this looks like the beginning of a dirty gay LEGO porno!
not that there's anything wrong with that!
back to the game... while i understand the need & importance of a D1 random bandwagon, and while i have great respect for mith, i don't like the Coron bandwagon... he hasn't done anything scummy yet, so why start voting for him?

that's exactly what i inferred, but you still have not claimed a specific role...VisMaior wrote:Hm, when I said I was a bad one to be lynched, I was implying that I am a role you would not want to loose (I think).
so are the scum...VisMaior wrote:Would you mind? Im trying to stay low here.
you misspelled my usernname, scum...VisMaior wrote:Also,vote LyningBrian
vote: VisMaior
now will you claim?!?-

what do you have to lose besides making yourself look even scummier... you've already made it pretty clear that you would claim a power role of some sort... the only power role that would be afraid of claiming is the doctor (any other role could be protected by the doctor depending on believability), which is why the mafia would target you tonight anyway, so, how about it, scum/dense townie (see, i can do it too )?!..VisMaior wrote:Not for you, scum/dense townie.
besides, you're not claiming just for me, but for the following:
VisMaior [8] - Flying Dutchman, Fritzler, inHimshallibe, LyingBrian, mith, PeaceBringer, RoadBird, VitaminR-

my humblest apologies, but do you mind sharing your suspicion, oh great website creator?mith wrote:That said, becoming more suspicious of another player might, and LyingBrian and Flying Dutchman are both edging up there.
P.S.
what is this referring to?...mith wrote:VM, I asked for three, not half the town.-

well i willPsalm 32: 6-8 wrote:6 Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you
while you may be found;
surely when the mighty waters rise,
they will not reach him.
7 You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.

8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you and watch over you.unvotefor discussion... a couple of questions for everybody...
1. Does anyone think context is important to the interpretation of the role?
2. If so, who is David speaking to in verse 8? the Bible uses "you" in all 3 verses i quoted, yet i don't think that David is not talking to the same person in all 3 verses...-

it seems like we've got another bandwagon going in Flying Dutchman, but i think we should lynch either Flying Dutchman or VisMaior as further bandwagons will only lead us to reveal ALL our power roles...
@mith
do you have a "normal" D1 strategy?... as in do you hold to bandwagon & claim, or random bandwagon, or something else...
me, myself, & i, i'm pretty silly on D1 which is exactly what the "hi" post & the "oh great website creator?" post was...-

i don't think we have 2 hiders in the game....
the silent speaker was given the reference Job 14:13 upon his death, which i would attribute more to a hider than Psalm 32:7, the reference VisMaior is claiming...
Job 14:13 - "you would hide me...and conceal me"
Psalm 32:7 - "you will protect me"
maybe the key is in the verb?!?... just a thought...-

@Fuldu, RoadBird
you misinterpreted my post (somehow that's ironical)... i meant that i thought the silent speaker was a hider & VisMaior was a doctor... that wouldn't be unusual in a game this size, would it? the reason i partial quoted the verses was a) b/c i figured anybody could look up the full verse, b) i was trying to emphasize the verbs...
@Flying Dutchman
if you won't claim w/ 9 votes, then why shouldn't we lynch you? my vote stays...
i'm not sure i understand this question fully... if you're asking why i think Cadmium will not reveal the roles, the answer is b/c he said he wouldn'tRoadBird wrote:Besides the extremely bad quoting you are implying that God....euh...Mod will not tell us whether someone had a particular role. What do you base that spooky thought on?Cadmium wrote:Upon death, only the verse number of the deceased players will be given.-

Fuldu wrote:Which is the backtrack I had expected to hear, but it's still not consistent with the fact that tss died. Nor is it consistent with the fact that you didn't use the word "doctor" anywhere in the post, which was why I went ahead with my accusation when that possibility occurred to me. Your post looked then, and still looks, like what I said it did. The fact that it was framed in a way that allows for an alternative explanation doesn't make it any less scummy seeming.
are YOU trying to shift suspicion on whoever shows a little weakness?!? true, i should've "framed" the post better, but my vote was on Flying Dutchman at the time... i think you would have more of a case against me if i had FOS'd or even voted VisMaior... as soon as VisMaior claimed i unvoted... i was just trying to give some insight...

@RoadBird, Flying Dutchman
how would the Mafia fit into the flavour of the Old Testament?.. (i'm assuming OT for now, b/c we haven't seen any NT verses) if this were NT, i would say maybe the Pharisees, but i can't think of 1 group that would cover BOTH Job & Psalms (Job's friends & Philistines, individually, respectively)... i think it might be a fallacy to think this game is designed to fit the flavour of the game... i think Cadmium just used Bible verses to describe the roles...
@mith
thank-you for that explanation... it is extremely helpful & informative...-

on any other day, i don't like random bandwagons, but i've never seen any major scum tells that didn't come from a random bandwagon or two... we really don't have any good discussion that i can analyze as "scummy" or not "scummy"... i tend to agree w/ VisMaior that someone not claiming when they are 1 vote from lynch is "suspicious", but i also understand the meta-game & in-game reasons for not claiming...
@mith
i'm not sure what "generational" clash you were talking about... you are more experienced, and i seriously respect you for that... i doubt you're THAT much older than me though...-

my comment was not against players who are bandwagonned, but against a player (Zippy) who is trying to start ANOTHER bandwagon w/o defending his own... if my bandwagon will help the town find scum, then by all means, go ahead... there haven't been any REASONS behind the bandwagon, however...
BTW, i like the spin & defense...NOTED-

that's EXACTLY my point, VitaminR! if he's NOT a vanilla townie, then he must have a role... we can reasonably assume that armlx was pro-town... 3 of the 4 people who have died so far have BLACK text following their names... and everybody knows that pro-town roles make up the biggest percentage of players... i think we can also reasonably assume that armlx's verse is the vanilla townie verse... which brings me back to my question...
what is RoadBird's role based on the verse he claimed? a "thanker"?-

i need to reread in order to find a good candidate for my vote... although i must say i like VisMaior's bandwagon...
@LoudmouthLee
do you mind clarifying the point then?.. at the point at which i said that mith had not claimed yet... how would you interpret RoadBird's verse in light of this being a Mafia game w/o the context of mith's verse?.. it would seem that mith, RoadBird, and whoever else are townies able to confirm each other... also, i never IMPLIED that i "couldn't understand" why someone was innocent, i SAID that i "couldn't understand" what his role was... BIG difference... twisting MY words to fit YOUR contextNOTED...-

@RoadBird
would you mind giving us an example for everyone to judge where you think i twisted somebody's words, rather than making a blanket statement that i have done so?...
@PookyTheMagicalBear
why are you voting for me?
@LoudmouthLee
i don't think you are scum, but i do think you're overanalyzing... i notice that you didn't answer either of my questions directed at you... where did i say or even imply i thought RoadBird was innocent?.. i originally vote for RoadBird to see how he would react to his bandwagon... he never gave me a reason to unvote, especially when he claimed his Bible verse... it did not seem to specify a specific role, and i did not think it was a "vanilla" townie role verse (since we had armlx's verse)... it was not until mith claimed his verse that i unvoted... i have no reason to suspect mith & RoadBird as a scum team, but i definitely can buy them as townies not knowing they could confirm each other... please feel free to point out any posts that you feel are contradictory... i think that your observations are good for the most part, but i think they would be better spent focused on VisMaior...
*inHimshallibe
i dislike your vote on my bandwagon the most... i don't think you've really been keeping up with the game, i think you just read LoudmouthLee's post & decided mine would be a good bandwagon to join...

you STILL haven't answered my questions...FOS: LoudmouthLee... and you didn't even respond to my last post!..
@RoadBird
a) i don't think i've EVER said that it was a KNOWN fact that armlx was a vanilla townie... i said we could reasonably assume that...LyingBrian in post #357 wrote:we can reasonably assume that armlx was pro-town
b) where exactly did i twist somebody's words... changing my opinion is different...LyingBrian in post #357 wrote:i think we can also reasonably assume that armlx's verse is the vanilla townie verse
c) could you give us a post # or a quote? that way it would be easier to know EXACTLY what you're talking about
@inHimshallibe
don't take it personally... it just one person's opinion based on reading the thread... if you are following the thread then i would like more commentary on why you think i'm scum... i would like you to examine ALL the evidence and try to understand it from my point of view...
@VisMaior
i NOW dislike your vote on my bandwagon the least... you added no content to describe WHY you think i'm scum... it seems the person previously under pressure is just trying to lynch whomever is most convenient... definitely scummy...
unvote
vote: VisMaior
@mith
what do you think about my scumminess in all of this?.. am i just not defending myself well enough, or do you think LoudmouthLee has a GOOD point... if i'm going to be lynched i would like the lynching vote to come from you... you seem to be a well-balanced player...

well, i was hoping to NOT have to do this, but for metagame reasons, i think it would be best... my verse is as follows:
i do NOT have a night choice, and i was not given anybody else's name... the way i interpret the verse is that if 1 specific person does not die, i will stay town, but that if the person dies, i become scum?!? i decided to claim this verse even though it will surely mean my death, b/c it is in my best interest to help the town as mathmatically speaking i will be town much more often than scum... i have honestly been playing as pro-town, b/c i was unsure of my role, and b/c i didn't have any names that i was affiliated with or that i could defend...Deuteronomy 31:29 wrote:For I know that after my death you are sure to become utterly corrupt and to turn from the way I have commanded you. In days to come, disaster will fall upon you because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD and provoke him to anger by what your hands have made.
@LoudmouthLee
so your observation that i have a role different from the townie role is correct... i NEVER thought RoadBird was innocent until mith claimed his verse... his claiming an ambiguous verse only helped him seem MORE scummy to me...
the only reason i can see to keep me alive would be to use the information i've given in the future... lynching me is not the WORST idea, IMHO...

good point, i can honestly say i didn't think about that... it got me thinking, so i researched the dead player's verses again...
the silent speaker - Job 14:13 - 2nd person
Flying Dutchman - Hosea 2:6 - 1st person
armlx - Acts 20:26 - 1st person
PeaceBringer - Numbers 35:16 - 3rd person
the person after each verse describes in my opinion the person that the role should be interpreted from... hmmm, what does everybody else think?..-
