Margot's Library

Margot is a voracious reader. As such, Margot will be talking about books she's reading during the game and dumping her thoughts here.

Why is Margot talking about herself in the third person? Has Margot already gone insane from the large tribe size? Is Margot okay?

The jury is still out.

I just finished Circe. Beautiful prose and I will probably pick up anything else that author puts out in a heartbeat. I'm already a sucker for anything Greek myth and the feminist take on the character was just beautifully done.

I am giving Brandon Sanderson my first real try with "Warbreaker."

So far, the prose is plain but not bad. I can tell already by the first chapter that the magic system is complex but robust. Hard magic seems to be a draw of Sanderson's worlds? I am interested, I haven't read a lot of hard fantasy in my life. I can deal with a different style of prose, as long as the characters are well drawn out all the same.

if i may make a recommendation: This Is How You Lose the Time War

it is gay (sapphic, specifically)
it has a neat semi-epistolary framework, and poetic prose too!
i like the scifi multiverse/butterfly effect setting. it really gets my imagination cranking!
