No, as cults would never die if this was true. At worst, the remaining culties get a kill, and thats fairly rare.he/she can pass on the recuiting ability to another cult member

1) Happy B-day Armlx
2) Happy S-day CKD
3) In my experience all the cultists die when the leader dies, but I guess I could see them surviving without the leader."It's not a logical inconsistency. I thought so too, but that's because IRC recognized the former. I think the mainstream idea on MS is that the cults survive with out recruiting.Twomz wrote: 3) In my experience all the cultists die when the leader dies, but I guess I could see them surviving without the leader.

Happy scum day CKD.Happy birthday Armlx.
That usually does not happen. There are 3 main options, in order of probability3) In my experience all the cultists die when the leader dies, but I guess I could see them surviving without the leader.
1) Cultists live as an anti-town mason group.
2) Cultists revert.
3) Above, but with a kill
Mild FOS Twomzfor assuming such an odd scenario, unless you can link to the game that made you assume this.Away Wednesday the 24th through the 31st-

If a cult can no longer recruit, then it cant gain power. And, as we would know the members of said zombie cult, and its leaders, it wouldnt take long to deal with them. So, I was saying if eliminating the cult leader takes the power away from the cult, we dont necessarily need to deal with the cult issue today. Of course, this is all assuming there even is a cult at all.armlx wrote:
I'm confused by the logic here, but you agreeing is a start. In that case, I would agree the cult can wait.-

I believe all IRC cults died when the leader died... you have to remember that I stopped playing for 9 months and I don't remember games very well, but I do remember seeing cults that suicided... I just don't remember which games they were in.
The only time I was recruited was actually a mafia recruition in Cultural Revolution, which is why I don't remember a cult recruition."It's not a logical inconsistency. Yeah it's been a long time since i've been in a game with cult of any kind (like it was before i left 3 years ago.) but i never remember the cult dying when the leader was killed. I seem to remember my experience being that they it went one of 2 ways. They reverted back to townies because without the influence of their benevolent leader the brainwashing wore off, OR they remained cultist and had to rely on influencing the lynches enough to get themselves to a majority (so essentially they became a seperate mafia wihtout a kill)Late twenties, early Thursdays-

Regardless of whether or not they die right off the bat when the CR dies, I don't think it's worthwhile to hunt them down just yet. Again, for the reason that we will know all of the recruits if we know it exists(resurrected players). And for this reason, I think the death cult theory is less likely to be legit.
So... Where's Stark?-

did I say it matter? Where did I say it matter? I just wanted to know if someone here DID make a reviving role, if so I wanted the specs of that designed role...the silent speaker wrote:I've seen a death cult, FWIW.
CKD, what does it matter if no one sayss they made a reviving role? People have been coming back.
do you really think I am questioning people being revived?-

I think the question though about the resurecting role is people want to know that if it was made by one of us, were there restrictions on it, or was it made to create a death cult, etc.
Also...can someone summarize the whole Stark logic? I know part of it is the fact that he has been like actively lurking somewhat...but I'm confused in much other then that.-

Hi Kison,
I've been sick lately, and am going into surgery tomorrow morning, which I think is a pretty valid excuse for lurking
In regards to the cult, I still really don't understand why people think there's a zombi-cult.
Has anyone claimed designing such a role?
Also, a vote count would be really super sometime soon.-

stark: the reason a zombie cult is a possibility is because the resurrections we've seen -- i.e., apparently unlimited resurrections (even if only of nightkills) is typically an overpowered ability for town to have.
That said, I can't get behind the Starkwagon at this point. Sure, his pattern has been quite scummy -- but we've also got an innocent investigation on him (from twomz). And if twomz is zombie cult, he's not mafia, whereas Stark is unlikely to be cult -- he's never died, and if there's a cult recruiter, it's presumably the resurrectionist (ie, tss).
So while it's certainly possible that stark is scum, I don't think he's the lynch for today, particularly with our other scummy people from previous days on his bandwagon.Did I say too much?
