The handcuffs are military model handcuffs. They are made of strong steal. The handcuffs were not too big or small for the hands they were holding. On the handcuff, you can see a mark with the letter "E".

My question is how did they have an object sharp enough to cut their hand off in the closet with them? It was either the kidnapper gave it to them as a cruel, Jigsaw-like game or they had it already when locked in there.

If we only find part of a body but the person is still alive, like if they lost all their limbs, would a body discovery announcement play?

The body discovery announcement would happen if 3 conditions were met:

1 - If any parts of the dead body were found (yes their nail would work! Even their ash would work - it doesn't have to be a body)
2 - The murder, is a murder of the game participants and if those participants are not alive.
3 - If three living participants discover the body. This can happen at different times - It's not necessary three people finding the body at the same time. It's not necessary that same parts of the body gets discovered by all 3 people (for example someone can find a hand, someone a fingernail, another one a foot)

So some could be murdered but still alive, or not murdered but dead, and the body discovery announcement would not play?
