Succinct reports of the game's progress up until now are appreciated before I begin the inquisition.

One wagon is much stronger than the other.

Vote: Haylen

A scumilicious mixture of IIOA, varying excuses for not posting, and a complete and utter lack of dedication to scum hunting.

Haylen, confess your sins now, and it'll be easier for you.

To everyone else, I urge an iso read of haylen and see just how little she wants to help find scum. her votes are, in order: a self-vote, a halfhearted return vote (I won't call this one omgus, but it certainly isn't helpful), and an honest-to-goodness omgus vote.

So again I say: Confess your sins, Haylen.
You will confess.

Sir Chris: Why are you opposed to a Haylen lynch? She is clearly the best pick. And no, we don't have a ton of time here.

IIOA is information instead of analysis.

Using meta as a defense only works when others have attacked you using your meta or if it's really easily provable (e.g. you always vote self in RVS). Otherwise, it does nothing for me.

I'm not interested in punishing you for your absence. I'm interested in lynching the scum. Which is you.

As for your "gut" that's not remotely helpful to the town, and it's a way to try and escape responsibility for your own actions.

So I say again, Haylen: Confess your sins.

To everyone else: more votes on Haylen.
You will confess.

Clearly? Enlighten me if you will, but no-one as I know of is anywhere near a best pick.
One wagon is much stronger than the other.
Also this. Picking wagons again. Although I see nothing that DeathNote said (besides possible lurking) that would contribute to scum wagoning.
(I do love how you work for the pope and all. :p)
My statement was that one wagon is stronger than the other. That is true. That does not preclude the one wagon being the strongest wagon possible at this time. But even if that were what I was trying to say (and it was not), we have approximately 48 hours to get a majority in a game that does not have widespread activity. To establish the case for a new lynch on someone without many votes would be foolish.

Haylen is the best pick today because she provides nothing to town. She has avoided the game for whatever reason (whether we believe her sob stories or not is irrelevant). Day 1 is good because it can lay the foundation for further inquiry in future days. If a player tries their hardest to provide anything to tie them up with, then they're scummy.

In addition, Haylen feels no urge to actually find scum. She wants to defend herself, sure, but there is no urgency in her need to push for a lynch.

Whether or not you agree with the "clearly" part, I doubt your alignment if you really want to argue that she's town. Most of the time, the best you can do on Day 1 is lynch someone who is not evidently town. I'd argue we've got more solid backing here than that, but even if we're just trying to lynch someone who is not evidently town, Haylen fits that bill.

So CrueKnight: Why are you not voting Haylen?
You will confess.

Agreed. Claim because now you look like you're softclaiming to try and get people off your wagon but without the risk of being tied to a single PR later.

Let me make it clear, Haylen: you are shooting someone tonight. It is the only town play. If two die, then you're probably cleared (possible SK, but that's a ton of killing for a 12 person game). If one dies, you were either roleblocked (in which case the RB couldn't go after someone else), lying, or you were killed yourself, which means we probably don't have a doctor.

You whine more than a stuck pig.

My mistake, this is a 15 player game. SK or two scum groups is possible. Still, you should definitely shoot.

oh, and of course I overlooked the possibility that haylen IS SK. It's a pretty common SK play.

how about:

See, Haylen. Now's where you can use meta to defend yourself. Link me to a number of games where you claim you've been really busy for various reasons and where you say, "I'm terrible at playing as scum."

That wasn't the point. Your reaction to pressure was the point. You said you were lurking because you've got all these other things going on. But the method you chose to do it is different from what I can tell.

Notice the change in tenor from this: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... 61#1883361 where Haylen was Doc

to this: http://mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 625#192762 where Haylen was scum.

We COULD do that, but consider the implications.

First, if she's SK or there are two mafia, there's no way to know if her kill was a vigil kill or a mafia/sk kill. I disagree that 15 players=no sk. Seems rather flimsy to me. Furthermore, Haylen has been universally praised for her SK play in the past (see 2009 Scummies nominations), so if our mod is less than ethical, she might have a greater than 1/15 chance of being the SK.

Second, if there's no kill on that player what do we decide? It could either be 1) that Haylen is vigil but was roleblocked by mafia who would have every reason to roleblock her [don't want to get killed + want to implicate her] or 2) that Haylen is not in fact the vigil.

So I don't see allowing her to target someone in particular as particularly helpful.

I believe we have what we need here. Someone else can hammer. And no, hammering doesn't necessarily make you more or less scummy, so hammer with impunity!

Haylen, you had your opportunity to confess. God shall be your judge.
