan, Fonz and shaft.ed yet. Jitsu seems slightly off from what I saw of him in vollkan's game, but that's a back-of-the-mind thing right now. Oman's "I'm not voting" post was definitely different for him, and I'm not sure if this is mitigated by the fact that he pointed this out himself.
Something more thorough will come, pending some note-taking on my part."You were doing well until everyone died."

Adel, you forgot Mini 458(?) you pushed for my lynch all day, until the end you "changed your mind"..I was still lynched...I was town, you were scum.
for some reason when thinking about Adel I saw an intelligent woman who was open minded and openly reviewed all possibilites...if I had time I could reread those games to figure out why. But Adel is right....she did Dayvig a townie in house without thinking it through or even consulting the town, which contributed to a loss...she did ride Flay hard in Underground, when he was a townie....so yeah, she is known to tunnel vision, so apparently I am pulling that vision of Adel out of no where...
so I guess it isnt out of character for adel to only see the negative without reviewing all possibilities....
will respond to other post later with time.NO YOU'RE OVER DEFENSIVE-

Which is ironic really, because I always find that the "smell test" smells like bullshit (in keeping with the digestive theme, the same applies to "gut")Adel wrote: yeah, but like chunky milk, you just don't pass the smell test.
I wrote my pithy remark about "gut" and then see it mentioned in your post.Simenon wrote: Vollkan: It's a gut feeling based around the timing of your post and shaf.ted's post. It's not worth voting on.
Define "good". I don't see how a smell test assertion can rightly be considered a point at all, yet alone a "good" one.Cicero wrote: I think Adel's point on Vollkan is good
Do you think town would not wish to ask what another player thinks of them? I think that town does have a good motivation for pointing out omissions in reviews. For one thing, it forces a thorough record and, secondly, it forces more reasoning out of somebody. The fact it waves an "I'm lurking" sign hardly serves to make it scummy, given that scum has just as little motivation to be limelighted as a lurker.Adel wrote: well if I was in ckd-scum's shoes and my scum buddy left me off of a list like that my impule would be "how do I mitigate the risk of other players identifying a connection between us" -- answered by making a post like ckd's.
I have trouble understanding the motivation for ckd-town making that post, lit is like waving a sign saying "I'm lurking!".
I can also see the posibility of ckd-scum making that post if cicero is town in an attempt to link the two of them... but I think it is more probable that it is part of the "we have to interact somehow" problem scummates face.
unvote, vote:curiouskaramdog
I never said that Jitsu was waffling (that would be hypocrisy in the extreme). The closest I came to doing that was criticizing his speculation as to motive, and I was clear that my reason for doing so was that such comments serve no utility and are potentially scummy manipulation.shaft.ed wrote: Cicero I'm a bit confused that you could simultaneously agree with Adel that vollkan's Jitsu case seems disingenuous, while agreeing with a lot of his points about waffling.
Waffling is a matter of personal writing style and I don't think it is something that has any game-relevance.-

Okay, so this game has picked up considerably since the last time I had a chance to read through it. First thing of note is that the meta-guessing seems to have died down quite a bit in the last 5 pages or so; good to see. There are a lot of suspicions being thrown around here as well, which is making the read confusing.
Unvote, vote: Jitsu. I don't like how he disappeared as soon as people started to question his waffling. Unvoting Simenon because I haven't seen anything else particularly scummy from him recently, and the game has moved on beyond a wagon hop vote.
FoS: CKD. Post #288 smells like doggy-doo.
I'd like everyone simply to list where there current major suspicions lie; I'm not asking for you to back those up with reasons at this moment, but I would like a more concrete record on how people feel about this game so far. The suspicion-jumping by multiple players throughout this game has made it difficult without spending a couple of hours with pen and paper rereading to follow exactly everyone's thought process.
I want Jitsu's reaction to the accusations brought against him as well.Show[i]Frisch weht der Wind

my last question to shanba still stands though..and you should consider my vote still there.
Is this an unvote of a scumbuddy getting nervous about the rate of acceleration of his buddy's wagon?-

heh, thanks Shaft.ed.
I just checked for Shanba on site after my last post. Turns out Shaft.ed said on June 20 in the V/LA thread that he had one more week of a horrible exam schedule. So maybe we'll see him in here soonishly. I should have checked that before grumping about him. Factoring in BillyTwilight's new baby, we have a reasonably full and active game then going forward.
More substantive posting after I finish this thing I am doing at work. (grumble. stoopid work!)-

so after no posting from shanba for four days ckd voted for him. two days later ckd unvotes him. four days of no voting ='s a vote, but six days of no voting ='s an unvote?-

the wagon shifted to shamba.. up to lynch -3, right? so if you wanted an answer to you question (the explicit reason you gave for your vote) I think that pressure whould've been a good thing.
not a reason to unvote.
