@Ven.
There are probably multiple roles in a faction besides a generic one. e.g. in a normal mafia game, you have cop, doc, and vig - all of which are town aligned, and all of which get a different pm. Just because your pm says something, it doesn't mean that all the others got the same thing. In fact, you should always assume that the mod gave everyone fairly different PMs to prevent game breaking claims.

Also, don't bother trying too hard to figure out who belongs where for now. It'll become clearer later, right now, anything anyone says could be a lie. What they do though, that'll tell you a lot more than what they say.

Oh, and innocent running is a bad plan. Later on, once it's pretty easy to guess who's who, it'd be ideal for soldiers and crew to team up. From the mod's post ven, the win conditions of those two factions are not conflicting. The soldiers, can, but don't have to kill the crew in order to win. As long as the soldiers are not killing the crew, and the aliens are gone, the crew and soldiers both win.

It's fine. I'd be suspicious of anyone who just simply trusts everyone actually. I agree that we need to move in groups, or at least pairs, in order to explain occurances, but I think I'll wait until things get interesting later before banding up with people.

Secondary protocol sounds cool.

Less-spread-out-population would be useful, yes, but this early in the game, finding out more about the place is just as important as finding the aliens. I think a group of us need to go explore cargo bay beta.

There's another way to help out ABR.

I can get to the bridge.

I was thinking of bringing 3 people with me, and I was planning on picking them out based on their reactions to my crumb. I was hoping people who picked it up might reply subtly by dropping words I'd recognize, but it's too late for that now.

Right now, we need to discuss if everyone is fine with people being on the bridge, and who should go. If a group of 4 go, no one can do anything suspicious without the other three knowing. If we vote which people we trust the most to go, I doubt the other three going will be all aliens. We could also just dice roll to decide. The chances of all three people randomly chosen being all aliens should be slim.

Wow. We just started and we already have a captain claim and a threat from the soldiers to take out everyone. :?

I can bring people to the bridge NOW. We could have a group in the bridge by bloodbath, that will allow the crew to do whatever stuff they want to in the bridge. If we wait for the captain to open the doors, he won't be able to do anything in the bridge until
next
bloodbath. ABR could be dead by then, and I think it'd be best if he's alive.

If Grek doesn't mind, I propose skitzer comes along. He has your uniform. I don't think there'd be an item 'captain's uniform' unless it's important somehow. Maybe there's something only you can do, and only if you have your uniform.

Alright. No need for skitzer then. I'd be more comfortable if you pick one of your crew to tag along though, I'm not comfortable with being tasked with touching controls.

I was hoping there'd be a way to shut down the basilisk from the bridge, or maybe control the other cyborgs to destroy it. Is there? Having people take weapons from the armory sounds nice, but they won't get to use them until two BBs from now, and the basilisk would be roaming the ship by this BB once we open the doors.

Grek, you should probably lock the passenger quarters next turn. The other people in the room should leave so they don't get stuck. Passenger quarters -> bridge is now possible to 5 people, plus whoever they bring along.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Other things I think might be possible are aliens who show up as humans when scanned; like a godfather, cult-ish aliens who can infect humans, and just plain powerful aliens who can rip us to shreds. =(

Besides the aliens, we also have to worry about:

Basilisk
The other cyborgs who are currently offline
Halcyon turning on us.

The first two maybe the soldiers can blast to shreds. Halcyon might be trickier. Maybe we should get someone to the computer core before halcyon decides to lock it/go nuts on anyone who tries to go there.

Yes, I'm not a crew member. I've said as much before in order to prevent any confusion that might arise from me being able to get to the bridge and stuff.

If
halcyon does go insane, you won't have a chance of getting any of your men there. Also, if halcyon does control life support, I imagine it'd be a very bad thing if the aliens take control of it.

Oh. I thought ABR's men already gathered in one room yesterday.

Okay then, this gives the basilisk two BBs to wreck havoc. This turn and the next. We have no weapons. We can either all mass together in one room and hope we can somehow take it down, spread out so only a few of us get damaged, use ven's button thing, or move in rooms now and hit bird's airlock button. I'm not sure if the airlock would affect the basilisk though.

I'm just listing all alternatives. I'm actually not to fond of the let's-all-get-together plan eitherbecause it's possible that basilisk might just gun down all of us. It seems ABR managed to handle one BB with him with only a shoulder wound though, so maybe it's doable.

Actually come to think of it, the aliens are still a threat even if we split up. Then they can just kill everyone in one room and claim it was a trap. That's assuming the aliens have weapons/abilities though.

a good trade off. There's still aliens out there.
If
you are who you say you are, your death would mean the soldiers become reduced to a leaderless rabble, and we're down one person who can actually fight. Even if you give grek your talkie so he can coordinate them, I'd rather you be in charge of your men than a ship's captain. Besides, running your device on him in the presence of grek and his men would be a better way of confirming both of you.

I'm not taking sides between zombie and albert. If I have to side with someone, I'll side with grek. For now, I'll just stay away from everyone. All this new information is making my head spin. And I can't help but be wary that Albert and his men are being given access to the armory.

Okay. But still, why self destruct on him? How is 1 for 1 even a good trade off seeing as how we're already disadvantaged?

Also, albert having a working device that scans people for alien dna isn't concrete confirmation of him being who he says he is. I trust him for the moment, but only because I have to.

Al's secondary protocol plan fails because no one is in agreement right now on who should be killed and how. It was a good plan back when it was proposed, but everything was black and white then. Now there's a trillion shades of gray. He's called a secondary protocol on zombie, but he's already planned to detonate himself on him, so no point joining in.

I think no one besides Grek and whoever he okays should enter, but him and his men need to keep an eye on al's men, so I think it'd be best if everyone just left the computer core alone.

How about... zombie slayer, the crew and the military team up against the aliens for now, with the condition that the crew get more of the guns, and albert always has one crew member pointing a gun at him. Once you guys take care of the aliens, then Grek can decide which of zombie and albert to trust.

add-on: I'd really, really, advise against it. There are still too many other threats at large.

Basilisk.
Aliens.
Other cyborgs in cargo bay.
Possibility of halcyon going crazy.

Also, ABR is strapped with explosives. If the crew and military kill themselves, everyone else is screwed.

Can't you guys just bicker later? If you hold albert at gun point grek, you can always just kill him if him or his men do anything fishy. No need to anything rash.

right? There's still too many threats at large, we need all humans alive for now, and albert is confirmed human. Even if he wants to hijack the ship, he needs to kill the aliens first. Once they're dead, then you and your crew can decide which of albert and z to trust.

I say nightson. He has no explanation for why the computer core doors were blown open. He has no explanation for why he was there. He implied being the ship's computer technician while grek has pointed out that the ship doesn't have one.

Right now, I'm thinking of restraining him until we find out if Halcyon is fixed next turn. I wouldn't be that bothered if he died, but I can't deny the possibility that he might be legit.

He
did
do something to halcyon. Unless I'm mistaken, neither Grek nor I made halcyon reboot. What we don't know, is exactly what he did.

Hmm. Sure, why not? Nightson claimed to have repaired halcyon. If he's not lying, then she's fixed already, so a computer technician wouldn't really be needed. I don't want to have to kill someone needlessly though, halcyon might break again, and there's still the cyborgs and other computers in the ship.

If nightson chimes in and agrees to let himself be restrained, I think we should just keep him alive for the moment. If he doesn't say anything, or objects to being restrained, I say we kill him.

Seriously, just keep zombie alive for now and hunt aliens. If zs is lying, the crew and abr's men outnumber him, they can easily kill him later. If albert and his men are lying, the crew have weapons already, so they can just kill them too.

I'll use al's scanner to scan zombie, and then take zombie's gun from him.

I stayed in the vents the last round, in the same place I was before that - between the passengers quarters(where ger was) and the bridge. No one went through, or at least, I wasn't informed.

Ger claims to have breathing equipment. No one can confirm it though.

I'd imagine the infirmary would have breathing aids of some sort.

...maybe.

the crew have guns now. but they can't chase the aliens in the air locked rooms. the aliens can't leave those rooms either, assuming they don't have weapons to match.

do you still have that unknown button thing?

i wonder what happens if the whole ship blows up.
assuming ger is town, making stuff blow up in the engine room to kill everyone would force a draw.

Okay, we need to discuss stuff without aliens knowing.

Proposal:
Grek+crew, Albert+his men, myself, ven go to the infirmary. That way we can discuss possible courses of action during BB without the aliens knowing. Anyone else going there gets shot and killed.

The drawback is that there's an obvious risk to this, and we'll have to waste one BB making plans, but at least we'll be more coordinated. Unless you guys already made plans last BB, in which case nevermind.

[Modnote: Just so you don't get your hopes up, you can't PM on a room-by-room basis. Unless I've told you specifically, you don't get secret communication.]


Alternatively, we all do our own thing and I go plan B and try find myself some booze. Thoughts?

Ger was tinkering around with a console in the engine room, pressing buttons. He also has a key card of some kind, which must be how he got to the engine room in the first place.

Ger is messing with the engine room controls. Not just looking, pressing buttons.

He also has a key card which I'm going to assume gave him access to the engine room. The being hit on the head bit is probably a lie.

He should die.
