Working The Beat / Re: Final Immunity Challenge: Just One More Thing
« on: August 09, 2020, 05:04:49 pm »
This is it, detectives.  Let's see what you all thought.

At 5:00, Rust said Colonel Mustard with the Knife in the Conservatory.  Lucifer said Colonel Mustard with the Knife in the Conservatory. Poirot said Colonel Mustard with the Knife in the Billiard Room.

At 6:00, Rust said Mrs. Peacock with the Lead Pipe in the Study.  Lucifer said Mrs. Peacock with the Lead Pipe in the Study.  Poirot said Miss Scarlett with the Lead Pipe in the Conservatory.

At 7:00, Rust said Miss Scarlett with the Candlestick in the Lounge. Lucifer said Miss Scarlett with the Candlestick in the Lounge.  Poirot said Mrs. Peacock with the Candlestick in the Lounge.

At 8:00 Rust said Mr. Green with the Rope in the Billiard Room. Lucifer said Mr. Green with the Rope in the Billiard Room. Poirot said Mr. Green with the Rope in the Study.

Let's look at the answers...
At 8:00, Mr. Green was indeed in the Study with the Rope!  Poirot gets it right, and the other two have made an error on the location.

At 7:00...
...it was Miss Scarlett in the Lounge with the Candlestick!  Rust and Lucifer get it right, while Poirot has the person wrong.

Still anybody's game.

At 6:00...
Mrs. Peacock was in the Billiard Room with the Lead Pipe!  Rust and Lucifer have the location wrong, and Poirot has everything but the weapon wrong.

At 5:00...
Colonel Mustard was in the Conservatory with the Knife!  Rust and Lucifer are perfect, and Poirot has the wrong location.

Poirot will not be winning immunity. Rust and Lucifer didn't get a perfect score, but they did tie! And less then three minutes separated them!

The winner is...
Lucifer, who took exactly 28 minutes! Rust's time of 30 minutes, 14 seconds is just barely not good enough!

Lucifer has won the last immunity and will be at the FTC!

It won't be Hercule.  He has four things out of place.

It sounds like due to work schedules there is a real possibility that at least one player will start the challenge technically before the end of deadline but would go over it while trying to complete it.  We will grant an extension if necessary, with the caveat that the deadline for TC will still be at the usual time.

Working The Beat / Final Immunity Challenge: Just One More Thing
« on: August 08, 2020, 05:01:37 pm »

It's almost time for the Final Tribal Council!  Before we can do that, though, there's just one more thing. You see, something keeps bothering me about this and I keep circling back around to it. So, I need you to just indulge me in one more thing.

You see, Final Tribal Council is only for two players and there are still three of you. So it looks like we're going to have one more challenge.  Let's see who can do the best job of solving this crime.

Remember Survivormeet Manor?  It turns out the people who rented the AirBnb after Reck was murdered have ALSO been involved in a murder.  We've been trying to take a few statements, but it's been very confusing to figure out where everybody was and when.

Here are the suspects:
Miss Scarlett
Col. Mustard
Mr. Green
Mrs. Peacock

Here are the rooms in which they claim to have been:
Lounge
Conservatory
Billiard Room
Study

Here are the weapons the suspects were seen with:
Lead Pipe
Rope
Candlestick
Knife

And here are the times in which they were seen by somebody else in the room:
5:00
6:00
7:00
8:00

Unlike traditional logic puzzles, though, the clues will not just be given to you.  You will have to solve some other puzzles in order to get the right clues. The method of solving these puzzles will be explained once you start the challenge.

Immunity will go to the fastest person who can tell me who was where at what time and with what weapon.  In the event nobody gets all four, the tiebreak will be number correct followed by fastest time. Good luck, the FTC is in sight!  Use all your detective skills to make sure you're the one sitting there!

HERE is the form to start the challenge.  Post the answer in your confessional.

There's a subforum that says Cold Cases or whatever, and should have a childboard with your name under it. And I think you get to make whatever threads you like there?

Hercule and Rust just flexed all over Lucifer.  Gotta think whichever of them makes it to F2 wins.  I'm hoping it's Rust because he had it if it was a F3 too, but Poirot has been good.

Poor Leon :(

They are the favorites, probably, but I don't think Lucifer is drawing dead.

Wild F4.  It is still anybody's game, and this last challenge could affect a lot.

Congrats to the players for reaching the Final Three!

Before I post the Final Immunity Challenge, it's time for us to look back through the cold case files and remember all the memories that have taken place over the course of this game.  In a moment, I will open up a subforum where you will be able to write up a little something special about each player in the game.  Finalists MUST do this before they will be allowed to participate in the FIC. Jurors are also encouraged to do a torchwalk, and there will also be an area for spectators to say some nice things for the players to read post-game.

Yeah, this is fantastic.

Even if the waveform does collapse and it ends up being a 3-1 Poirot anyway, the path things would have taken to get there is exciting.
