Uh, no? I wasn't raging. I mean, its happened before. I had it if not notscience in Xenogears and notscience and Marquis in Spring Dance. I mean, I have a tendency to be an ass but I wouldn't say I raged at you.

Again, I thought your tone was off.
I've said this before.
Tammy wrote: I am town, and I think that Andrius still does have a very high spchance of being scum
Ahahahahaha no.
Tammy wrote:playing in a way that is more designed to make me feel like shit than to actually find out my alignment makes way too much sense for him as scum.
That is not the goal.

To be fair, there were two reasons but w/e the second needs not be stated.
Tammy wrote:I will not play games with people who have personal issues with me that just try to make me feel like shit.
Ok, this is and never was the goal. My goal has never been MAKE TAMMY FEEL LIKE SHIT.
I had the intention of sorting you out earlier when I felt your tone was off and said something about it.
This has never been a personal thing.
In post 2054, Tammy wrote:As much as it depresses me nacho is probably scum for just whistling by all that too.

Based on the way that I play, this isn't happening; people like you don't "sneak by", you either destroy me completely or you get destroyed. I'm sure if we're both town here then a moment of mutual meltdown is sure to occur in the future because that's how things have a way of happening, but I don't have it in me to go through this for another day. Rebuilding whatever is broken between all of us is sure to take time and understanding and quelling of feelings for a moment to listen but if it can't happen then I'm not playing.
I'm here.
I'm willing if you are. Grab a hammer.

Telling Tammy that she's putting Moist into her words and that somehow is making the game less fun and impossible to play is ridiculous. It's not playing the game, it's attacking Tammy. If he wasn't attacking Tammy specifically, why didn't he call out any of the 10 other people who put Moist into their words? Why did he single out Tammy?
Because Tammy was the one I was scumreading off her tone?
Is it this hard to understand?

Like if you take Tammy's posting and replace her name with [GERRYOAT, FB, Nos] it'd be entirely different.
WHO says it is key.

I really feel like there's a disconnect here but I'm ok dropping this and moving on because this is our ONLY source of contention for a number of people.

I don't know their history, but I do know she hasn't been in the recent games I've played with Andrius for it to build up like I have been with Drealmz.
Tammy is hurt because she and Andrius are friends. She's hurt because they had a fantastic connection before you came into the picture, she's hurt because she cares about his opinion and she believes that he's singling him out for god knows what reason. I don't think that's a completely unreasonable place for her to be coming from. I don't think that Andrius means any ill will by him because I still have faith in him as a person, but I do think that him attacking her for the Moist thing was weird because plenty of others were doing it and because Andrius isn't the person who complains about people having fun but that's what he was doing.

More defcon. Andrius, any thoughts on this?

McMenno's a TR for me.
UT was Scum in DEFCON who was a crowd-pleaser and, after surviving a D1 wagon on himself, was the sole survivor and won the game for MOTHER RUSSIA.
SAD was town in that game. FB was scum. Menno was town.

This argument is bullshit. No mod would confirm the existence of another role in your role pm unless they're masons or something.

Eh.
I don't know if mod-side speculation will help but I don't see the value in Millers/Hated.
In post 2244, Nachomamma8 wrote:

Wrong context.
He was going after one word of mine.
This was part of a trend.
Part of the reason he's in third tier town.

The moist thing was fun. It was playful.
You're right that it doesn't add obvious value, but it can create the companionship feeling and it makes the game lighter, which in my opinion is the same value that your STRAHD playfulness adds. I don't think that people were being touchy about it, I think that it was silly and a little weird that you cracked down on the fun on that point of time to spread the narrative that Tammy was indulging in it to pad her posts; it was light, it was fun, I don't understand how it dragged the game down.
Do we really need to start a discussion on this?
In post 2255, Tammy wrote:Now that that game is over, I can reference exactly what I was referring to with Andrius over correcting here. In thing he buddies me too quickly too much and it set off alarm bells. I neighborized him anyway in the hopes my alarm was wrong because I wanted a neighborhood with him. By day two my growing problems with him and his lack of real scum hunting emerged and when I told him in the neighborhood that I suspected him he responded with a wall that basically told me I wasn't playing well enough - I didn't have solid scum reads early day one, even though the people I was talking about as my biggest scum reads toogeloo and goat had already flipped scum.

There are things that feel similar here and it feels like he threw suspicion at me early to overcorrect for what set off alarms in the previous game. Then deflecting to make my concerns trivial with a really bad argument feels too similar. He may not be buddying me here, but he is others.
Now that it is over you should ALSO know that ScumAndrius was set on buddying you and being close.
There was NO WAY I would scumread you without tons of time and effort so the best strategy was to simply townread you and be close.
I also discouraged Ranmaru from scumreading you because no one would take it seriously and it would be simply a thing that was done to appear contrarian. It was too forced.

You would benefit, I think, from reading the THING PT.
In post 2263, Nachomamma8 wrote:
In post 1361, Andrius wrote:I don't think I'd be surprised if any of my townreads turned out to be scum.
I don't actually think any of them are like SURPRISE-level material.
Maybe that's just because my care level is so low.
And it's hard for me to get a good read on you because I'm not used to your care level being this low. I am assuming that most of this is because of what's currently happening with Tammy and I would like to move past it so I can have my old, smiling Andrius back; I don't think I would be completely out of line to say that maybe your initial reactions to things were a little weird - you felt you were insulted and that crushed you and maybe that culminated in the mood you were in shortly after. I don't really know what more to say to you that is not game related but I know that we can all work past this and I just hope you're willing to give us the time to do it.
Any world where I scumread Tammy is weird.
Its never happened before.
In post 2265, Nachomamma8 wrote:

Because you're basically just going THIS IS A BAD IDEA without doing much.
Your involvement in the game is basically limited to trying to shut down a few select wagons that are town and little actual scumhunting.
And you interact with a select few people.
And I said I'm ok with this if its nothing more than a policy lynch.
Which it isn't.

I mean earlier I had plans to claim that I was the pile of clothes, a 3rd party who had to be the moistest thing of all and would die unless I was ranked #1 in the moist challenge and use that to get ahead so I can see if you were attacking me for that degree of shenanigans but Tammy's moist shenanigans didn't seem at all out of line.
You know that's a bullshit role.
I know that's a bullshit role.
I'd definitely tell you it was a bullshit role and expect you to drop it within a page or two.
I know this is a SPYREX-reviewed game and he's done SURVIVORs before but there's no way this flies.
All that role does is encourage SPAM over playing the game.

I may not be reading this 100% because I'm not entirely sure what you're asking.

But I think my issue with it lies in the there's no way out of that ravine - all you're doing is leading to a 'I think you're wrong' 'No I'm not' but without BECAUSE's or HOW/WHYs this cannot get anywhere.

I disagree because Masons and Brothers and Friendly Neighbors all exist.
Seeking Masons make a lot of sense for A PAIR OF SOCKS or something. This is the type of thing that SpyreX would be giddy over. Masons are strong but if the need to seek each other that helps. Maybe throw in a traitor and really ham up the seeking vibes in-thread?

Is it this hard to understand?

Like if you take Tammy's posting and replace her name with [GERRYOAT, FB, Nos] it'd be entirely different.
WHO says it is key.

I really feel like there's a disconnect here but I'm ok dropping this and moving on because this is our ONLY source of contention for a number of people.
It's hard to understand because why is Tammy being playful scummy?
Why wouldn't anyone participate in the moist game scummy unless they shared your viewpoint (or why did you expect her to share it?)
It was a tone thing.
Again, I read it and basically went 'this might be scum tammy trying to blend in with the early game vibes'. The mod-provided shenanigans allow for yet another venue for people to commiserate over, sure, but its also exactly where I would expect scum to be. I see that and go 'scum are definitely going to hide in it there's no way they all sit out'. Like I would literally be ok lynching/killing every person competing for moist because there's got to be scum in there. NOT ALL, NOT MOST, NOT MANY, but at least one. Because its such a great place to hide in. Its mod-sanctioned so everyone knows about it.

No more words on that.

I think people are hung up on the WHY TAMMY THOUGH and not literally anyone else. This isn't a calculated thing.
I thought your tone was weird so I said something. FB and Maria playing games is par for the course. I don't know Fro99er but he reminds me of UT so there's automatically a threshold for bullshit involved.

There's also the key difference where I was SCUM in THE THING and thus didn't actually have to discern anyone's alignment. I just townread people for convenience's sake, bussed every scumbuddy but Magna, and townread the people who were too convenient not to TR (Tammy) or where there was a clear tactical advantage to do so (SpyreX, UT).

I do not believe he has that role.
Most mods wouldn't do something like this because its not normal.
EP is not most mods.
SpyreX is the gold standard for design.
So I'm willing to believe something NOT NORMAL and FANCY might make it into this game.
We're allowed to disagree on this but I'm making a case for it in case I die here as the THIRD OPTION.

This seems like an odd assertion.
I think his role claim thing with the complicated voting mechanic is fake.
And am surprised so many people buy it.
Didn't we just assert, pages ago, that people who tee hee claim PR are immediately townread and unvoted without discussion?
I'm assuming Sly's poking fun at this.
Because now Creature's at L-1 and Sly isn't.

Well thanks for coming in and adding to the smack down on Tammy. Appreciate it.
That's not what's happening.

It certainly feels like it.
Nacho's trying to solve this because he is close to both of us.
I had to ask him about his stance on me because I thought he was being a bit dodgy with it but w/e.
ScumNacho might try and do this, sure, but I imagine you can read him well in your own good time and I can as well so there's little benefit for ScumNacho to diffuse this with both of us among the living.

I'm even giving him the option to lynch me and he's not taking it.
Which is still on the table because all we're doing is outing more PRs and claims.

drealmerz, I'm not sure you understand.

Nacho and I have a long history of being able to read each other well until the almost-guaranteed late-game point where we start to doubt each other and then actually are both town.
Anywho.
If he thinks I'm scum he's going to secure my lynch and there's nothing I can do because that's how Nacho plays and we know we read each other well.

I personally have a distaste for that sort of approach.
Magna wrote this in the now-over THE THING and I find it highly relevant here.
My first thought was ZACK this game because I have some history with Maria (<3) and FB (Deplorables) but I Zack seems only interested in talking with his in-group and defending his townreads (in-group members?). I don't know if gerryoak qualifies and frankly, I don't care enough to find out. But this just complicates the matter in that he might be town doing his thing which may or may not be finding scum like the rest of us and actually trying to advance the plot of the game, so to speak. Thus it makes things difficult given my tendency is to just go SCUM DEFENDING PEOPLE HE KNOWS WILL FLIP TOWN AND NOT ACTUALLY SCUMHUNTING.

In fact, I'd have probably thought that looked somewhat town as it sounds similar to theories of behavior I've had before about certain stuff, but it wasn't presented as that until yesterday. I can't know you have some theory that isn't what you actually said in thread while deflecting some concern I had on you.

If I'd heard that, well not much else I can say except you're wrong there too. I just thought it was amusing as hell. I was happy to draw town in a player list I was looking forward to playing with, especially with a few players I was happy came back that I haven't played with in forever.
Open and honest communication is under-rated.
I am sorry we had to fight like this. Nacho and SAD have said things in hundreds of less words than it took me to say it badly.

And yes, Zack seems 0% interested in game solving and 100% interested in having a good time.
To be fair the entire WINE PARTY is 100% good time but they also have varying levels of GAME SOLVING.
Given the first WINE PARTY began as me and Maria simply talking.

Yeah I read you as town.
I bumped you up a tier for bias.
Like, drealmerz and I have a completed game together

so I have a stronger grasp on him than you. Also there's no bias involved.

I townread you because I really don't see a general scum-motivation to anything you've done so far. Sure, you're not playing like Tammy or SAD or Fire or Sly, but I think you're town. You don't necessarily care what other people will think and are able to fight off people like Fire who come around.

I bumped you a tier because of bias. Because I'd be sad to see you go and, frankly, would be more surprised if you were scum than the Tier III Townies.

You don't want to lynch the Serial Killer?
Id probably lynch Creature at this junction over gerryoat.

Tammy has expressed her own concerns about Nacho not engaging with her this game.
Look, if they don't engage with each other, one of them is scum.
Simple as that.
One of them won't be putting in the time and effort that's needed this game so one of them (or both???) will be scum.
Simple as that.
I'm willing to give Nacho time to catch up and get all READS and FIRE going.
And if I can give him that time through my lynch, so be it.
I believe in him. I believe that he can rally this game if he so chooses and has time. If he's town.
If he doesn't, then he's scum.

Oh the side defense on me it was something Spiffeh (scum) did in DEFCON when I was being wagoned on Day 2 and he was halfheartedly defending the wagon saying it was bad etc.

You just have a lot to gain from it and very little to lose knowing I'll flip town. Also it's extremely similar to Spiffeh because you're not actively trying to stop the wagon just sitting there saying that you think it's bad.

Pine.
Would it not make sense for a Town PR Creature to want to lynch anyone but him?
That's not necessarily scum - Town PR who thinks they're of great value
whose utility is not derived from their own lynch
would try to stay alive.

I literally would have voted anyone once compromised in OUTWITTED years ago.

What are you asking.
What size is a good voting bloc?
I think you're asking about them and the voting bloc thing is distacting from our purposes here.

tl;dr

What are you asking?
Because I don't see a gerryoat/Sly collaboration.
There is 0% discussion on a voting bloc.

17 players.
Guessing 4-5 anti-town players.
Roughly 40-60% of the town will be PRs in a standard game.

Sure, anywhere in the 5-7 range could bloc early on.
Gets smaller as time goes on ofc but this is normal.

I mean I could easily form a voting bloc of 7 people without even trying.
Remember, though, that I say VOTING BLOC not TOWN BLOC.
Because VOTING BLOCs are allowed to have scum in them and voting blocs can be utilized to see who's willing to vote for who, etc.

I mean, let's not assume anything though.
In post 3253, Toogeloo wrote:I mean we have to operate under the assumption these players are town, so why wouldn't they bloc together if we believe they are town?
No, no we don't.
Gerry could be bullshitting.
Assuming scum can't be a doublevoter is stupid because it is very common these days to see mods go OH HEY THIS IS A VOTING POWER/RESTRICTION but it isn't enforced in My/LyLo. Its like, then why bother doing it?

I admit I have my own reservations about voting roles and do not use them because of the absolute ridiculousness they add to a game. I don't want tallying votes to be a headache. I want it to be simple. SMITE Mafia is a good example of VOTING POWERS EVERYWHERE where it just got annoying trying to do anything, let alone use your abilities.

Spoiler: For Firebringer
There was once a great man, a king of men, who lived in a high hall above a city of his people, living among the vast plans of the earth. They made a simple living, focused on the development of the town, the safety of their families, and the preservation of all that they deemed good and safe. The great king was supported by a number of smaller nobles, whose lines swore allegiance to him and his family, and the countless people in the town below. All worked together for their mutual well-being.

The great king fell ill, and his children assited him with stately affais. The first of these, Princess Spiffeh, vowed to follow her father in the ways of justice and virtue; her goal was to protect the kingdom and its people against all threats to their lands. Little did she know that this was no easy task. People had different ideas. Some wanted what others had. The nobles were often no better, bickering over titles, land grants, and who was closest to her. She had many suitors, but felt that they were more interested in her family name and their proximity to the throne than her own charms.

Trouble surfaced abroad. A nomadic people moved into the region, frustrating many of the citizens of her land. There were minor skirmishes, but nothing that her well-trained military couldn't handle. A small plague erupted in the merchant's ward, fueling shortages of food and paranoia over disease. The science academy worked tirelessly, but stopping one problem only revealed another. Her own family had its share of issues. Princess Spiffeh seeked to protect all of her people but could not determine who were here closest allies and who were her enemies.

War loomed. Disease haunted the wards. Thieves and brigands began looting in the dark allies of the major cities. The country roads proved treacherous. Highwaymen abounded. Coastal towns experienced flooding and ruin. People began to lose faith. Some advocated for a different member of her family. Some said she was uncapable. Some screamed for an end to all of it, and establishing a different order - based on the military, based on the sciences, based on strength.

Hope ever remained, however. Despite the unseen force that seeked to ruin the once-prosperous kingdom, Princess Spiffeh had allies, though she knew of them not. Some operated in the shadows, fighting cutthroats with the blade. Some fought in the courts, fighting bureaucracy with the plume. Many, the common folk, fought every day with their lives as they had done for years, toiling for the betterment of their families and the crown. The king looked as thought he would recover. The royal family was ecstatic.

Then war came. An foreign aggressor arose, and sought to conquer the land of Spiffeh's father while he was weak. This power also fomented rebellious thought in the people at home. What began as thievery evolved into sabotage, and soon, outright war in the streets. Minor houses were always a prime target. Many lost members of their families. A few were wiped out entirely.

And then autumn came. In the weeks of the Golden Harvest the palace itself was attacked. In the chaos, the attackers breached the gates, and swarmed the halls. The guardsmen defended the royal family as they made their escape to a secret transport headed into the mountains. As the family boarded, and Princess Spiffeh turned to help her father, a bolt pierced his back. The guardsmen loaded him into the transport and bade them farewell. Princess Spiffeh held her father as he died, as their guardsmen died, as the capitol burned.

And she vowed that she would have her vengeance.

You told me to tell you a story, so I just started writing.

Thankfully, FB is off the table.
I think it'll be either Gerry or Sly at this point and I don't like how the Sly wagon only popped up right before deadline AS the Gerry wagon was getting motion after the Mason claim.
I thought Sly was town before all this and it just sets me all on edge because Sly's now the biggest wagon IIRC and we were just getting motion on GERRY.

Not to mention Tammy and Nacho are MIA to a degree and the lurker brigade is low-impact so we get the same players talking day in and day out.

Thankfully FB and Nos are off the table now.

I distrust Frogger because he has this complacent attitude where I really don't see him driving things. He's a constant presence, sure, but he's doing so little on his own its maddening.
Desperado is at least far more consistent.

Toog is town. Tammy is town.
Maria is town. Pine is town. Sly, FB, Nos are town. Nacho is town.

I disagree.
We'll have maybe dead masons for the next two nights. Gerry isn't a priority anymore.

If I weren't already committed to sending in a kill in whiny frog scum I'd probably shoot zack.

Firebringer because he claimed protective role, Andrius because he crumbed vig pretty hard, one of the masons if it's not a factional kill and one person who does the killing.
Creature should watch the masons. Obviously.
No contest.

You're also assuming that both [Creature, Fire] are town.
Your plan requires both of them to function.

This game was reviewed by three competent reviewers.
I think the only piece of evidence needed to shoot down your THIS SEEMS TOO POWERFUL is that THERE ARE ANTI-TOWN PLAYERS IN THIS GAME.
They could be Scum Cops, fakeclaiming Miller, Scum 2shot Watcher, etc.

The only thing we know is likely town is MASONS and even then THE ONLY INNOCENTS ARE BODIES.

Are you seriously still scumreading me?
I meant before the Cop claim.
Clearly since you're claiming a PR we all back off and you're insta-town.
Just like everyone else.

You don't seem like the type to be hurt over something like this.
But hey, look, if you're upset I'll work harder to try not being an ass to you.
Ok?
Ok.
I'm not shooting you, and there are at least three players this game who should know my role exactly based on how this day has gone down.
They need not say anything, though.
