Unvote: Mr. Stoofer
Seriously DLMF, you've been around long enough to know that putting someone -2 to lynch is a big deal.
I'm only going to give you one "oh I didn't notice!" pass. The whole point of this game is to read posts. If you can't keep up with 3 random votes you might not have the attention span to deal with what could potentially be a 30 page thread.
@Stoofer: DLMF's vote was stupid, but I'm not ready to put someone at -2 to lynch. I've made a note of what he did, and at this point that is enough.
FoS DLMF.

DLMF has made one post.
It was a vote that put you at -2.
You said everyone vote on him.
You also said putting someone at -2 is not scummy.
I don't understand what part of his post you don't like. I asked a clear and striaghtforward question. Why do you continue to respond in vague terms??

I admire your scum hunting sentiment, but I sincerely hope you aren't leaning towards Option #2. A WIFOM argument determining someone is scum is, well... scummy.zePPeLiN wrote:Quick question to people who have played, When DLMF gets replaiced, im guessing he keeps his role. Now the question is why did DLMF flake...
Option 1: He saw that the forums were down and thought they would be down for a while and just hasnt checked lately.
Opton 2: Saw that his scum buddy pulled the most OMGUS move ever...and thought there was little way he can win.
I am content with the day one discussion at this point. I doubt the other scum is going to do anything as stupid.
Vote: Alasdair
Hope to see you guys in the morning. If not, good luck!

I don't really know how to respond to your question. I'll provide some quotes from me.zePPeLiN wrote:What reason is he on the top of your suspicoun list?
See... when playing, I put a vote on the person whoI wrote:I vote the top of my apparent scum listat the time of my posthas my greatest suspicion. I admit it was a weak acusation, but I also admitted that when I made the vote.
At the time of that post, I felt Death made a good point and his logic lead me to beleive Norinel was marginally scummier than everyone else.I wrote:I agree with you Death: Norinel is very, very slightly suspicous
Wait... WTF? You think he is suspicous too, for the exact same reasons, but call me out on it?zePPeLiN wrote:i kind of agree with Norinel being a little supicous.
Zep, your behavior is confusing to me. Combined with your late day 1 attempt at throwing suspicion on a player who was clearly not playing (his last login was several days before your post) brings you to the honored No1 position on my potential scum list.
Unvote. Vote zePPeLiNBack off, man. I'm a scientist.-

@ NorinelandDeathSauce>
I'm not sure what to make ofbothof you mistaking Norinel for being at -1 to lynch.
I think it is really weird that Norinel misrepresented the events from one page prior. Day Two I put thefirstvote on Norinel. Norinel hasneverbeen at -1 to lynch.

@Norinel, I'm just waiting for your reply before I vote on you.

Unfortunately there'snotanything else to go on. I'm trying to spark conversation by making accusations and guaging people's responses.
If no one does anything the scum can just lurk. If no one does anything this game will be abandoned.
Your response satisfies me.
Seriously everyone, lets actually play this game.

@Death>
This is pretty much what I thought happened, and I honestly had to re-read the thread just to make sure Norinel was the one getting the details mixed up, and not me.Norinel wrote:Yes, that was a misremembering on my part. But you did put a vote on right after DeathSauce registered suspicion, which could be a matter of following any lead that people might go along with; I think that's what I'd confused.
Not much action was taking place, so I put a little pressure on Norinel. However, I'm not ready to put anyone at -1 to lynch. Day One was successful but left us with little information to use for Day Two. I don't want to repeat that trend.
By what logic have you arrived at this conclusion? I disagree, and wonder if this is a fishing trip.DeathSauce wrote:it doesn't appear that we have a cop
Even so, this is no excuse to rush things. There are very few posts from all of us, and unless we get lucky tonight, day three will be incredibly hard for the two town players to come together. (I admit I could be mistaken here, as I am a newer player and find the endgame to still be a little tricky)DeathSauce wrote:No matter what happens tonight the town has a pretty good shot at winning this game.

So... your vote appears to be an OMGUS vote, leaving Drunk or me to hammer. Do you 100% think Norinel is scum? If not, do you feel you have enough information to pick the scum correctly day three?Zep wrote:Seems like me and you are the only ones that are being suspected by other players. It seems like DeathSauce and Peter are drawing more suspicion towards you, so you try to draw more suspicion towards me and hope people will jump on due to lack of activity.

This question applies to me also. I don't share your confidence, and am not anywhereI wrote:Do you 100% think XXX is scum? If not, do you feel you have enough information to pick the scum correctly day three?nearcertain ofanyone'srole. The arguments against Zep and Norinel areweak at best. Even if one of them is scum, we have a 50% chance of getting it right. If we pick wrong, we hardly have 6 pages to work with on day three.
In summary, I don't feel the town has the advantage right now. I was hoping to get something a little more from Norinel, but it appears he has clammed up. I amnotsatisfied with his answers to my question in Post 109.
I've said it before, but I don't play this game to rely on pure luck.
If pressed by the deadline, I will hammer Norinel, only because he is the highest on my suspicious list.
I am also a little weirded out over Drunky's nitpick. I (snarkily, and teasingly) asked him to post his questions (that he claimed he had) but instead he replied with a weird "My vote is on Zep and I ain't budgin'" I don't mean to cast suspicion on him, I'm just a little annoyed, and want to hear more.

That is true. Usually I just plop a vote on my most suspicious. I voted earlier on Norinel like that.
However, I am not completely certain he is scum. Because I have doubts, I'm looking at what Day 3 might look like, and I can't find any reason to believe it will be a logical choice. Rather, I think if Norinel or Zep is lynched, the Scum player certainly will leave the other alive, leaving the remaining players an obvious target. Therefor I will not hammer this soon.
We havn't put pressure on everyone in this game. We have apatheticsix pages to work from. You yourself have said you aren't certain Norinel is scum.
Ijust want some more posts. Me being patient hasabsolutely no negative effect on the town, why are you pressuring me like this?
IGMEOY DeathSauce.

Yeah, my phrasing there is a little awkward. It is supposingyouare scum: It would be a smart move for scum to have two suspicious players (Norinel and Zep), lynch one, than Day Three say "oops, it must be the one that is still alive!"
Please, understand that my questioning here is more of a safe-guard. In the event that we do mis-lynch, I want the town to have more information to work with.

Death, I sincerely appreciate the fact that you have been checking this thread regularly.
I don't think the other three are even playing this game anymore. Given the complete lack of activity, I'm forced to vote with my gut.
If no one has posted by 11pm central time I will be hammering Norinel. I'm tired of refreshing this game and finding no new posts.

I've been re-reading Zep's posts, here are some quotes:
At the time, I read this as Zep being uncertain Alas was scum, and was giving himself wiggle room in case it turned out Alas was town. Oh but wait:Zep wrote:I really hope you are scum, becuase if you are a townie and fake claiming cop you just screwd us.
So... Zep is attacking someone for not insta-hammering, even though he expressed "reservations" about voting on Alas himself.Zep wrote:I dont understand why you have to ask why not to hammer some one who is blatently scum.
---
Here's another fun one:Zep wrote:You can't just ignore a previous players actions when his replacement comes.
---Zep wrote:Ive been reading what DeathSauce has been saying and hes very pro town with his posts. I shouldn't have judged him off DLFM's play.
To me, these seem like some pretty heavy contradictions. Zep appears to be trying to throw suspicion about, but it bites him in the ass every time.
Vote Zep
I'm more comfortable with a vote on Zep, as I think there is more posting evidence against him. Plus, if Norinel stops byjustto hammer, it will make the possible Day Three vote pretty obvious...

I think Zep still could become active. Norinel clearly isn't here and hasn't been for a while.
I think a lynch for "not participating" is a poor choice at this crucial point in the game. However, I put my vote on Zep because I feel he has done some scummy things. If you don't feel he is scummy and want to wait, than by all means wait.

I hate to Meta-Game here...
But if you click Norinel's profile and "list all posts by player" you will notice he has been pretty active in other games.
This leads me to believe he is actively choosing to lurk.
Vote Norinel

I was the scum this game. I really hate being scum, as it requires you to build up trust than completely screw over the people who rely on you.
For those who are interested, there was no pre-game discussion between Alaisdair and I. That little "false cop claim" was purely his work. It took me just as much by surprise as the rest of you, and I honestly was a little frustrated. That might be a good tactic if agreed upon prior, but I think it is in poor taste to dump scum responsibility on your partner like that.
@Death> Your posting made it clear to me that you weren't the cop. You played a pretty good game otherwise. Just keep in mind that the scum players are looking for power roles, and just because you aren't one doesn't mean you can't help keep them hidden.
I took out Stoofer day one only because he was the IC.
@Norinel> All it would have taken for the town to win was you being slightly more involved. I waited the full amount of time to put in my night vote, and had you emerged I would have argued that the mod PMed you asking for a night vote. Why were you lurking so hard??
@Drunky> I assume you investigated Norinel and he came up innocent? I was both happy and concerned when you came up Cop. Your insistence to not vote Norinel was enough of a breadcrumb. Good job mate.

Alasdair, there is such a thing as being a poor winner.
Your move was a gambit, don't confuse that for sound strategy. As your scum partner I didn't appreciate the move. Like I said earlier, I think it is irresponsible to make such a bold play and expect someone else to do all the work.
These games are labeled "Newbie" for a reason. Everyone at the end should offer criticism for each other on how they can be a better player. Saying things like "you got owned" are nonsense under these conditions. You and I don't "win" unless we learn something from this game.
I want to thank Machiavellian for Modding the game. I appreciate the time you sacrifice to give us an environment to play it.
Thanks Stoofer, Death, Norinel, Zep, and Drunky for sticking it out and playing the game to it's completion. I look forward to bumping into you in future games.
Alasdair, I hardly got to know you. Hopefully in the future we can play some games together and collaborate on our next win =)
