Chapter Seven: Film Room Mayhem
« on: September 16, 2021, 08:34:38 am »
An outbreak of snout fever rips through the city of Megasaki. Blizzards of infected fleas, worms, ticks, and lice menace the citizenship. Dog flu threatens to cross the species threshold and enter the human disease pool.

Hey all, Wes Anderson here, breaking the third wall for a moment.  You know I wouldn't do this unless I had no choice.  Well, you see, what's happened is I've got the Isle of Dogs cast here and we're all set for a private screening of a little side project I put together awhile back.  The only problem is a pack of wild dogs tore through the film room and ripped apart all the film tape!  Worst of all, I think those dogs had snout fever!

Here's where you come in.  To help me out, you will click this link and fill out a form, after which your time will start and the task will begin.  You will be shown my film, which I'm in the process of stitching back together.  Unfortunately, right now the parts are all out of order, and I need you to help sort it out!

Each section of tape is labeled with a letter, starting with A, and I'll need you to post in your confessional the correct sequential order of the sections.  In other words, if the video you are shown was in three sections, labeled ABC, but the sequentially the correct order was the reverse of how they were shown, the correct answer would be CBA.

There is a one hour maximum time for this challenge.  Entries after one hour has elapsed will not be accepted.

The player who submits the correct answer in the shortest amount of time will win immunity.
If no one submits correctly, the player with the most pieces of film in the correct place in the shortest amount of time will win.  You cannot talk to your fellow tribemates about this challenge.  You may change your answer if you wish to do so, and your last submission within the deadline will be taken.

Oh, and one more thing.  Those dogs are still around here somewhere, so you need to get in and out as fast as you can.  I'm worried if you don't, you could be attacked, and dog flu could cross species to infect you.  In fact, I can state it as a certainty: The player with the worst finish will be infected with dog flu.  If multiple players submit the same "worst" sequence, the player who took the longest to do so will be infected.  Non-submissions will be treated as the worst solution of all.  If multiple players fail to submit, the player infected among them will be random.

Thanks to everyone's help, we were able to piece the short back together.  If you didn't get the chance to view it before, please enjoy:

Now, most of you got in and out fairly quickly.  But who didn't?  And did everyone get the film stitched back together the right way, and who was the quickest?  Many questions.
 Now time for some answers.

Spoiler

First, let's clear out the middle of the pack.

In 4th, Royal Tenenbaum stitched the film back together in 6:25.
In 5th, Duke stitched the film back together in 7:29.
In 6th, Peter Whitman stitched the film back together in 7:47.
In 7th, Richie Tenenbaum stitched the film back together in 10:06.
In 8th, M. Gustave stitched the film back together in 10:27.
In 9th, Herman Blume stitched the film back together in 12:04.
In 10th, Madame D. stitched the film back together in 13:27.

That leaves spots 1-3 and 11-12 still unknown, with Buckley, Margot, Oracle, Suzy, and Young Writer's scores yet to be reported.

Spoiler

In 3rd, it was Buckley, stitching the film back together in 6:21.

Spoiler

The best two scores belonged to Margot Tenenbaum and Young Writer.

Young Writer finished in 6:11.  Margot finished in...

Spoiler

5:11, besting the Writer by one full minute!  Margot Tenenbaum wins immunity!

Spoiler

Now on to the ugly business of who got bitten by that pack of sick dogs.  Two players have yet to show up on the board...

Spoiler

Suzy Bishop finished in 15:29.

Oracle finished in...

Spoiler

17:23.  The player infected with snout fever is...

Spoiler

The one player who did not stitch the film back together correctly!  We had to send this player back in to fix their mistake, and the dogs just totally went to town on their ass.  This player was...

Spoiler

Royal Tenenbaum!  Royal has contracted snout fever, and will not be able to vote in this Tribal Council.  When will Royal be able to vote again?  Well, we've got our best scientist, Professor Watanabe, working on a cure around the clock, and we expect him to have a serum ready by the final nine.

Royal will just have to wait to vote again until then, unless anyone has some extra serum laying around we can use.  That would cure him immediately.  It will not be announced if this takes place.
