They either die from being crushed, or escape when they get pushed forwards, so I think I'm just going to have them funnelled into a small space and trapped, and leave a huge amount of snowballs in chests for killing them with. Alternatively, people could bring their own Potions of Harming to speed it up.

Also, plague, your house is spawning mobs. I found a spider on the edge of your roof, and a skeleton inside.

Hmm, weird. I thought I had lit it up enough. I'll get on that later tonight.

Silly British.

We may be getting a new desktop in the near future. Current one is Windows Vista (ugh) with 4 gigs of RAM. Won't be for several months (maybe not at all) but I'd be willing if/when that happens.

I'm willing to set up the grass growing arena as my house is finished for now (ugly as fuck but I don't feel like making it pretty right now). I'm open to any ideas. Right now I'm thinking of two setups. One like the one in the link, with the signs and such. Another would have lanes of grass separated by stone. First one to get grass on last block wins. I'm still thinking of a way to do 3-D setups. Donations of dirt, stone, glass, torches, pistons, glowstone, or anything else that could be useful in the future are welcome.

Also, I've been thinking about getting a texture pack as I'm still using default. :( Any suggestions?

My house is row 4, column B, yellow wool. I have a bunch of chests and a small wooden building, and I'm right behind the (former) tree farm. Between a house surrounded by a hedge and a house made of stone bricks. My market is the corner one, light blue, row 3, not sure which column. If you look at Paige's from the front, it's the second plot to the right. The corner that points to the tree farm.

Speaking of the tree farm, what the hell happened to it?

I think you fixed my house plot already - my shop plot was at the corner nearest where the tree farm was.

I thought mine was on the corner? Maybe not. I don't really remember. I'm fine with whatever as long as I'm near-ish the corner.

My idea was to keep it in the same format it is now and have any redstone underground. Basically I wanted to do what chesskid has at his house and have sticky pistons under all the dirt blocks were melons/pumpkins might grow. Wire those all up to a button using underground wire, and hit the button to lift the dirt blocks up, destroying the grown stuff on top.

well saturation+hunger combined points the order for bestfood if I remember correctly is mushroomsoop, steak, then bread.

Yeah, but I never really take that into account. I mainly use melons because a single push of a button can get you 100 hunger points worth of food. Everything else takes several times longer, especially animals.

Packbat, ClammyCakes, and I just spent about an hour brainstorming for a new dual-castle PvP map. We're designing dispenser machine guns, drawbridges, TNT cannons, and the like to put in. Anybody who wants to help is welcome! Shoot me a PM with your ideas whenever.

@izak
They're all on your server currently; could you save the map files before uploading the one for the speed run? Our eventual plan is to copy/paste them onto a blank map.

PS: Clammy made the entire spawn castle on Maru's server pretty much by himself with just a little WorldEdit-type help, so we're VERY lucky to have him working on this.

As far as economy goes, we have plenty of that already. Iron, gold, nuggets, diamonds. We can set up a barter system using those as currency. with an exchange rate blaze rods and coal can be used as well. Or that's how mine will work.

Yeah, 1.3 is introducing Emeralds (from Emerald Ore) and you can trade with villagers for certain stuff, depending on their occupation. They'll buy a few things from players, but they sell a TON of different stuff. There's a ton of new unlimited resources now; you can sell renewable resources and purchase previously non-renewable ones (although it won't be cheap).

PS: For the Emerald Ore, it's *slightly* more common than diamonds but is spread over levels 1-30 instead of 1-15 so it's roughly twice as hard to find.

I think I have a few stacks of minecart rail that I looted from chesskid's that I'll lend out to transport villagers back to town, although I'd like them back afterward, please! To sheep somewhat, I do agree that bartering would be nice but I don't like trying to set prices and such.

Also, stupid griefers are stupid.

I'll probably just wait; I'm not confident in my MC skills to mess around with snapshots and such.

Edit: On that note, as I've said before the "Would you like to update?" screen keeps popping up. What exactly is that for? Whenever I click Yes it fails because of the mods I have loaded. Would I just download the new .jar file for when 1.3 comes out? I'm confused.

Unfortunately, he's right. We should probably go back over any mineshafts to see if there's railing left, if we're going to do the villager-caravan thing.

Also, /out for the Enderdragon speedrun if I had been /in'd. New commitment for tomorrow at that time which came up today.

Do you need specific coordinates? I just want my house in town, the basement underneath it, and then my and Packbat's "Lava Lodge" out in the desert. Also, can we specifically pick where we want it in the new server? Could you possibly place an above-ground pool of lava next to it? That's why we built it where it was and where its name came from.

Can't believe I forgot to announce this IT, but Packbat, ClammyCakes, and I are working on a new castle PvP map. The game involves TNT cannons and dispenser machine guns, control points, and castle assaults. Anybody who is interested in helping, please PM me and I'll get you whitelisted. We're working on a new Superflat currently loaded on izak's server.

I thought I had whitelisted him? Maybe not.

Anyways, me and Clammy made a bunch of progress. Changed the boime to snow so we'll have snowstorm assaults. Glass walls around the entire area, 80 blocks tall. Castle is nearly done, village is about half done, and we haven't started on siege camp or weapons yet.

While I'm thinking about it, is there a plugin that allows for different respawn points for different people? I was planning to use beds to split up the teams so they'd respawn at their respective bases, but I'm worried that beds may be destroyed by explosions and such.

Screenshots of the (almost) finished map. We're ready for play-testing. Is anybody interested in doing something later this week? It'd be nice to have 6-8 people. I'll talk with Clammy about grabbing some Hogwartia people, too.

A big thanks to Packbat, T-Bone, and ClammyCakes for their contributions (much greater than my own), and izak for letting us build on his server!

I'll help with the underwater city. Korlash already has a dome and underground section, so if we build near him we can connect to it (given his permission). Also, there's an island above it where we can store supplies. If anybody has glowstone they'd be willing to donate, it's much better to use than torches as torches will break if water hits them.

We should probably also start enchanting LOTS of leather and iron helms. Respiration (longer breathing) and Aqua Affinity (faster underwater mining) are amazingly helpful for anything underwater. IIRC chesskid had a couple helms, so anybody who looted armor from him should check their stores to see if they have helms with either of those. Combine a Respiration III helm with an iron bucket (create air pockets for breathing) and you can dive straight to the bottom and built an airlock without having to build down from the surface.

Also, sugarcane is good for airlocks, as it blocks water but you can walk through it. No aiming for doors in the dark.

Operation Underwater City is in progress. Rhinox has been working on the dome and he's pretty close to being finished. TBone has been leading me and Jahudo in clearing out the interior. It's out near the road to End Island, and the dome is massive. It's going to look great when we're done.

That's the point.

Yeah but two hits and you're out. I guess we could have multiple rounds/lives to make it last longer.

Edit: Also, just found this on the Minecraft Wiki. Seems that running into other boats won't destroy the other boats, just yours.
If you crash a boat into another boat, the boat being ridden will be destroyed while the other one will just bump away.

1. I would assume that the development by workplace vending machines and other horrors such as "Cheez Crackers" lead directly to the oppression of the proletariat. Dave Barry is an excellent source for this kind of information so I would have to consult him to explain this further.

2. Sir, is there any reason you ask this question twice? I wonder if I'm missing something. A struggle of class against class is (obviously) a class struggle, generally among 3rd-graders and the like. It often ends in full-on class warfare, involving such dastardly tactics as pinching and kicking.

3. If you are referring to soccer (or football to my foreign friends) then the Wolverhampton Wanderers won the Cup Final in 1949.

Bonus: I would love to work weekends.

I'm getting back into town in around 10 days. Would anybody be interested in running a PvP game when I get back? I want to at least try out the castle assault map we made, but we can play Monument or anything else. I haven't played Minecraft for almost 6 weeks now. :(

I'm also playing around with a new maze design idea that would use stairs instead of ladders and bigger than 1x2 hallways so it'd be less claustrophobic and could do more aesthetically. But of course that means bigger and more resources needed. But better, probably.

The problem with stairs is they work on a diagonal, meaning they can't work with a 6-axis algorithm (N, S, E, W, Up, Down).
