On that note, however, neither Corin nor I have been able to actually get the friggin' FTP Access to work in practice.
I haven't been able to download anything more than the individual level.dat files...and I'm pretty sure I need those 50,000,000 region files too so that'll be a problem.

If you feel it's necessary, go ahead and remove access, but I haven't done a thing that would be considered dishonorable besides checking up on the FTP Access now and again, using FileZilla and the built-in Multicraft FTP. I only even look at the console to see all the cool stuff that's going on behind-the-scenes.

ALSO RELATED: if a certain map that was going to be a CTF-Style version of our Server's map was put up on Klazam's Server for an event, would people like to play?

Actually chesskid, Klazam and I found the loot chest in the secret Bedrock area under your farms before we blew everything up.
We also found the secret chests in the room with the bed and another couple with stuff around your house/down in the mines.

Players are currently defaulted to Builder, and admins to Admin.

Tell me if these are agreeable or not by the majority of the userbase.

AS WELL:
Teleporting has a cooldown of 10 or 5 mintues, i don't remember which, with a 10 second timer between typing the command and it executing, and a 30 second wait required after being attacked by a monster/damage taken (IE: no more telporting to cheat death, IE: More vanilla)
the /repair command for admins, if they are even ABLE to abuse it, will no longer repair their enchanted tools, so their aboose will be minimal. (besides, even if we did aboose it, we each have over like 5 stacks of diamonds apiece, we can afford the diamonds to make new diamond tools)
assorted other modifications i don't remember

I think that mist might have a valid point, but I will also admit that many did not previously announce such harsh opinions about the tping so I don't blame Maru for assuming that he could continue with the implementation. He is one of the admins, and I think as long as he is one he has the right to implement changes like this as long as he asks the opinions of the playerbase beforehand - which he did do. Many people didn't weigh in, many still haven't. I personally haven't used them much yet so I'm not sure what the difference will be like. However...

Guys: we can't really do anything before Maru regenerates the End.

For clarification just to make sure I'm understanding correctly (or, in case I can offer my two cents): we get a new version of The End, we kill the Dragon, then we leave the Obsidian Pillars intact while we build an Enderman Farm of epic proportions (possibly based off of this design, which will allow Level 30 to be reached in 45 seconds with no AFK-time).

Then we save The End at that point and keep the backup on hand/on the FTP.

We start mining the Obsidian Pillars (if we want) and use the Enderman Farm (if we want) and anytime we use up all the pillars we can revert to the saved back-up. Anytime somebody wants to fight the Enderdragon (or we want to host an event which would require as much) we take away the current End and allow the game to generate a new one when somebody goes to the End, which, if I'm not mistaken, will respawn the Dragon as well.

(If we need a plugin for that we'll obviously have to hope Maru can find one that's not too much work for him to implement.)

EDIT: ...and, if it's not obvious, after we're done fighting the Dragon we ditch the newly generated "End" and go back to the saved back-up with the fresh pillars and XP Farm.

I was thinking of DocM77's design. It's functionally the same though, IIRC he heavily based it off that one. Also his is prettier. :3

Yeah. Problem with that. Ideally, I'd like it to function as a bit more than an enderman farm. As well as the obvious things (enchanting table, anvils, enderchests, etc.) I'd really like there to be storage space there with signs to claim chests, and a Mindcrack-style enchanting exchange for unwanted enchanted items. I'd rather that didn't get wiped each time we re-load it.

There is a possible work-around, but we'd have to build the farm much further away than normal and it would mean a lot of messing around with the files on my part. I don't really want to risk that.

I should've clarified here too...I would've thought it was obvious that we would build all the shit we want to be permanent (e.g. EnderFarm, Enchanting Library, Item Exchange [which I like]) and

You don't need a plugin. We can just delete the new End folder and replace it with the farm one.

Why were plugins for it even invented then, if all you need to do is remove the End's Dimension folder? That's so frakkin' easy.

Mods installed through MagicLauncher kept crashing - you can't do it that way for some reason.
Tried changing configs to prevent a Block ID but I got an EventHandler error message.

...aaand the Modpack.zip or whatever you linked will not work Maru. Neither one. And my Macintosh has run perfectly with Mods prior to this thankyouverymuch.

So. Maruchan. No matter what I do, I cannot access the Modded Server.
MagicLauncher crashed on the "Mojang" screen, as does MultiMC now.

Before, I got MultiMc working but I couldn't access the server because of an EndOfStream error that appeared to be just a dirt screen with a "Done" button at the bottom. I only know it was an EndOfStream error because I could look at the console on Multicraft and see myself log in.

Now, MultiMC is crashing every time with an error saying there are Block ID conflicts between MoreFurnaces and Secret Rooms. I fixed the Block ID conflict, even changed my Forge config to global and changed both Block ID's in the same file so that neither was using the previously used Block ID, and it still crashes - now seemingly without a reason. I think an easy fix would be to tone down the number of Mods, but that would be inconvenient for those who already (somehow) have access. I would very much like to play so anybody who can help (davroe) please PM me.

IRC is also down so that's why I'm not contacting Maru through that, anybody knows why/when it gets fixed, lemme know.

In the meantime, I'm switching back to MagicLauncher. MultiMC is garbage.

I'm trying to figure out what's wrong and it looks like "absolutely nothing" is the answer, since all the Mods run fine in SSP while I continue getting an endofstream error when trying to connect to the server.

MultiMC didn't work. A manual install from a clean 1.4.5 .jar works better for me than did MultiMC.

It's a problem with the server - I was telling izak (over the Normal Server) that I can even play Modded SSP with the new configuration without problems.
BUT I still consistently receive an endofstream error when attempting to connect to the Modded Server. (The Normal Server works fine for me.)

We're not being competitive with our resource-gathering and construction. Just in case anybody's offended by this, I mean no offense, but I don't really play this game to say "look how many diamonds I have" or "look at my awesome house". I don't need approval from anybody else to validate how I play. We all post fun pictures of our travels now and then, of what we build and what we find (and granted I posted a lot back in the first month or so when I got excited a lot while mining) but I play this game to fulfill my own goals and objectives, which are constantly changing and evolving. I don't play it to be competitive with Klaz or Maru or izak or Xalxe or Hiraki or any of you, and I don't play it to gain your approval, as much as I respect you both in-game and out.

What I've been feeling recently with Minecraft and the problem I think Maruchan is trying to address is that no matter how much shit you mine, and no matter what you build, you're always going to come out of it with a sort of drive to want to do more. That's natural in life, and it's natural in Minecraft. His argument (correct me if I'm wrong) is that with a full or partial reset one could potentially reshape one's goals and objectives in the game from the very beginning, starting with "HOLY FUCK I NEED THAT 4-BLOCK SQUARE THING THAT PROTECTS FROM SCARY NIGHTS WITHOUT TORCHES HALP ME" to "FIRST DIAMOND PICKAXE ALRIGHT BABY" - and as Klazam said that kind of thing is somewhat stunted when you know you have several maximally-enchanted Diamond Pickaxes sitting at home just a tp away.

Hope I hit on at least some of what Maru and Klaz are thinking, and hoping that clarifies for those don't/can't/won't understand.
All that being said, yeah it looks like no regen is the way to go. Like so many other issues as of late, the community's to divided to validate doing any of the other options except "doing nothing".

Also, if you think about things they're normally used for like day/night switches, not only are they overpowered, but that kind of thing shouldn't be in the hands if one person- since it effects everyone.

Warded Stone = a special Thaumaturgical building block that is impossible to break except by the person who placed it. My fortress also contains Arcane Doors, which are the same except they're doors. The result is a Thaumaturgical, indestructible, impregnable fortress.

Volcanoes = those giant mountains of Basalt with Lava Springs coming out of the top. I plan on mining it for Basalt and using it as a lava source so please no touch-y without permission.

Greatwood Tree = a somewhat rare and large tree, infused with magical energy, which grows in all forest-related Biomes except for Jungles. There's one growing nearby on the coast in an Autumn Forest Biome, and it looks awesome, but I'm going to be chopping it down for Golem Wood.

Might be that you all are having trouble with the FTB Launcher, which just released a bunch of updates and news. Or it could be that Maru fixed the problem with the restart.

Either way, it works now, just make sure you're using the MindCrack ModPack in the Launcher. If it doesn't show up on the ModPack list (Klaz esp., since we're using the exact same .jar Launcher) look for the "Filter" button on the ModPack List screen, then make sure everything says "All", then click "Apply Filter" - any ModPacks not showing up at that point should be re-added, including MindCrack.

I've checked up on Crystal Chests: apparently with 1.4.6 and the introduction of 3D Item Rendering, the Crystal Chest rendering is now extremely buggy. I think the only one this currently applies to is Klaz, but until further notice please don't use Crystal Chests. This should solve the issue. I will be on to supply Diamond Chests as replacements for the next 10 minutes or so, then I'll be back in about an hour.

I'm saying don't push the "how many guns till we crash the server" thing. Also remember that anyone with the same gun won't be able to use theirs if you've already got Portals out in the world (since a portal from the same type of gun, even if used by a different player, will overwrite any other portal made with the same gun elsewhere).

@Maru: you reset the Aura Nodes when you updated/did whatever you did to the server. I'm not pleased that I lost my 850 Aura Node...and I'm sure others will have qualms.
We need to find a fix so that that doesn't happen again, because it's quite destructive.

By "reset" I mean that it appears that all Nodes on already-explored chunks have been deleted except for those generated by Silverwood Trees. Not sure how this has effected the Twilight, but it means that the nearest Node to implosion is actually the one in the grove of Silverwoods near my house. This kind of thing is bad bad bad.

@Maruchan - after doing some research, I am hereby requesting permission to disable The GregTech Intergalactical Mod on the FeedTheBeast Server for the following reasons:

1) It disables many commonly known and widely accepted crafting recipes, which diminish the value of pre-acquired knowledge through research of the Mods contained within the FeedTheBeast ModPack.
2) It eliminates access to, or makes impossibly difficult to acces, many facets of the ModPack (including but not limited to) large portions of IndustrialCraft 2.
3) The GregTech Intergalactical Mod is simply an add-on to IndustrialCraft 2, a Mod which (in the opinions of many of our FTB server-goers) would be better-served without it.

Thoughts? Is this even possible?

The Mass Fabricator, the ultimate pinnacle/goal of IndustrialCraft 2 (for me, at least) is removed.
Many other machines are extremely complicated by this, since they require UU Matter to acquire the parts needed to even consider making them.

Also, many Ores are only obtainable through annoying GregTech-implemented Blast Furnaces and 5% chance occurences.

Nah, either we regen or spawn in what people need once they run out.
The only big use I've seen so far for them is that Sheldonite Ore can be put in an Induction Smelter for Iridium Ingots, IIRC.

Note: I only suggest this because first-come-first-served is a woefully unfair practice when 2-3 people could easily mine out The End Island of all valuable resources before any other players even log on. If there's any objections to this we can just regen The FTB End when people mine it out. Gives us another Dragon to kill so it's not like we aren't working for it.

This is a damn good idea. Not sure about the timing, as izak said, maybe 2-3 months would be better.
