I felt sorry for Guardian here. He was basically parachuted into a near impossible position. And in the day 3 situation we had here, the last scum is always going to stick out like a sore thumb.

Weak Doc? I guess I missed that...I kind of panicked because I was I believe rather really close to missing a nightkill.

I don't think that would have changed anything...

Glork wrote:The setup may have favored town slightly, but I think it was more gameplay (bad kill by scums, successful vig N1 by the town) that made this look easy.
I agree with this. Plus that nice, big list that The Jester-scum left behind for us really helped us focus on who was likely town and who was likely scum. A pretty good deal of research went into that N1 vig choice while the N2 vig choice... not so much since I thought scotmany12 was obvscum. I was thinking that we would be celebrating after N2 but then much to my surprise I learned scotmany12 was actually a townie. :/

The mass claim during Test 3 also helped out a lot. Since I knew I was the vig, I was almost certain that the rest of the town had to be vanillas, though I was shocked to learn that Ether had claimed Roleblocker. Guardian's claim stood out as a blatant lie to me so when I mentioned that lynching Ether or Guardian was the only choice at that point, I chose Guardian instead of Ether because Ether's claim just made a lot more sense with this set-up. And then thinking about the Night 1 NK choice logically, I came to the conclusion that it had to be the work of slightly inexperienced scum and AWOL scum buddies.

I had a lot of fun with this one. Thanks, Glork, for modding!

Gorrad would never have been confirmed, and his claim was very highly questioned by some. I think it was very significant.

You were within ten hours of the deadline. IIRC, I waited until the deadline had passed before processing night choices, because I considered your choices to be "tentative."

There's probably a lesson to draw here about fakeclaiming power roles that can be used in a productive way. Guardian's target would both inevitably survive the night
and
be cleared. 'Course, I had a dangerous clearing-people-stopping-kills role and I was the other person who needed some level of confirming, and no one saw that coming.

Guardian's gunsmith-immunity is absolutely hilarious.

Aside from that, everything I have to say has already been said by Patrick.

I still would like to re-iterate this Portal-Post.

In my re-read of the events and each person; my deal on Scot (Since I didn't have much.)

"scotmany12 - Seems okay, asking questions where questions should be. "They were all random and meaningless." (Concerning the votes on himself.)

Didn't we have some fun though? Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said 'Goodbye' and you were like 'NO WAY!' and then I was all 'We pretended we were going to murder you'? That was great! "

Great theme...

Oh, yes.

This game was too separated from its theme, I thought. Our claims didn't even bring up flavor; the only manifestation was YWN.

This might be kinda embarrassing but I had no idea Portal was a video game until I looked it up on Wikipedia somewhere around mid-day 1. ;o

I thought that by killing or lynching people, certain conditions would change within the game or something depending on their alternate non-Mafia related role. I thought of actual time portals or something zapping us from one universe to another. :S

Incognito reiterates my point, and YWN's: If you haven't played Portal, you really should find a way to; it's amazing. Almost every sentence is quotable....that's what probably helped make this Theme Game possible. :P

Agreed.

Now that our trials are over, where is the cake? Or the Party?

The Party is a lie.

After the test (which is over) you will be, missed. (By GLoRK)

lol, I'm sorry I basically stopped playing near the end, exams got the best of me. Good game though, some of the stuff against YWN and Gorrad really got me thinking they were the scum, surprised it turned out so differently.

Great job town in a well deserved win. I usually don't do this but I'm in "I told you so" mode because my constant pursuit of FlameaxeScum paid off :P

The Jester wrote:You guys should be happy I got YWN to play this game, without him I don't think I'd have had as much fun.

Would love to play again if at all possible, good stuff that. Ey YWN, didn't you have fun? :D
This game was plenty of fun. Awesome theme, awesome role, and most important - NO MAFIAS KILLING THEIR PARTNERS!

Seriously, never give this guy the Devil role. You'll deeply regret it.

(For those who didn't get the funnay, try playing the game then re-reading the thread.)

I have no idea what this means, but I'll take it as a compliment.

Well, the game is over. Back to lurking now.

You're just upset I got you lynched, seriously Seraph as a cop? One of the silliest fake-claims ever. :P

I'm surprised Glork didn't tell the mafia at the end of the game:

"I'd just like to point out that you were given every opportunity to succeed."

The quotes never end....

Group B : Flameaxe, Gorrad, Scotmany, maybe Sir Tornado
Group C : M&M, YourWorstNightmare
Group D: Jester and Ether (still dont have a read on them)

Shame I was never here on time to defend myself, but luckily you lynched me and not Machiavellan.

Anyway, I particularly enjoyed the "Still Alive" vs "The Ones Who Are Dead" status in the first post. Congratulations to Glork for the great setup. :D

I thought your groupings were actually pretty good. Group A ended up being all town. Group B got 2 of the 3 scum. Group C are also all town.
