The double-vote gained from Skybird's 'Sworn to the Sword' Event exists solely for the purpose of submitting votes for lynches in the game thread and could not be used towards Events unless the Event allowed for such a vote.
Notably, the Beach-A-Palooza event required each
Player
to
submit
a choice of another player.
Furthermore, had Skybird had access to the Pearl account mentioned in their role PM, they would have only been able to submit a single choice regardless, as the Event specifies that each player submits a choice--not each slot.
In short, from their own role PM, there was no way that Skybird could have made multiple selections for the Beach-A-Palooza Event.

"I wonder who will get my donut instead of me. Probably Peedee, he'll be up for his morning jog; Mr. Smiley will have the second donut; Lars will embezzle one; Ronaldo will buy one that he thinks is a mutant; Onion will buy one and take it for granted; and then Mayor Dewey will order a dozen, and then a dozen dozen for the whole town, and then a dozen dozen dozen for all the starving children of the world!
But not for Steven. They'll say, "Where's Steven? We saved a donut for him." They won't see me, because I'm in the sky. And then they'll feed my donut to a dog.
...and then I'll die."

I will have extremely limited access between tonight and December 6th.
During this time, if a lynch happens, please bear with me and be understanding of my situation.
I will do my best to check in on the game, post VCs, and provide a thread lock if needed.
Thank you all for playing this far. You're all fantastic; I couldn't ask for a better playerlist. <3

In its prime, The Communication Hub was a massive structure of pillars and light that allowed Gems to send messages world-wide and even out into the far reaches of space. As it stood now, it was merely rubble, smashed to pieces and reaching out to no one. It seemed that Pearl and Sapphire had made it in the nick of time as well, as they quickly closed in on gem creatures making quite a ruckus on the site. It seems as though the Crystal Gems weren't the only ones looking to rout these creatures--the oldest Fryman child, Ronaldo, had been captured by them as well. The boy kicked and called out, "You can't make me talk! Earth won't lose to you rocky invaders! Once I update my blog, everyone will--"
His cries were silenced by a hulking fusion-experiment beast, which covered the boy's mouth with the one dark hand while knocking him out with another. It did not take long for the Crystal Gems to spring to action, cutting down the creatures and bubbling everyone involved. Pearl exhumed a tiny sigh, "It seems like every person in Beach City is going to be in the hospital before this is over..."
Sapphire merely shook her head, taking a seat atop a toppled pillar. "I would think not. If we wait here, the Rubies will be routed."
And, so, the defenders of Earth stood guard, waiting and ready for their enemies.

Due to the vigilance of the Crystal Gems, the Rubies were never able to secure the Communication Hub and enact whatever plan they had. Of course, they did arrive, ducking behind a rock as they noticed the vicious renegade Pearl and her ally.
The one Ruby turned to the other, forming a weapon and scowling, "Do we take them? We have to get off this rock."
To this, the other quickly relented, "No, no! They beat the fusion monsters. We should think of a different plan."
Begrudgingly, the Rubies left the site, frustrated and looking to somehow make up for this loss. While earlier efforts and diversions had gone off without a hitch, they still hadn't found Jasper or a way off the planet, leaving them with little recourse. A frustrated sigh marked their departure--starkly juxtaposed to Pearl's hummed tune. Something began to boil within these Rubies, a jealousy turned to hatred, as they marched away from the valiant defenders of Earth. Turning for a last look, Ruby saw Sapphire looking right at her, as if knowingly. In that moment, both seemed to acknowledge that a fight here would be meaningless.
Pearl, unaware of this turn of events, glanced to her ally, grinning, "Something on your mind?"
Sapphire simply nodded, "Always."

Far away from those fields, in a frozen land of snow and thick trees, another Ruby was at work. As the diligent soldier of Homeworld pressed her hand to a stone surface, an entire mountain rumbled and shifted about, stone pulling back to form an entrance. Ruby glanced over her shoulder, looking out to the frigid yet surprisingly verdant landscape behind her. For a moment, thoughts of the wars over this thriving rock played out in her mind. Brushing them back, she continued about her work, disappearing into the dark recesses of the mountain's inner sanctum, grumbling to herself, "If Jasper isn't to be found, then we'll just have to cull the rebels ourselves."
Sapphire opened her eye and reached out for someone that wasn't there. She only found Pearl, ever stalwart in her defense of the place, spear at the ready. Pearl looked to her friend, speaking briefly, "Any luck?"
The clairvoyant gem only shuddered. "Plenty of Rubies, but none of them mine."
Pearl, trying to be optimistic, to hold the team together, chanced an uplifting smile, "Then we'll just have to find our Ruby the old fashioned way!"
To this, Sapphire descended from her seat and only offered a solemn sigh. It would help nothing to tell Pearl of the myriad of dark futures she had seen. All that could be done now was to rally forth and forge a tomorrow worth fighting for.
Shiro has been removed from the game as a part of an effect. This will not cause the stress to change.

All this time, Steven's lion had stayed by his side, loyal in protecting the young master. The boy stared out of the nearby hospital window, musing to his furry friend, "Ah, I never get to see Beach City like this, Lion. All the lights that come on the boardwalk at night, the cars passing and going, the strange glow coming from the fissures left after the Cluster almost destroyed the entire planet--wait, hold on!"
Snapping from his reverie and giving that light another look, Steven recognized several gem-mutants crawling out from the earth. Instead of blindly lumbering around, they all left in droves, heading North. The boy pulled himself from the window and made to leave his room, but his Lion looked to have none of it, pushing him back into bed.
"Lion, what's this? I need to go see what they're up to! I need to warn someone!" Lion simply shook its head and put a paw on Steven's chest. To this, Steven yielded, "You're saying I should stay here? But--"
Before he could protest any more, the pink familiar was leaping through a portal of its own design, teleporting away into the night. Once more, the hospital was still and quiet, leaving Steven to stare out the window. "...hope you come back soon, Lion."

Far away from there, the other Crystal Gems were at work routing Homeworld. Unsure of where to strike next, Pearl paced tirelessly about the temple before realizing something very important.
"The Moon! Sapphire, we never followed them back there!"
Sapphire, already resting on the teleportation stone, merely chuckled. "That's right." It was as if she was waiting for Pearl to come to this conclusion. Just outside, Steven could make out the tale-tell light of the gems warping away. With his hand on the door knob, he sighed, looking out to the ocean.
"...guess I was too late to warn them. Wonder where they went." His eyes lifted to the full moon, hanging ominously in the sky. Unable to help his allies, Steven simply shook his head, resolving to get some rest and wait until they came back.
The Event, "BACK TO THE MOON" has been triggered.
All members of the Crystal Gems Faction are effectively removed from the game during the Climax Phase.
They will return to the game at the start of the next Episode.
Stress has been reset to neutral (zero). Due to this change in stress happening at the start of the Climax Phase, this will be the effective Stress when determining what actions may be submitted during Climax 8.

Shadow_Step's role has been revealed at this time.
Shadow_Step was Leggy, aligned with the
Threats to Earth
.
Due to this, Stress has decreased by 2, towards 'Slice of Life'.
While this change has happened during the Climax Phase, all action submission and resolution will adhere to the stress from the start of the Climax phase.
Leggy's full role functions as follows:
Spoiler:
Leggy, The Ruby On Her First Mission
Wait! So we just... get up and walk around? Whoa-!
You are aligned with the Scum Faction. You are a Gem.
I'll just go stand over here then.
You have no Episode Event or other abilities.
You may not commit the factional kill unless you are the last surviving member of your team or if stress is at -2 or lower.
Any attempt to investigate if you have access to a kill will provide a negative result until this point in time.
Any attempt to investigate if you have any abilities, Climax-abilities, or other actions will provide a negative result until this point in time.

Elsewhere, a slick car flashed down the highway. Kevin, a human boy and self-professed cool dude, pressed his foot to the gas, his car roaring over a hundred miles an hour. As he took a curve, his eyes went wide at the sight of the lumbering beast before him, though he hardly stopped--plowing right into the gem monstrosity. Ever cool, Kevin exclaimed, "Get off my planet, you freak!"
The creature, of course, did not take kindly to this, its many fists slamming into the hood of the car, tearing metal apart. Kevin only sped through the night faster, hoping to shake the beast. Soon, he came across a horde of watermelon-like creatures, all sentient, also in the middle of the road. With a ducked head, he cried, "What the heck is going on tonight," as his fancy ride was rendered to a smouldering mess of metal, watermelon, and several alien creatures clinging for dear life as they all sped through the night, hurdling faster and faster to their fate.
The gems returned to find Steven sleeping on their doorstep. With a smile and a sigh, Pearl tucked him in to bed, turning back to notice a Ruby at their doorstep now--one of the Homeworld Rubies! Pearl was quick to draw her spear, but Sapphire stepped between them, exclaiming, "Wait--let's hear her out."
Pearl only kept her stance, stepping to Sapphire's side protectively. Assuming a rather maternal and distanced tone, Pearl forewarned, "Even if she's alone, she's with Homeworld. We can't trust her."
The rather sheepish Ruby waddled into their living room, clutching her hands together. "Yes, I'm with Homeworld, but, the other Rubies are up to something bad. I just thought, maybe, well, we're all gems, so--"
As soon as the Ruby stepped forward, Pearl thrust her lance into the poor creature, poofing her and returning her to a gem state. Sapphire simply shook her head, bubbling the Ruby away. "Pearl, we must afford kindness to even our enemies. If we don't--"
Before she could admonish Pearl any more, a large explosion rocked Beach City. Both gems cast their eyes out to the boardwalk, where a pillar of flame and smoke lit up the horizon.
Farside22 has been killed. She was Kevin, aligned with
Earth
.
Kevin's full role functions as follows:
Spoiler:
Kevin, The Coolest Character In This Show
I look like a guy you know? That's impossible. There's only one... Kevin.
You are aligned with the Town Faction. You are a Human.
Your whole "two kids in a beautiful trench coat" routine won't fool me this time, so don't even try it!
Two-Shot. Climax-Phase only. You may target a player to discover what their allying bonus is and who they are allied with.
During the Season Finale, this power will also inform you of any allying bonuses that their allies have as well.
During the Season Finale, this power is refunded one shot.
Have we met before?
Many of your abilities will earn you 'Kevin Points', which are a kind of currency that you can use to fuel other abilities that you have.
I will be keeping track of your total number of Kevin Points.
At any point in time, you may PM me to ask how many Kevin Points you have.
Heh. I see what's going on here. You've had a taste of Kevin, and now you're obsessed.
If a player ever allies with you more than once, you gain one Kevin Point.
I know, baby. I'm the worst.
All actions that target you fail. Every time an action fails in this way, you gain one Kevin Point.
Players who have their actions fail due to this ability will be informed that it was you who caused their action failure.
You know, this mountain pass has some really beautiful views. Shame you'll only be seeing my tail lights the whole time.
During the Climax Phase, you may target a player to cause their non-factional actions to fail.
Players who have their actions fail due to this ability will be informed that it was you who caused their action failure.
Every action that you cause to fail in this way causes you to gain one Kevin Point.
I know you want to be close, but this is a little clingy.
At any point in time, you may immediately end the alliance you are in to cause your allies to lose access to all their allying bonuses.
Players in your alliance will be informed that the alliance was disbanded by you, on purpose.
Every time you disband an alliance in this way, you gain one Kevin Point for each ally that you jilt.
The truth is I don't mean to be this way. I-I just lash out because of my little brother. He's sick. Been sick all our lives. Sometimes I think if I act real cool and never let anyone see my pain, then maybe the pain will go away. And maybe... I can take his pain away, too.
You may claim that you and another player share a Masonry.
So long as the other player does not refute this claim within their next five posts, this ability is successful and you gain three Kevin Points.
Dude! I don't even have a brother! I'm like this because I think it's funny! Chowzers!
You may have me mod-confirm in the public thread that you are NOT masons with the claimed player.
Doing so increases the Stress by one point.
Doing so also earns you three more Kevin Points.
Finally. You caught up. I was worried you'd miss seeing me win.
The first time that you are lynched, the votecount will reset instead--this also resets the deadline.
If you are 'lynched' in this way, you will gain two Kevin Points.
It's Kevin time.
At any point in the game, you may exchange Kevin Points for extra voting power.
You may only ever exchange up to a maximum of Kevin Points equal to 1/2 the votes required to lynch a player.
This ability may never let you be the single voting player on a lynch.
First one to the bottom wins, but you don't have to worry about that last part.
If, at any point in the game, you have twenty Kevin Points, I will inform you.
If this is the case, then you will be able to leave the game for a unique third party win.
EVENT:
Come on, how am I going to get a cool-down lap if no one wants to go?
EPISODE EVENT: Exposition Only--Trigger during the Climax Phase.

REQUIREMENTS: +1 or higher Stress, at least 5 Kevin Points
Tied to the Flavor of the episode "Beach City Drift."
You will challenge a player to a race.
Target a player. That player may publicly leverage non-factional information about their role and actions in order to earn points towards winning the race.
Once they ante up their information, you may spend however many Kevin Points that you want in order to win.
You will always win the race. If you don't have enough Kevin Points, you will lose all your Kevin Points.
They will be told that if they win, they get fabulous prizes, but they can not win.
If the player submitted at least five points of information, you gain back five Kevin points.
If the player submitted at least ten points of information, you may have me publicly confirm all the information they submitted.
If the player submitted at least fifteen points of information, you may choose to make that player lose all of their abilities, factional and otherwise.
Publicly, all that will be revealed is the fact that you are racing a player and that they may leverage points of information in order to attempt to win.

Once again, I urge that if anyone has flavor questions, to just ask me.
I will not deny that flavor is a strong component of this game, but it has also been balanced such that reliance on flavor over gameplay/rhetoric/mechanics will always lead you to defeat.
@Varsoon: when Skybird was removed from the game by a trap for clods, was she still considered in an alliance? In addition, did her protection also protect her from events?
Players removed from the game are not considered to be a part of any alliance.
Skybird's protection only specifies 'abilities'--Events, notably, bypass this protection.

In Beach City, the chaos seemed to be settling down. What was once a boiling catastrophe had cooled off into a tense simmer. Steven, unable to sleep, merely looked out to the waves lapping on the beach. With a deep sigh, the boy cast his eyes to the moon, openly wondering, "I hope they're alright..."
On the moon, the tension was more than palpable. The Crystal Gems rushed up a flight of spiraling stairs as the large murals of Homeworld's matriarch's, the Diamonds, seemed to glare down at them from those cold walls. Upon reaching the control room, Sapphire and Pearl skidded to a halt, gasping at the scene that was unfolding before them. Pearl shook her head in disbelief, crying out, "No--no way!"

The floor of the circular chamber was littered with the splattered corpses of dozens of watermelon creatures, some still feebly dragging themselves across the mirrored tiles, their liquid entrails smearing out behind them in gory display. At the center of this carnage was a lone figure--a Ruby, hands dripping and covered in watermelon seeds. She turned to face the Crystal Gems, though Pearl was quick to close their distance with her spear! In a flash of light, a grotesque forced-fusion hybrid leapt up to block the attack and grab Pearl's spear away as if it were a mere toothpick. The beast flung Pearl across the room and unleashed an ear-splitting shriek. Trembling with fear, Sapphire fell to her knees; the abomination only further reminded her of her own missing Ruby and how she longed to be Garnet.
With a step forward, the Homeworld Ruby lifted Sapphire by the scruff of her collar. Her voice was sinister and direct, "You're a Sapphire. You're going to help me find Jasper, then we're abandoning this doomed planet." Before Sapphire could protest, the forced-fusion beast crushed Sapphire in its overgrown hand, forcing her to return to the stasis of her Gem. The Ruby glanced back to Pearl as she made her way to the stairs, chuckling darkly to the fusion-beast, "Do with her as you please. Even if you can't finish her off, there's no way she's getting back to her beloved Earth after I'm done here."
While all hope may have been lost on the moon, the fate of Earth hadn't been decided yet. Silent hands readied themselves for the coming storm. While the harrowing forced-fusion monsters had shattered and weakened many of Earth's strongest alliances, a small group of humans and gems alike were rallying themselves for one last battle, sharpening their weapons and waiting for the moment to strike. As it was thousands of years ago--Earth would not go down without a fight.
The Scum Factional Event, "KEEPING IT TOGETHER" was triggered and resolved during Climax 9 with the following effects:
All alliances fail to form.
Any players who would have retained an Alliance from Episode 9 now instead take one less vote to lynch for Episode 10.
Adds +3 Stress, towards Tragic Destiny.
MagnaofIllusion has been killed. However, due to an effect, their role's information has not been revealed yet.
Furthermore, due to this, the stress will not change at this time due to their death.
Grapes has been removed from the game as a part of an effect. This will not cause the stress to change.

When Amethyst fell, Pearl felt as though she had let down the Crystal Gems, but found new resolve despite it all.
With Steven hospitalized, Pearl's hope had faded, her face hardly bearing a smile.
Now that Garnet had been split and taken by Homeworld, Pearl had lost nearly everything that she fought for. Tears streaming down her cheeks, she pulled herself to her feet, using her spear to weakly pick herself back up from the forced-fusion's onslaught. As the beast closed in on her, she bit back those tears, delivering a single slash that felled the creature. With a deep sigh, Pearl exhumed, "We still have Earth. All is not lost, Rose."
Upon returning to the sanctuary, Pearl found Steven fast asleep near the teleporter. With a soft laugh, the gem ruffled a hand through Steven's hair. A distant look came upon her as she softly broke the news to the sleeping boy, "Homeworld has Garnet. But don't worry, Steven. They haven't won yet. So long as I breathe, I will carry on Rose's hopes and dreams for this planet, and for you."
MagnaofIllusion's role-information has been revealed:
He was Garnet, aligned with

At this time, there is no reason for me to extend forth an extension.
As for my own relative absence--my father is in the hospital and I have limited access.
That said, should any events happen that are time sensitive, I will extend the deadline for the amount of time between their submission/activation and when I am capable of resolving them--I have already adjusted the deadline to accommodate this delay.
Regardless, if there is a lynch or the current deadline hits, I will be locking the thread as soon as I can.

After reviewing the circumstances regarding grapes' absence, I have made the following decisions:
There will be no extension to the deadline beyond what was already offered.
grapes will be issued a prod and reminder to stay active.
All players will be encouraged to be active as well.
I understand that, at this point in a game, it can be hard to keep up or post regularly.
However, I still urge everyone to post within the regular expectations.
I will not be forgiving on this front--your own failure to engage with the game is a burden that you will have to bear.
Extensions will be granted on the basis of moderator absence/issues and when force replacements need to be found.
At this point in time, grapes will not be force-replaced from the game; things will continue on their regular schedule.
As always, thank you for bearing with me through these hard times.
Love,
Varsoon

For the next several hours, Pearl worked restlessly to locate the leader of Homeworld's Ruby Squad. Peridot's old pod was still hooked into the teleporter system and it wasn't long until Pearl discovered a startling array of teleporters were not just active--but were currently in use! Pearl ran her fingers over the digital readouts, eyes growing wide as she realized that all of these teleporters were ferrying their users to a singular place; Watermelon Island.
Spear in hand, Pearl took a sharp breath and stepped onto the telepad within the temple. Familiar light enveloped her. As the bright curtain trailed away to the familiar landscape of Watermelon Island, Pearl gasped. The entire place was packed thick with forced-fusion gem monsters. Even more startling was the fact that they didn't attack Pearl--they simply shambled in unison towards the shore. More arrived on the telepad behind Pearl, stepping around her as they ushered forth to their enigmatic destination.
Following the pack with caution in her step, Pearl soon came to a large outcropping of rocks, where she found not one but two gems that she hadn't expected to see--the leader of the Homeworld Rubies and Lapis Lazuli.
The Ruby barked at Lapis, "That useless Sapphire wouldn't help me and look at her now!" She held up Sapphire's gem, cracked and clutched tight in her hand. "I know your powers. I also know that Jasper is still out there--you're going to find her for me."
Lapis, frustrated, looked as if she were to resist, but was held tight in the binding grasp of the forced-fusion monsters that seemed to be at the Ruby's beck and call. With a sigh, she dropped to her knees and approached the waterfront. Feet in the water, Lapis muttered softly, "It's true..."
The Ruby's eyes lit up. "...and?"
"...that I have been on this planet much longer than you," Lapis continued, turning to notice Pearl in the crowd, "I've grown familiar with its oceans. Seventy percent of this rock is covered in water. No one can hide from me."
At this, Lapis turned darkly to her tormenter, her would-be Homeworld Jailer, voice cracking into a furious roar, "And that includes you!"
With that, the tide soared high above the entire island, crashing down and causing many of the fusion-monsters to lose their forms from the sheer force of the wave. As the tsunami raged, Lapis conjured a mad tempest and continued forward, water ebbing around her. "This is my home now! I won't let you or anyone else take it way from me! I'll sink this entirely island and ensure that Homeworld never succeeds in another one of their twisted missions again!"
What happened next was a frenzy of creatures leaping about, impaled by spears of water. Some attempted to flee, including Pearl, only to be washed about in the swiftly moving current. Even Ruby, who tried to stand her ground, was taken by the storm. Soon, it all died down, leaving no trace of Watermelon Island save bubbles and froth marking its descent into the ocean.
The Climax Event "I CAN'T GET DISTRACTED, I'VE GOT TO HOLD US DOWN WITH THE WEIGHT OF YOUR PLANET'S OCEAN!" has resolved with the following Effect:
Grapes and Almost50 have been removed from the game for the duration of Episode 11.

In Beach City, lights were left on for a friend who never came. At a lonely table set for two, a woman sighs and looks to the window, her eyes cast to the sea. Something about its stillness fills her with a sensation that has her clutching at her chest and leaving the room.
That night, everything is still. Painfully so. No one walks the streets. One by one, lights are turned off and the city goes to sleep. The last house to dim its lights is the one that belongs to the lonely old woman.
When the sun rises, hers is the first house to open its doors, the first with a pie in the windowsill and a place made at the table for a visitor long overdue.
Episode 11's Exposition begins with the Exposition Event, "WELL, WHATEVER YOU ARE, DON'T BE A STRANGER," with the following effects:
For the duration of Episode 11, Randomidget and Shiro are considered to be allied, separate from and alongside any other alliance they are both in otherwise. This alliance will only be functional so long as both players are living members of the game.
Randomidget and Shiro may not negatively affect each other during this Episode.
The Stress has been reduced by the number of times that these two players have allied before--in this case; by 1.
