I got a jynx into a gym. And fortunately figured out how to collect the income for that shortly before the gym got taken over by another team :X

I'm moving to silicon valley in a week and a half. I'm hoping it has different pokemon than suburban Boston. It'd be cute if they put electric types there or something.

I think one of the things I'm most concerned with atm is how playable the gym scene will be if you're not *the strongest*. The five gyms near me that i can see on the map from my house have had a lot of turnover though, which is a good thing.

There are no Kakuna candies - there's only candies for the basic pokemon, so you can still level it up with Weedle candies.

Sudo, from what I've read online, my impression is you can evolve whenever. Probably the highest cp pokemon you have of a species.

I went out for an hour about an hour ago. Caught lots of stuff and saw other people playing the game for the first time which was nice. I went out bc there were two lured stops near me but by the time I got to the one I was going to, the lure ended... and there were two more slightly farther! Apparently this is a decently active area.

Interesting. I have one doduo that hatched from an egg.

My area mostly has fucktons of what you would expect (rattata, pidgey, spearow, fair amount of zubat) but there are a few somewhat unexpected ones.

The biggest is by far, my area has a TON of drowzee. Like, half of the gyms are guarded by really strong hypnos. Also a fair amount of gastly.

ive been to plenty of gyms with a max capacity of 2 or even 1
I thought the default max capacity was 2.

My impression was that gyms at level 1 were the result of people attacking the level-2 gym somewhat but not being able to defeat the strongest poke there.

I saw a level 8 gym at one point.

I think I read that 10 is the max.

I popped my first lucky egg today in a pretty populated area with 4 adjacent pokestops, 2-3 of which were lured. I evolved something like 10 pidgeys, 5 rattatas, and one each of a few species which also gave me double xp on a few new pokedex entries (golbat, metapod, kakuna). I was literally either catching or evolving for the entire lucky egg duration (I got lucky and the app didn't crash at all during it!)

Went from barely level 12 to barely level 15. Then spent the next hour and a half getting halfway to 16.

(but really gyms seem pretty meh to me mostly because of lag)

So moved from Boston area to Mountain View today. Lots of interesting discoveries in the land of pokemon go. Specifically that the pokemon here are totally different, with the exceptions of things like rattata/spearow/pidgey/zubat etc. I haven't seen a drowzee yet, for one, and I've seen many pokemon (either on radar or in encounters) that I hadn't seen at all in Boston (sandshrew, ekans, pikachu, ponyta to name a few). There are some pokemon I've seen a lot of that were in Boston but just uncommon there (the most notable example is paras).

I was at a lured stop at LAX long enough to get three spawns there as well: a rattata, a pidgey, and an ekans, the last of which surprised me. The only reason I already had ekans and sandshrew was because I hatched both of them from eggs.
