To be fair, there's no rules listed that state any artists/songs cannot be submitted. I didn't even know there was such a rule until the posting in this contest. In post 113, DemonHybrid wrote:Guys, check your artist and song before you submit it. Three times this contest so far someone submitted something not allowed.-

You can enter as any countrynotin the OP.
Also note (because this confuses many newbies) that countries are for optional anonymity; you don't have to enter music from that country.
Also, I think someone else wanted canada, so you may need to include your backup choice in the PM form.-

A lot of them don't sound anything alike.

Mali-Not very captivating. Kinda feels like credit music for a late 80's early 90s film for some reason.
Ireland-Blocked
Macedonia-Like the combination of retro stylings. Fun and dynamic enough.
Peru-Vocals suck. Not a fan of the genre. Still oddly better than gold standard.
Italy-Blocked
France-Usually can't stand songs with this pounding eighth notes. But it actually is important for the songs message. Pretty decent.
Germany-God what a horrible song.
Vatican City-Fun, but doesn't really go anywhere
Denmark-Blocked
Chile-Meh, pretty boring music. Lyrics make me want to kick a puppy.
Palestine-Yay bass and saxophone. Oh God the piano, why? Really could have done a lot more with the instrumentation. This saddens me.
Sweden-Can we say boring and repetitive. Yes we can.
Bhutan-Elenor Rigby revisited? OK definitely not that. Certainly interesting. Not sure if I would enjoy it as something to sit down an listen to. Contrasts are interesting though.
England-OMG, I had to push a play button! RAAWWWR! Please no. This was almost embarrassing to listen to.
Turkey-Heart...really? Not enjoyable to me. Sorry
Tristran da Cunha-So I'm not getting many points for this entry, and I'm gonna let you finish, but Diablo had the best video game music of all time. I used to leave the game in town just to listen to this track loop. Also little known tidbit, there is a theory that Diablo I was not intended to take place in an alternate world. The town of Tristram was named after the island settlement Tristran da Cunha, the most distant inhabited island from any continent explaining the isolation of this little village. Later the lore of Sanctuary was added to give the game depth.
Switzerland-I swear this track (or something very similar) was entered before. Interesting but rather repetitive.
Scotland-Poro, it's time for a break.
Canada-Echo bitches! I can't be the only person that finds this song overrated. Yeah it's got a great chorus, but the rest of the filler is pretty bland.
Isreal-Blocked
Belgium-I'm totally gonna win this video gameoff. What a piece of crap.
Brazil-Opening credits for some Saturday morning cartoon. Closer to the 12 noon slot where things focus on the bigger kids. And the Epic Space Pirates of the 25th Century!
Laos-Blocked
Swazilan-Orchestral intro is quite underwhelming. Enjoying the beginning of the piano, but it gets a bit dull around the 2:40 mark. Orchestra is nice at 4:00 though. Bit of a dud ending, but that's what happens when snipping a single movement from a full piece I guess.
Guatemala-Feels rather formulaic. Not terrible, but just lacks feeling.
Finland-Really enjoying the instrumentation. Rhythmic layering is nice. Wish they had gone further with this though. Was a great musical idea.-

RECK, Youtube is blocked almost always means Youtube is blocked. But thanks for playing. Next time don't enter something so Mainstream. Also it's common knowledge Just a Girl is the best No Doubt song. Sorry you entered the wrong one.-

Blocked songs
Ireland-This is overly simple IMO. Predictable melodic lines. One note piano line repeated ad infinitum. Oh look a cello for build, never would have guessed. I'd have rather had a nap.
Italy-Dun Dun Dududun. I like that contrasts between the chorus and the meat. Kinda catchy. Decent use of horns.
Denmark-Intro had some promise. When it gets going it's just not a sound I enjoy listening to. Just nothing special. Aw shucks, he used his kid too.
Isreal-Nice groove. Could have done a bit more with that.
Laos-Kinda like the vocal line. Guitar is kind of annoying though. Horn outro is cool. Would have rather listened to that for 4 minutes TBH.-

it's not like quadz should have been holding the record in the first place. In post 583, ChannelDelibird wrote:Sixth was a lot higher than I was expecting. Awesome. No way was JD's entry a record-breaking song though.

go buy Diablo. It's probably really cheap being released in 1996Last edited by shaft.ed on Thu Nov 17, 2011 9:57 am, edited 1 time in total.-
