Prologue
« on: September 03, 2021, 12:29:35 am »
Ah, the honeymoon phase.  Getting to know everybody.  I'm having pleasant conversations with most people.  I haven't played in a while but I am really excited to be here.  I absolutely adore this theme.

I look forward to chatting with you lovely spectators as well!

Your friend,
Richie

Oracle is maybe the most active from last night and made widespread good impressions.  M. Gustave and AA both mentioned him specifically.

I'm particularly enjoying my conversations with Young Writer and Suzy Bishop.  I offered Suzy an alliance and she accepted.

CONFESSIONAL PROMPT: What do you think of your new tribe? Are you finding more safety in the large size, or struggling to keep up?
Feeling safe is an illusion, but I am reasonably confident in my ability to navigate a tribe even this large and stay safe in the early rounds.

Let's see, I'm trying to get M. Gustave to spearhead something between myself/gustave/AA/oracle and I'm also working an angle to create a trio with AA and Young Writer.  Overplaying as usual.

Oh and I haven't actually really started trying yet but I want a Wes Anderson Fan Club alliance with Suzy, Herman and Young Writer.

Sam is my least favorite I've actually chatted with, and I realize now I haven't even exchanged a message with Kylie yet... woops

Oh Duke exists too I guess.  We have PMed but I still forgot about him.  I think that says something...

Congratulations on completing the first 24 hours of Survivor: A Wes Anderson Production! In recognition of this momentous milestone, I have come to provide stimulation in the form of SPECTATOR ENGAGEMENT. As a note, please do be informed that these questions are being posted to every confessional in identical form. These are not individualized at all - please do not read any intent to guide or influence you, as this would most certainly breach some form of journalistic integrity that I surely hold dear as... I think my character is a journalist? Okay, I'm doing the thing where I type out all my thoughts and I've lost the plot. HERE COME THE QUESTIONS--------

1. With nothing to do but network with your tribe, you will hopefully have learned something about those who you will live with, fight alongside, and ultimately cut loose. What is the most interesting, funniest, or just plain weird thing that you now know about one of your tribemates?

2. Your first challenge has brought with it an interesting conundrum in the form of competing goals to vie for. What do you most hope to achieve when the Flea Market closes? What do you believe your tribemates will reach for?

3. As a hypothetical, consider the following:
"Someone is targeting you to be the next vote-out should your tribe to go Tribal Council. Who is it? Why do they want you gone? Who will you rely on to stay in the game? How worried are you that such a situation might arise?"

Thank you dear, and do remember to have fun!

CONFESSIONAL PROMPT 2: Is there an obvious target in your tribe? If so, who? If not, will that impact how you play this challenge?
Not especially obvious no.  I haven't corresponded with Kylie at all, but that's a failure on my part as much as theirs and no reason to believe they're not communicating with the rest of the tribe.

Anyway I don't need to target anyone specifically at this juncture.  I've got a few folks I'd definitely like to keep safe right now in Suzy, Writer and AA.  I'm also working explicitly with Oracle and I think he's a good candidate to be the leader/shield type for a while, I don't foresee him being in any danger on this tribe.

1. Young Writer speaks Spanish and we've been exchanging some of our messages in Spanish which is always super fun
2. My hope is that I'll bag multiple items.  I kind of doubt many people are going to be fully honest with what they're doing but we'll see if this minimum bid plan opens up the opportunity for me to steal here.
3. I'm not terribly worried about being targeted right now.  If I do get targeted it will be by one of the folks who isn't communicating well with me.

Immunity is good too

The fact that the bidding is exactly $1000 off from the tribe's agreed upon plan is pretty great, it allows me to cast suspicion on those who claimed they wouldn't bid on anything rather than on the people who proclaimed they would bid on certain items.

So these Team Zissou rings can be like an unbreakable alliance friendship bracelet or something, wild

To reveal and offer the Zissou ring to Young Writer or not to reveal it... that is the question

Sharing some reasoning from my modchat

If I do it now the play is Young Writer
[11:28 PM]
They're one of two people I believe would accept the ring without hesitation instead of rejecting it
[11:28 PM]
Getting rejected would be BAD bad right now
[11:28 PM]
I trust Suzy to be a more loyal long term ally without a game mechanic forcing her to be
[11:29 PM]
And YW and I are already in two group chats together with the potential to get involved in more

Here goes nothing

In spite of the Auction nonsense I am still inclined to agree that we are in a good position to survive this tribe.  But damn if it didn't make things complicated.

I have such a deep appreciation for your game sense Writer.  I believe we are on the same page about the importance of the group chat with Suzy.  I see that as the absolute most discrete of all, while most anything else could be shared with AA in the Bureau.  After Gustave started the Four Horsemen chat I had a bit of a back and forth with him where I convinced him the right move was the reveal it to you and trust in our trio the most as an information clearinghouse.  With both of us involved in that chat I'm quite confident we can keep the Horsemen on the right side of you as well.

Hum hum hum... there is something else that Pietro and I are dying to share with you but before I do I'd like to make sure you are actively online so I can get your most immediate and confidential take on the matter.

Your urgent friend,
Richie

He confirmed he was online, I initiated the transfer and told him to be on the lookout for something amazing

Snoop, boy am I happy to see you! Thanks for stopping by.

If pressed to make a single guess, Sam seems a likely candidate for proclaiming he's doing nothing while yoinking items.
