I assume so. Like I said, I was struggling to put my information into context and that's part of the reason. Panzer's apparent contradiction in his knowledge of the situation between his immediate reaction and his delayed claim, plus the fact that it does not correlate with the information I have indicates that he is scum.

Dizzy is the role cop. I didn't think she was cop until she said Batttlemage then I started thinking, her previous reaction with the Battlemage thing(who is regarded as unexcellent) started me thinking. I didn't know what the handicap was(could have been anything) but it makes sense that bad results are given for me seeing I have a ridiculous ability if I make it that long.

Dizzy- The post implied that I knew you got a result on me that had something to do with battlemage. I didn't claim immediately because I wanted you to give me the okay(it is your investigation and role) By the way wouldn't you think someone would counterclaim me, buddha isn't exactly someone who isn't excellent or unheard of. A fake claim with someone that common isn't exactly easy.

Given the length of history and the number of players in this game, and knowing the one confirmed excellent person so far - Jack Sparrow - I think it would be relatively safe claiming almost anyone. The chances of you hitting an actual role one of us has is small.

That explanation does not fit what you said. Not only that, your claim is unverifiable, more than a tad over-powered and the kind of thing that seems designed to make townies desperate to have you survive to whatever point your omniscience kicks in. Add that to the fact that, despite having nothing to do with your claimed role and no mention of him in the explanation you gave other than a vague feeling, you've now outed me as a role cop seem to suggest you know exactly what's going on, that your role is Battlemage and not Buddha (who everyone would agree is excellent and the role you've claimed makes your statement that if you were lying you'd be counterclaimed a pure fallacy since I severely doubt anyone else would be given or claim that particular role) and that you are decidedly unexcellent.

Last night, I investigated Panzer because he was randomly selected out of the people I was strugling to read. The result came back as Battlemage. By all accounts, Battlemage is more likely to be unexcellent than excellent, and his claim is completely different, and is someone of whom there is no doubt as to his excellentness. I submit that he is scum, and should be lynched, ASAP.

Hm. Panzer hasn't been on site since he'd claim, I'd like to hear his side, even though my gut is saying Dizzy's Correct.

Dizzy can confirm my claim too, which would be nice, if we want her to.

Discuss that^ -- do we want Dizzy to select a non-me role of her choosing, which has long run benefit, or to select me, because you still want to lynch me for some reason and Dizzy's confirming my role would assuage your doubt?

HM. Panzer is saying he was warned in his role PM of a handicap having to do with Battlemage.

I could see there being a role that has Battlemage be the result when you're role cop'd, I forget where but I've seen fake results like that in the past (I've played in a game over AIM, for example, where the role name "Jesus" got the result "Extremely Stylish Bedoin") so these things are not completely unheard of.

I want to re-read Panzer's and Dizzy's past few posts with intense scrutiny to see if he's being consistent. My gut is now saying that he is though.

I like my vote where it is for the time being.

That's why I'm only saying I'm 95% certain he's scum, because there's a possibility that a) he's some kind of Miller (which I suppose is the minimum handicap you'd expect for such a highly powered character) and b) that I might have sanity issues. Against this is the difference in tone between his original reaction to me bringing up Battlemage, which indicated some level of certainty and prompted a full claim, and his eventual claim in which he referred to a handicap that he assumed had something to do with Battlemage. That's pushed me closer towards him being scum than I would otherwise assume.

I find a) probable, and b) as not explaining this situation. I am beginning to think I find a) more probable than not a), and that Panzer's town, and you're town Dizzy, despite being incorrectly 95% sure.

Well wait, while he didn't say he was told he had a handicap that had to do with Battlemage, explicitly, he did strongly hint at such a handicap in 577. You mentioning Battlemage was enough to make him claim, he thought you might know more.

How is that completely different? He knew the handicap had to do with Battlemage, but that his Battlemage-handicap could have been anything.

He might have thought previously that there was a scum named Battlemage who if he targeted him at night he'd die, or that if 'Battlemage' died he'd die also.

I dunno, I find Panzer to be legit. And you can't forget his D1 play pushing the Lloyd wagon.

Also, if he were scum and his role name were Battlemage, I think he could have come up with some Battlemage pro-town role. Granted, many don't like Battlemage, but that seems a lot easier to pull than this story.

Also, Dizzy, have you investigated someone else? No need to answer which one or say which name you got (at least not yet), but if you have, does that result make you doubt (or not doubt) your sanity? Also, does your role give any hints about you not getting the exact role (instead of, e.g., some kind of hint about the role?)

No. I've only had one investigation, on account of us having only one night. There's nothing in the role description that makes me doubt sanity, but I would expect that if there were sanity issues. It's very clear, though. Once per night, I can investigate someone, and I get to know their rolename. I investigated Panzer, for the afore mentioned reason of struggling to get a read on him, and his rolename came up as Battlemage.

Also, you SUCK for questioning the excellentness of the Backstreet Boys!

I had this thought myself, but then I thought excellenfe is subjective, and when I checked them out on google, their sales figures were impressive so who knows.

My question would be, the lyrics you quoted as being the reason your character can discern peoples roles, was a song about them showing the shape of their hearts, not seeing the shape of someone elses, which didn't quite ring true with me.

That said, I am leaning towards believing Dizzy's claim, as it would be a poor fake claim in the long run, as we will now be pestering Dizzy for info every day, and if it is a fake claim this will soon become apparent.

Panzer has done a good job of making me wonder if they were both telling th truth, but I am in the Panzer scum camp at the moment for the following reasons.

When Dizzy first said "Battle Mage" Panzer instantly changed tack and unvoted. Then after a delay we got the claim. I think the delay was because Panzer was constructing a claim. I think his role name is indeed Battle Mage which was why he instantly changed strategy when Dizzy called him on it. The following posts about a role handicap that may be something to do with battle mage did not ring true. If he were truly some kind of role cop miller I think he would have known this and would have been able to say so explicitly when he claimed.
