VOTE: Absta

Because Treestumps have feelings too!

So, if I may ask, do we gain anything from a lynch on this first day? I'm weighing the options, and it almost looks better for us to see if Brian uses his ability, and just start "fresh" D2.

Why do we lose investigative and protective roles? The doctor and Even-Night Cop are still in play?

I can't agree with this at all. Let's run through some numbers: We mislynch today, the Global RB goes off tonight, and we mislynch tomorrow. The cop investigates, and only has a 1 in 3 chance of finding scum (With another kill occurring during the night). If they succeed, we get a scum lynch the next day (Assuming we come to the conclusion that the cop is town and not scum), and if not, we kill a townie and the game ends when the Mafia kill that night. Numbers are not in our favor if we choose to blindly lynch today. If we wait until tomorrow, we can use this day and tonight to gain information, and give ourselves one extra night of safety.

The problem is, it's never alignment indicative with Yiley. He plays functionally the same whether town or scum...

My primary experience with Yiley is on another forum. Maybe he's more shrewd here, which is entirely possible.

I don't really understand the Yiley read, to be honest. I also don't understand this.

What is the rationale behind this? Are you seriously that convinced that he is scum that you want to lynch the cop?

Yeah, so I'm going to throw that out for the purposes of this game. The play there as a whole is much more chaotic, there are three days per real life day, and I'm seeing completely different play there than here in any game. Right now, I'm not seeing scum Yiley, though I will focus on him while re-reading.

All right, I'm hoping that Yiley is scum since I don't think anyone else is going to get wagoned this close to deadline. Keep in mind that he is now at L-2.

Quite honestly, I wasn't even thinking about the double-voter. I realized that the Hammerer was in the game after the fact, but didn't have time to post anything to that effect.

Jklash, why did you not send a message? There was literally no reason not to. None. It was the only way to verify that Brian did in fact use his role.

Ugh, I don't like MafBlack as much as I thought. It makes it difficult to see when new posts are made.

If you're all down to lynch me, I quite honestly don't know who else to go after. The wagon on me doesn't appear scum-motivated. With that in mind, I guess I can enjoy being a Treestump and posting tomorrow.

With that in mind, I have a few thoughts.

Farside, why so wishy-washy? When I hadn't posted, was there any harm in immediately voting for me? I wasn't anywhere near L-1 at the time.

Just to confirm, I'm still able to post anything game related (scum reads, setup speculation, etc.) if and when I die, right?

I'm a double voter. The hammer has not voted for you either.
Indeed. I do apologize. I keep forgetting the specifics of this setup.

Ok, so out of curiosity, why are we not lynching Absta?

VOTE: Absta

There are more than a few people who view him as scummy, and he is a DEFINITE detriment to town in the endgame. And he will make it to endgame. No scumteam in their right mind would shoot that.

Primarily because he consistently casts suspicion on others, specifically Tier, without voting, Absta. It's straight-up mudslinging.

Tier is fairly town. He's working with people, scum hunting, nothing jumps out as scum.

Quite honestly, I am not certain that it does. The primary town game in which I had time to collect my reads and compile them was when I was a replacement early on. At the same time, I had no school, and just a little work. I'm doing my best to stay afloat in these games, but it's difficult.

I did a short meta dive into private as well (and when I have time I will post the links) his scum game is not idiotic in the least. I just remember that off the top of my head but links will come tomorrow with this.

I played in a game and modded a game? Compared to the previous Marathon Weekend, as your extensive meta research should have told you, that is a HUGE decrease in activity. Don't deign to tell me that I'm not significantly busier right now than I have been at any point on this site. As I said, I'm doing my best to stay up in all games because the thought of replacing out does not appeal to me whatsoever.

However, in this type of game, figuring out how to "game the setup", as it were, is almost as crucial for a townwin as scumhunting itself.

Read the game. I know it's a novel concept and maybe difficult.
Well, to me, it's fairly obvious why he questions AJ's behavior and entrance into the game based on his past experience. Perhaps I'm incorrect, but if someone plays a certain way as scum in a game we play together, and exhibits the exact same behavior in a future game, I will likely question it.
