Still got that new thread smell. I just finished Burial at Sea Ep 1, and I really liked it. It's awesome to go wander Rapture with better graphics and more people.

So I'm debating buying a 2/3DS for my commutes, which are getting progressively more tedious. Besides Fire Emblem, what games should I be looking at picking up?

Spoiler:
Man, the airship fight was impossible for me until I actually looked around and saw the target. I thought it was just a long drawn-out tower defence the first time
the moment I realized absolutely none of your choices make any difference to anything. At the very least your actions should've been reflected in Clem's character.
Clem was the best part, so I'm still kinda hyped for S2.
This is a valid criticism of the game. Keep in mind, however, that this was Telltale's first time allowing branching pathways in a story.
Gave Faith money
Defended Snow to Crane
Went to Toad's first
Did not prevent the Prince's death (Did you have to go there first?)
Grabbed Huntsman
Same choices as me. I think the last one is the only one I was really conflicted about in the moment.
Strange. I went for
Dee instead of the Huntsman, and I'm legitimately surprised more people didn't. I really don't think Huntsman is guilty nor does he have any useful information.
Also, for the record, I
didn't take Grendel's arm
, as I assume most people did. I also
didn't tell Beast about Beauty
, which will probably have ramifications in episode 2. I also didn't
hurt Toad
.
I did all of these, except I grabbed the Woodsman. I figured Dee was too far to catch up to him, and I wanted some information more than none.

Do you think he died?
I think yes, but I also think that it's not entirely relevant. The story's about Liz, and hopefully the next half is the Fall. I'm intrigued at how she'd interact with Downfall Rapture

If a Comstock exists, then a Booker should exist who was on the other side of the portal.
Also, if this is Elizabeth jihading against Comstocks, then that means there's potentially at least one Booker who is able to freely exist
In post 267, Zachrulez wrote:So we have a PS4 that's supposed to be coming on Tuesday. Now we just need to figure out what games we want for it.
I have like 7 games, basically all them aside from the sports games. AC4 was awesome if you didnt buy it on PS3/360 yet
Funny enough I put off buying the sports games cause I knew they were getting next gen releases and there was no point in having them on last gen if we were getting a next gen system.
Nope, NHL didn't get a release on this gen.
Only sport game I wanted and they fucked me
I'm playing NHL 14 on PS3 right now. Is it not being ported up? Questionable decisions by EA.
What was even the point of bringing back Christa and Omid, given that they kill Omid and ditch Christa in the first five minutes? They could have simply decided that Clem never found them, left their fates ambiguous, and the story would be exactly the same.
Krista is heavily rumored to be the person in Episode 2 (along with KENNY and some people are being absolutely dumb and saying that its Lee/Omid my bet is on Vernon or someone who just don't know that Clementine met within the 18 month jump)
Reck wrote:Uh, yes, and yes... which is
why I saved Nick.
Spoiler:
Just like Pete knew that the dog bit Clementine, right? I have to say that most decisions in Telltale games are fairly distributed 50-50 (exceptions being keeping Lily on the bus and choosing what-his-name over sex-appeal Carla) but this is the one that
I'm sure
is made to test you. You can see that Pete got hurt by the zombie but the game never shows you that he got bit. Some people are saying that there's a good assumption that it is a bite due to the fact that the preview for the next episode, if you pick Pete, goes with his "cut off leg and you ok" theory (which we already know is false due to the fact that this is what Lee did and he did not turn out ok) but the key point is that Pete is part of the house and due to the previous rumors, assuming that the next episode (which is named a House divided) is either titled that due to Pete's wound/Nick's actions or due to the Foogler (or whatever its name was) that killed the people near the fishtraps
Spoiler:
As a note, the "Chop off your leg and you're fine" thing is established in both the comics and the TV show as something that is done to a character successfully (Dale in the comics, Hershel in the show).

Ended up grabbing the Zelda bundle, so I get Link Between Worlds with the DS itself. Probably going to pick up Luigi's Mansion and Fire Emblem this weekend.

I didn't figure out what story he was supposed to be from - am I missing something obvious?
Spoiler: The Wolf Among Us Ep2
I'm glad they de-glamoured the body quickly. As soon as Snow mentioned that might be the solution, I was settling in to have to question whether or not she was the real Snow until the very last episode.
Bluebeard's a French folk-tale, about a pirate who uses his wealth to attract women, and then murders them on the honeymoon.
Spoiler:
And yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking; that the living Snow might be an imposter. I've read the first eight trades, so I would have been surprised, but I figured making up an alternate universe for their games wouldn't be beyond Taletale.
Oddly, once the glamor started failing, my first thought is that somebody was trying to destroy Snow White's reputation, with the track marks and such- that Ichabod figured out that Snow was after his job, and wanted to come up with an excuse to fire her. Turns out I had the right culprit for the wrong reason.
I picked up the first trade of the series, but I kinda want to hold off until I finish the game in case I spoil something. Really enjoyed it though. I think I have a soft spot for Bigby as a character.

In post 550, Brandi wrote:Reck you should get Dragon age Origins if you ever see it on sale. (But not the sequel) I think you'll find it's different than fallout and Skyrim. (Though if you have played New Vegas and didn't like it then I'm less confident in that assertion)
Unlike Skyrim and Fallout 3 it has excellent characters, voice acting and writing. The game play is difficult enough to be a challenge.
When I played Skyrim despite all the quests and characters I felt so... lonely. Everyone felt so artificial and stale. I could not get immersed, even visually with the highest graphical settings. The combat is just too boring and despite having several novels worth of dialogue it seemed the game was more of a "quantity" than "quality"...
Dragon age though, it's made me feel things I've never felt while playing a WRPG before. Some of the characters are complete dicks/bitches and I HATE them for their personalities and yet... they made me feel these things for a fictional character. Not something I can say about a lot of other games. Then there are some actual grey and grey morality choices where it actually would just be your personal opinion of what you're doing is right or wrong. (I've seen 10+ page debates on what was the "correct moral decision" for certain parts of the game and I still haven't come to a conclusion)
I could go on about it, but basically Dragon Age is the best thing I've played in years and I'm still not even finished with it but I'm likely going to do multiple playthroughs with different races/genders. DA is also the first game that's made me want to actually go and make a male character just for the different dialogue and interactions.
Definitely agree with this, though I'd also recommend DA2 for a different experience in the same world. The two are really separate games, though, and 2 feels rushed, but it's worth a runthrough if you can pick it up for cheap.
I'm psyched for Inquisition coming out this year. Should be nice to tie up some of the loose story ends that the last two games had.

I think you may have a valid point there. Also, I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_-ej_kxpm0 when I was looking for a gameplay video and it's bizarre and awesome.

Spoiler: Walking Dead S2E2
The only two to die for me were Matthew on the bridge and Walter, who got Tyreese'd by the pseudo-Governor. I have now added two names to my list of "people I will drop off a fucking belltower" though, because fuck you bonnie.

I didn't realize you had to shoot down the other airships, so I ended up fighting for like fifteen minutes, just holding the Vox off. Then I realized I was a moron.

GBA Emulator? Lets you save-state when you have to work, pause whenever, and is free. Or buy a 3ds and start playing through Phoenix Wright/Fire Emblem.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good Hack and Slash on PC? I'm thinking something along the lines of Dynasty Warriors or Monster Hunter. I need something mindless to fuck around with when I'm bored.

I've played through Papers, Please already, as well as a bunch of the recommended ones from up there. Only ones I haven't played are Watch_Dogs and Civ V. Planning to wait for Beyond Earth to play a Civ game, and Watch_dogs doesn't really grab my attention. Maybe there just isn't a game out right now that fits what I want to play.

In post 1357, esuriospiritus wrote:I like all the FE games I've ever played, but they all kind of have their own unique flavor due to them always adding and removing mechanics and such. Awakening does some things really well, but also takes out some things that I miss (like the rock-paper-scissors magic triangle), and some people have complained about the difficulty changes (grinding is a possibility and you can have virtually unlimited reclasses, vs not in most other FE games).
So mostly I'd say that if those changes would bother you, go play FE 7 and 8. They're originally for GBA but easily emulated if you can't track down a hard copy. If they don't bother you, go play Awakening for sure.
I didn't have much of a problem for grinding because of StreetPass. I carried my DS with me to and from the school I taught at last year in England, so I would max out my streetpass on the train. It made it really easy for me to level, though I feel like you could do the same just from overworld grinds.
I will say, I really didn't like the infinite reclassing just because it made things like my Chrom and Robin hilariously OP.

Played through the intro to DA:I a few times to test out the three classes. Thinking I'm going to end up tank-two-handed this time instead of Mage like I've been every other time. My laptop isn't exactly incredible for specs, so I find the up-close taunt fighter to be most effective.

Yeah, it's a surprisingly solid laptop for $900. Probably buying another one from the same company at Xmas when I buy my upgrade. This one's just shy of three years old, it's about time to get a new one.

If you're in to Pokemon, Heart Gold/Soul Silver and Pearl/Diamond/Platinum are both on the DS (Not sure about Black and White). There's also a bunch of Final Fantasy rereleases, and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
